Thanks everyone for all your prayers and optimism. This really is a great place and I am getting addicted to the boards, you all are so supportive! :grouphug: Especially thanks to winkers, pixiedust, lexmelinda, fidge, aldisneygrl, mlill, eeyore45, wonders, Lynda, dismomand anyone else I may have missed for all of your good wishes and prayers and pixiedust:

My DH got a shot and prescription for muscle relaxants. So far, it has made a *tiny* difference. He is able to get up and slowly limp to the bathroom and that is about it. The dr said just rest, use heatpacks, a hand-held massager, and the muscle relaxants. The trip is 3 days away :charac2:
In the meantime, DD4 has developed a fever. I was up every 4 hrs last night giving Tylenol and 4 hrs on the dot she was burning up again. DD6 has a cough, but not too bad. DDog is still barfing and required two baths and a carpet cleaner last night. Did I mention the trip is 3 days away? :sad2:

On a positive note, I ate really well yesterday! I stopped at McDonald's on the way home to pick up dinner for the kids and DH and got myself....nothing! I threw a veggie burger and left over string beans in the mic for myself :woohoo:

:welcome: to everyone!

Jo, love your family - the girls are as cute as can be!

denecarter, thanks for the bicarb tip! I've never heard of that before, but I sure will try it.

Ok I'm thinking it's great that your family is getting all this sick nonsense over before your trip. This way everyone will be better when you go and you'll be able to enjoy yourself. Please make sure that you take vitamin c so you stay healthy! Moms are prohibited from being sick for some reason!:grouphug:

I'm taking a multivitamin, vitamin C, and zinc (I've found that to work really well) and just started giving the same to everyone else last night.I'm really trying to stay optimistic (thanks to everyone here!), so I have been telling myself the same thing. Everyone will recover nicely in the next 3 days and then we will be in tip-top shape for the trip. :wizard: Think it'll work???

All of this stuff going on has really put a damper on our pre-trip anticipation and excitement. I suppose once we get there it will make us appreciate it that much more. I'm just hoping we get there in one piece!!!

 Just keep telling yourself, that you can't have 'ups' in life without the 'downs'. Somehow, it will all work out, and pixiedust: YOU WILL HAVE A WONDERFUL WDW VACATION! pixiedust:

Hang in there! :thumbsup2

Good morning everyone!
I have a small moment of self control to celebrate today...last night my boyfriend decided he wanted to go out to dinner..to the dreaded Chinese restaurant...(insert doom and gloom music here)..while delicious, NOT PEEP friendly!...But i was good and only got sushi ( which I love!)..even though the crab rangoons were calling my name...if you picture that, that is indeed creepy...ANYhoo...I am just happy to report that i PEEPED it up and stayed strong against the MSG machine!
Have a happy, skinny minny, healthy day everyone!

Great job! :goodvibes I don't know if I could have been as strong as you! I LOVE chinese food. (and every other kind of food, for that matter... sigh...) I've been wanting to order take-out Chinese all week since the DH is away on business, but I've resisted the temptation so far. :thumbsup2

Way to go!

-Michelle

Tomorrow night, I'm supposed to go out to dinner with a friend and it's either going to be Chinese buffet (the very worst of temptations!) or Japanese. I guess the Japanese restaurant would be safest, but when I was last there, the chef stirfried tons of potatoes into the veg mix:confused3 ---something I've never seen before...and, of course, the mountain of rice, etc. I also just discovered the white sauce they offer is actually made of mayonnaise--not an authentic Japanese item, as I suspected.

p.s. Congrats on passing on the crab rangoon! That's my favorite as well.

:wizard: Got to call DVC Member Services this morning to begin the reservation process for Christmas. Our plans are for DD and I to stay at Beach Club Villas in a 1 BR from 12/23 to 12/28... then go to Caribbean Beach Resort for 12/28 to 12/30... then my brother and his family and my parents will come and we'll go to Old Key West for a Grand Villa from 12/30 to 1/5. So I'm just gonna miss the big Peep Meet... maybe another time.

Putting my Kashi Chicken Pomodoro (sp?) in the freezer this morning was scary ... the thing has at least 40 Klondike bars leftover from a student reward thing.

I walked away... they are NOT worth it. I wish they didn't use food as a reward, but...:confused3.

Funny ours come from Africa. :rotfl2:

:lmao: Not only did the website claim they came from the UK, they claimed to be the UK's FAVORITE!

But i was good and only got sushi ( which I love!)..even though the crab rangoons were calling my name...if you picture that, that is indeed creepy...ANYhoo...I am just happy to report that i PEEPED it up and stayed strong against the MSG machine!

Celebration time! Way to go! :yay: :dance3:

Good Morning all! Back form Hospital they were only able to complete 1 of the 4 tests! It seems mother nature had other plans and now I know why I had gained 2 lbs when I had stomach bug! At least one down right??

OK well that is the theme these past 24 hours. My son had a horrible day at school, DH was going out and I stayed home and attempted to help DS and get him refocused. Sadly, it regarded his weight if all things! The poor thing got very very upset. So no WW lat night and there are no others within 50 miles of me till next Tuesday night.

WW had to wait DS needed a Mom. So today I will ride my excercie bike and will try to downlaod some old songs from big hair days and play that in the backround to my exercise dvd. The music on them are NOT inspiring for this ole gal!

Hope everyone is in good health and good spirits today....adding to my gratitude list for today....so glad I am not Melinda on Tuesday eeekk!! Could not survive well all those yummies on my desk !!!! God Bless ya!

OK off for my bowl of colon blow!!!

