thanks! good to see you too! life has taken over and I rarely get to Dis...

I have 2 dogs who think they live with me now...anybody want a black lab...he's a sweetie, he's about 1 yr old and full of love, but i dont have time for him and I cant afford another dog..his owners dont want him anymore because he wont stay home because he's bored there and wants to play with my dogs! so thus he comes over and brings a friend with him, then I have 5 dogs in my yard.

Hi everybody...I weighed in 1.4 pounds LESS than last week! Yippee! (Let's hope this continues!).

I need some reinforcement. I went to dinner tonight with some friends, and it came out that I was a big Disney fan. I almost felt like the kid in middle school who's getting made fun of; like I was being marginalized for loving something so "fake" and "artificial." I mean, who spends so much time, listening to a Disney podcast and checking out websites and writing on message boards? Two of the girls I was with had never been and didn't understand what was so wonderful about it. One of them couldn't believe that I wasn't worried about how many pedophiles would be at WDW ("isn't it the world's most prime location for them?").

I love WDW for a lot of reasons: It's beautiful, it's safe, it was built and is run with care and a great deal of thoughtfulness, it's fun, everybody's happy, it's an escape from reality, it's warm and lovely and I miss it! I know I'm unreasonably upset over this. I mean, I'm not a missionary for Disney; if they don't ever go it doesn't bother me (fewer crowds!). But plenty of people spend hours collecting baseball cards, watching sports, scrapbooking, gardening, stamp collecting, or engaging in other hobbies I don't care much about personally - and I would never think "they must be nuts" or "who would ever put so much time into that?"

SO sorry to digress! This isn't the Complain Frequently board.

On the upside, I was very good at the restaurant. I only had half (maybe not even that!) of my food, and DID NOT order soda, just water! No dessert, and even when I stopped at the grocery store on the way home for cat food, I didn't buy ANY bad foods.

Welcome to ALL of our new friends! We're so glad to have more people to love...

Samer, but then I was so bad for no good reason, it's scary. I had cake (it was my job to pick up the cake for the Aug, Sept., and Oct. birthday, so of course I got chocolate with chocolate filling and chocolate roses). I didn't have time to make my lunch so I ate yogurt (light) with granola (not light) for lunch. Then my partenr had left her lunch sitting out when she left, and she called me and told me to throw it away or eat it. Can you guess what I did? It was tortellini alfredo, something I would never order, and when I finished it, I really felt sick. So cake, cheesy pasta, then I ate a salad when I got home, then hit the jar of peanuts. Nuts are definitely on my list of beloved foods.
I am challenging all of you to set a goal that you would like to reach by Thanksgiving. It can be a certain weight you want to reach, or maybe increasing the distance you walk by 1-mile, or even something as simple as cutting back on soda to once a week by Turkey-day. Anything that will help you achieve your goal of a healthier, happier you! Of course, you don't have to post it here if you don't feel comfortable doing so. But I will be reminding all of you on occasion to keep up with that Thanksgiving goal. Together, we can accomplish anything! (How's that for inspirational?)

OK, my goal is to get back to where I was in May, which was 4 lbs. lower than I am now. And Thanksgiving is my anniversary of joining the peeps. That would put me at 11 1/2 lbs. in one year. Also, I would be a big "clunk" down on the scales, under 150. I feel like a super-slow loser, but at least I'm a loser, right? How many people brag about that?

I know what you mean. Some people feel superior by knocking anything that's popular. My thought is, if it's so awful, why do so many people love it?

There are some pervs at Disney though. We've seen them on both coasts. That doesn't stop us from enjoying the parks, it just means you still have to be diligent with kids.

GOOD MORNING! :sunny:

My top three naughty foods are almost the same as everybody else's:

1. salty snacks (especially cheez-its)
2. warm cookies and pie (ice cream has no power over me)
3. fried food...french fries, deep-fried appetizers, etc.

Thank goodness we don't eat out much! That is my saving grace!

TOP TIPS

Don't keep your temptation foods in your house!!!! DON'T!!! Nobody needs that junk...not you or your kids or your spouse!

Find healthy foods that you like! If you actually like the food you're eating it won't seem like your deprived.

EVERYBODY HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY! :flower3:

1. Whoever said Ducan Hines yellow cake with Milk Chocolate Frosting.... will you marry me??? The only additional thing that this needs to make it perfect is a glass of ICE, COLD MILK!!! :cloud9:

I do! (Although BF might put up a fight...I would hope...hm. :rotfl:

I actually have a friend who does this to me quite often. About lots of things - Disney, weight loss, money, etc. It's hard because I love her very much. But what it comes down to, at least in her case, is jealousy. When you aren't happy with things that you have or are insecure about things you love, some people react by putting you down and trying to strap you into the same boat they're in.

Whenever she starts harping like this, I simply tell her she shouldn't judge something she's never experienced and then I change the subject. That simple.

AMEN!

Despite 2 of my top 3 food vices being sweet, I'm actually much more of a salty snack craver. Especially Doritos. However, I actually just started eating these:
chips.jpg

They are yummy! And come in 3 "salty" flavors and 3 sweet ones.

Now, they aren't great in terms of being "good" for you (130 cal./5g fat-no transfat/19g carbs/2g fiber/2g protein), but they're a nice alternative to Doritos for me. And 1 serving (12 chips) is equal to 1/2 a serving of veggies.

It's what I eat when I don't want to cheat but want to feel like I'm cheating.

