Favorite Romantic Movie Peep Poll : I've decided its a long weekend and throw some interest in the thread!! So chime in folks!! :happytv:

I can't pick just one! I love Sense & Sensibility, Pride & Prejudice (the bbc version with colin firth), Gone with the Wind, Ever After, to name a few.

So we leave in 6 days, peeps to Disneyland!

But my 17 year old has to stay home for his Full Time job at Arbys (he's doing training) and is in college classes he can NOT miss. He WANTS to stay home, too. So the rest of us went shopping today and when we got home the microwave was on fire! :scared1:

He had put a really nice flax seed neck pillow that you microwave for 30 seconds, take it out and shake and microwave again, (repeat)for 6 minutes!!!!!! It was put in the microwave awkwardly and so the carousel would not turn. So my lovely neck warming flax seed and lavander neck pillow caught fire and totally ruined our microwave!

He was SO appologetic, but I just said, "Let's look at all the lapses in COMMON SENSE in this situation!"

P.S. His Girlfriend is out of town durring the week we're gone or I'd be dragging him to DL!!!!

I'm jealous that you are going to disneyland AND eating at the Pirates restraunt, Blue Bayou, love that place!!! I have a picture of all my kidos drinking mint julips there. You'll love it. I love the monet cristo, basically a deep fried ham and cheese sandwich...........................................I'm hungry!!

What is cookie cake? I keep hearing about it and I'm curious. I bet it's good how could you go wrong combining cookies and cake? Yes, I'm lonely and rambling!:rotfl:

After only losing 2 of the 7 mystery pounds I GAINED this last week, I wont be eating anything deep fried!

Winkers, did you have the wedge salad when you were there? It literally looks like 1/4th cut wedge of iceburg lettuce and about 4 pieces of meat, with some other things artfully drizzled about the plate. BUT, it's raved about on every Dining Report I've read. :confused3 I betcha it's 8.95 for a hunk of iceburg lettuce!

I will be dieting with the exception of 1/2 of a planned Dole Whip!!!!
NO FUNNEL CAKES!!!! I promise!

My fave is Somewhere in Time. I love that it was filmed right here in Michigan on Mackinac Island.

Uma, be sure to check in tomorrow with a weight update again - I'll bet you'll be down at least another 2 or 3 pounds. That fire probably scared the pooh: right out of ya!!!

I went to the pool to swim on my own for an hour today. There were a TON of kids there! But I forced myself to exercise. Maybe next weekend, I'll try going on Sunday instead.

Its cold here...and I so wish I were at teh beach...with the warm sand and the warm sun...and the waves and the water...I need to go....I am ready to go right now, by myself if I have to...I just really want to go!:hippie:

Nope, I didn't have the salad, but I did hear about it. My theory is that at disney with all the walking you can eat what you want. But then I'm the rationalization queen, my friends have me find excuses for them even.

I agree - have what you want, its vacation

I have a friend who went to Disney and she and her husband split nearly every meal, they were doing weight watchers... I cant do that eveyr meal

Do you cont Aristocats in the romantic moview category!!! Oh how I lvoe that scoudnrel of a cat Thomas O'Malley!!! purrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Yes that counts!!

FAVORITE ROMANTIC MOVIE - since I love romantice movies this is a tough one! All time fave - Gone With the Wind. Followed closely be Pride and Prejudice (both the long A & E version and the new) and Sense and Sensibilities.

Honorable mentions:

Return to Me - funny and romantic

Pretty Woman

You've Got Mail

Sleepless in Seattle

Any Doris Day

I could go on and on! I love romance comedies!

DD ended up doing pretty much what I recommended to start with - we found a dress at the church and bought a tiara. When we arrived at the costume store and it dawned on her that I was serious about her spending her money, she decided that maybe she could make do with what we had at home!! Shocking!

Going to eat - I will be good - I am going to get Grilled tuna!

I LOVE your choices as well - and what a sweet memory you and your dd forged today!!

Hey everyone... Im better today and can actually hold down food. HOpe everyone had a good weigh in.

I was wondering about you, almost sent you a PM, but decided I could search for it a bit more - I'm getting serious about that scrap weekend in Indy in June!! BUT you get yourself well, then you can help me solve my problems...

OK, I had to read this TWICE - and I did snort... :rotfl2: seriously!! and UMA, its ok, in the end dear utahthreadgoddessdeterminedmama to eat that dolewhip, just balance ok? Balance by walking and drinking lots of water!! AND since dolewhip has pineapple, it will help clear out some of the fat, so its a zero point *wink *wink

Minnie Moo  Somewhere in Time... as a matter of fact... :rolleyes1 DH and I spent our first vacation at Macinac, and then we did a second honeymoon up there for a week - w/o kids.. it was really romantic!! *memories... yep, we both love Somewhere in Time!!!

I forgot where I was going with this!! As you can read by my replies... I'm something of a romantic... :rolleyes1

and one of my all time favs is "MOONSTRUCK" ("snap out of it" and "somebody tell a joke" :rotfl2: ) The scene where Cher pulls out the red shoes... and *sigh gets ready for her date... it makes me sigh... (what is it with women and shoes??? :rotfl2: ) So dh has always wondered why I dont get a pair of red shoes, and he has threatened to buy me red shoes... but, I have HUGE feet, and I am tall... so finding the "right" pair of red shoes... well, its been elluding me...

UNTIL TODAY:love:   DW shoes had the perfect red shoes (ok, the heel is high, but I forgive them!!) and the perfect price!! FIFTEEN BUCKS (on sale of course!!)

I will take a pic of my windfall!!!

:rotfl2: Yes dd noticed I now am the proud owner of not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR BRAND NEW PAIRS OF SHOES!!! :rotfl2:

DH and I loved Somewhere in Time. Our bridesmaids walked down the aisle to that music. We wanted to stay at the Grand Hotel for our honeymoon, but being young and poor, we couldn't do it. Maybe someday.....

Well, I haven't been on much because my DD (the one that came home with the fever yesterday) threw up at 9:00 last night. After eating a grilled cheese, tater tots and a green apple slushie from Sonic! :scared1: That was her treat since DS had left for his weekend trip. Luckily, she didn't drink much of the slushie or my cream colored carpet would have turned GREEN! DH helped clean up all the mess upstairs while I dealt with the comforter and sleeping bag covered in puke. She seems to be doing better. No fever today, but with the outbreak of Peanut Butter induced salmonella (I had three contaminated jars of PB  ), I don't know if she has the flu or food poisoning. If she had food poisoning, wouldn't she get sick right away? I think I fed her PB crackers on Mon. or Tues. of this week. She didn't get sick until Friday. :sad2:

Please send us some healing pixie dust. :wizard: She is supposed to have a sleepover at grandma's tomorrow.

Careful, Sandy, or we'll have to start calling you Imelda! My only pair of red shoes are my Disney Crocs.

That's so cool that you have been to Mackinac Island for vacation and your second honeymoon. Someday I'd like to stay at the Grand Hotel there, but I have been too cheap so far :scared: Maybe for our 30th anniversary. We did Vegas and Disneyland for our 25th.

ETA - Allie, so sorry to hear your DD is sick. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I think Salmonella would have shown up sooner.