Ate my colon blow this morning. It was very good! Now, let's hope it works!!! :rolleyes1

Off to go grocery shopping with Dad! :cutie:

Happy Day!!! :goodvibes

Everytime I come here I love it more and more! What are you in grad school for? I'm cruising with Celebrity on the Century with ports of call at Key West and Grand Cayman. A 5-nighter. It's a mom-daughter trip and both of our first cruises. I'm VERY excited about it! And I'll be even more excited about it if I could drop a few sizes by then. I know what you mean about the Disney Cruise! My DB and DSIL want to do the Disney Cruise with their kids (and I can tag along) but it's so much! It's the closest thing they will come to Disney which is why my mom and I always have to take their kiddos to WDW. Works for me!

I'm currently doing a Master's of Education in Adult Learning and Development. I'm lucky because I work at a state college, which means the pay isn't so great, so we can do our master's for free which is a nice perk. Basically it will help me to further my current career in higher education administration.

 Now on to the fun part . . . I've heard Celebrity is awesome!! My DH's cousin and her DH don't have kids and travel everywhere (they're going to WDW next month :guilty: so jealous) and they love to cruise especially with Celebrity!! We cruised with Princess for our honeymoon, but Grand Cayman was far and away our favorite stop . . . it's so beautiful!! Our excursion was a snorkel and sting ray swim which was so cool, we even bought a DVD of it!! Although my favorite part was the thermal suite at our ship's spa, which I think the Century calls the Persian Garden, they have heated stone loungers, with aromatherapy steam rooms and saunas. You had to buy a pass for the week but it was soooo nice to go there and relax everyday before dinner. Feel free to ask me any questions about cruising, I love to plan vacations and have probably done a little bit too much research!!

Whew! All caught up (I think) on reading the Peeps thread. I'll be gone for more than a week, beginning Friday, so I will really be out of the loop when I return.

EASY RECIPE:

Pita Pizzas

Take a whole grain pita and use a scissors to cut around the outside of the circle to make two thinner circles. (Hope this makes sense)

Place on cookie sheet and spread with pizza sauce or tomato sauce with some Italian seasoning.

Top with anything you like on pizza (try to stick with the healthy toppings). Canadian bacon is a good meat choice for this.

Sprinkle a little lowfat cheese on top.

Bake at 400 degrees until top begins to brown. Super easy and good for you!

I take the leftover pizza to work and fold them in half after I warm them in the microwave and they are like a homemade Hot Pocket.

:thumbsup2

I really need some support because the weight just isn't coming off on my own!:grouphug:

What's worked for me in the past is South Beach Diet...3 years ago, I lost about 16 lbs., which brought me to a size 14. Not great, but when you've been straining at your 16s, it felt wonderful! Little by little, but esp. in the past year (which has had multiple stresses inc. 2 family deaths), it's come back on and maybe even a couple pounds more. My 16s are feeling snug again.

The thing I still have a problem with mentally is that I was always a thin, thin child and teenager. Until my late 20s, I was still a size 8-10, which actually was better for me than when I'd--unbelievably!--looked too thin as a 4-6. When I hit 30, a few extra pounds came on each year and I didn't really mind because I thought I'd lose them easily. Seeing myself as a "skinny" person, I just didn't take it seriously. Then, along came DS and a move from the Northeast (Philadelphia) to the South (Kentucky) where DH has loads of extended family---meaning family gatherings around lotsa food---often! I was shocked when I passed 160 lbs. and now would love to be there (about 16 pounds away). Once I reach THAT goal, I'd like to try to be a size 10-12 again. I'd be totally comfortable with that.

Two days ago, I thought I'd try SB again. Yet, I had a couple of minor cheats (2 tortilla chips and, my weakness, about 15 dark chocolate chocolate chips.) Today, I found my self falling off the wagon about 4-5 times (inc. way too many almonds, I guess since they're an "allowed" food!). I've come to the realization that Phase One MEANS Phase One with no cheats.

We've got a WDW trip coming up in May and I'd really, really like to lose at least 15 lbs. by then. Dare I admit we're trying the DP for the first time, but hope that I'll be able to not gain too much there and get back to work once we 're home again.

So glad this thread was started!!!:goodvibes

Karla B.

Welcome, Karla! I'm a South Beacher too. Lost a lot and then gained some back, and now going to lose again. Good luck!

Good morning everyone!

Good job! MSG is nasty stuff. And crab rangoons (especially talking ones) are soooo yummy! :woohoo:

ONE MORE PIECE OF ADVICE:

Go to hungry-girl.com and subscribe. You'll get a newsletter almost every day with lots of diet friendly tips and recipes. It's the first thing I read in my email each morning.

You're talking in code again....doesn't biscuit=cookie???

Um yes it does but if I keep refering to biscuits you guys won't know what they are and we can pretend they're fruit. :rotfl2:

FYI did you know that walking at a pace burns off the same amount of calories per mile as running but is much better on your joints? So girls (and threadhunk) dust off those trainers (running shoes) and get walking. :thumbsup2

mygirlsof2 - sending you prayers and pixie dust to get you through these sicknesses pixiedust: (and dancing smilies cause the make me smile! :dance3:)

Now just take a deep breath and tell yourself that it will be ok and once you get to WDW this will all seem like a bad, distant memory!

Hey skinnie minnies!

Just popping in, almost wrote pooping in....too funny!

I go to the Dr. a week from Friday.

I was in bed totally sick yesterday. Had to call my help in, I was just on the verge of barfing and never did. That's the worst!

So, I got up extra early today and did the tread mill. I've found exercise first keeps me level the rest of the day.

I lost those 2 pounds finally I put on, only because I had to buy some bran cereal and prunes. Everything s-l-o-w-s down when I'm pregnant. I'm much better today thank you. (there was a reason for the poop slip above) :lmao:

Ok, have an awesome day. I wish I had more time to be around, but school has me very busy.

I have a guilt complex about it too.