And I think it goes without saying that the cheddar ones are my favorite!

first off, don't knock it til you try it! seriously. how can someone criticize you for loving WDW if they've never even been??? if you've never been, then how do you know? and as for the others that have been, to each his own. i personally don't understand how anybody could go there and not want to go back very soon! it's such a magical place!!!! i mean, everyone is different - our world would be boring if we all liked the same things! but to make fun of someone for loving something so pure and magical is just plain mean IMO. if it's all in good fun, just let it go. but if it really bothers you i would tell them INDIVIDUALLY that it hurts your feelings. telling them as a group may lead to more jokes.

i'm off to an HOA meeting and i'll probably get things thrown at me because i'm wearing my vandy shirt today and they play UGA. GO 'DORES!!!!!! they'll probably lose but i've gotta support my team!

 i can't even *think* of 16 colors!!!!

I will break down this 16 colors thing, so you can have an idea of why MAC Artists always look sooooo "done"... :rolleyes1

Keep in mind that what I'm listing is OUTSIDE of the normal layer of spackle.... er... I, mean, FOUNDATION... :rotfl: that you are REQUIRED to wear...

*a base for your shadow (i.e. -something emollient/creamy to help the shadow "stick" and make the colors "pop", like a cream shadow)

*at least 4 colors of eyeshadow on your eyes

*eye liner (sometimes more than 1)

*mascara (sometimes 2 different kinds at the same time)

*fill in brows

*bronzer

*blush (sometimes 2 different kinds)

*lipliner, lipstick, AND lipgloss... (and usually, they would tell you to use 2 different liners and 2 different glosses in order to get the "perfect" lip color combo...

And WHAM!... you have made it to about 16 pieces of color by the time you do all of this... :rotfl2:

WOW!!!!! i guess i do use more "colors" than i thought. i use a cream color to make my eye makeup "stick" (who woulda thought i was doing something right???), then usually about 3 colors on my eyes, eyeliner (1), mascara (1), blush and lip gloss. so that's 8 colors. i'm halfway there!!!

WOW!!! I wouldn't have a clue on how to make this look good. I hate putting on makeup---I consist of base, eyeshaow--3 colors, blush, lip liner, lip stick, and mascara. I never wear eye liner--scares me :confused3

Here is a pic. of Rebekah as a glo worm ---one is in the dark and the other is with lights.

i look DEAD without eyeliner! i've found that if you smudge it a little it doesn't look so dark and goth-looking!

rebekah DOES look like a little glo worm! how cute!!! my little sister had one of those glow worms that you could squeeze and it would glow. she loved that thing! your other kids have a REAL precious little glo worm! :goodvibes

It's the hose that contains all the wires for the machine. Looks just like the vaccume hose though.

She is absolutely precious! How long does she have to be under that blanket? All day? I never had a baby with jaundice, so I don't know much about it. :confused3

Your little glo worm is absolutely beautiful. After having 3 sons and now 1 grandson, what I wouldn't give to have those darling little pink clothes and blankets!!!!

OH!! I get this ALLL the time. It doesn't help that I am sort of the sarcastic type and I really don't like or want kids (sorry to all who have them, I think they are wonderful for you, just not for me!!). So I get it double!

I tend to keep my WDW thing a bit under wraps for this reason, actually... My DH is very into it so I can share things with him, and I don't really advertise it too much at work. Although they do know I am DVC (well, to them, own a timeshare), and that I go down 4-5 times a year, and have now just chalked it up to one more "quirk".

Holy be-geebus!! I have started this Bare Minerals thing, so I wear their foundation, the "mineral veil", brown or black eyeliner, brown eyeshadow. Sometimes I might smudge a bit of the blue in my little combo thing into the crease, as I bought some Almay thing for blue eyes that has instructions to do so... No lipstick or blush, because I am too lazy to keep up with lipstick and I am naturally ruddy so I try to keep the extra color to a minimum. I can't imagine all that on my face!

I got my haircut today... I should be 2-3 lbs lighter this week just for it! My hair was about halfway down my back, just past the strap, and I think he took off about 6-8 inches. Here is 2 pics, one with flash, one without:

:faint:

Reason #82 why it is so much easier to be a guy! My wife is happy if I shave more than twice a week, because I just don't like to take the time in the morning to do it. I couldn't imagine going through this makeup routine every day! And with all of this talk of "pieces of color", I can't help but be reminded of Office Space and their "15 pieces of flair" rule!

All right, here's an updated list of our Thanksgiving goals -

Aaron (me) - Lose 7.4 lbs (It was 11 before my 3.6 pound loss this week)
pigget74 - Lose 10 lbs
Gina (MA pigletfan) - Lose 5.5 lbs
Nikki (Tink-ing) - Lose 5%, or 9.86 lbs
Wendy (UtahMama) - Lose 5 lbs, and only eat one piece of Halloween candy each day, if any.
Lisa (zigzagzerr) - Lose 5 lbs
Pakey - Lose 5 lbs
Kat (HockeyKat) - Lose 4.8 lbs to reach pre-WDW weight
pamrob - Lose 8 lbs
SingingMUA - Lose 5 lbs
Harley - Lose 8 lbs
dwheatl - Lose 4 lbs to get back to May weight

Good luck to all! And have a great rest of the weekend!

I got my haircut today...

your hair looks so cute! i can't believe you got so much cut off! but it looks good.

i got a haircut on friday. i like it -- she took about 3 inches off the bottom, which it totally needed. she always cuts my bangs too short though and i feel like a little kid!

 i love that movie! my favorite scene is where they're destroying the fax machine or copier or whatever it is and there's gangster rap playing in the background.....so funny!

by the way, i love your new siggie picture!

i'm off to have that stuffed shrimp meal i referred to earlier this week. hopefully i won't destroy the progress i've made since returning from WDW!

We are now done with the blanket. She was under it for about 20 hours per day for 5 days. She is still a little jaundice, but really only I can tell. The whites of her eyes are almost completely white. She went from golden skin tones to now just a nice tan. We go for our 2 week checkup on Tuesday.
