Have I told you lately...

That I love you??:rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Hello All,

How was everyone's day? Last night DD10 spent the night at my brothers house with my niece. That left DD12 and I alone. So, I took her to a rock wall. She climbed all the way to the top. Then today she and I went to see Music and Lyric's very cute movie.

Then we went to Emegicare- she had been having some pooh problems and a little girl died this week from the flu. So, Grumpy and I didnt want to take chances.

Grumpy is in MN with DizneyDawn's family. So, the girls and I are alone til a week from tomorrow.

My dad came over and took the girls and I to dinner, then I booked him a trip to Austin, TX. I hope I got him a good rate? Not sure.

Anyway, I am going to lurk a little.. Then I guess I will go bed and off to church tomorrow.

Love, all y'all

Bee - We are waiting for the Page 500 WooHooty! Hope DD was ok.

Touch of the flu..

I am trying and waiting with you!!!:woohoo:

Congrats on Page 500 Winkers!!!!!!!!!

Isn't it silly what we get excited over? :confused3 :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Bee - sorry about the flu. I think that is what DD has had. She puked all over her bedding last night. It stunk sooooo bad. :snooty: (this is stinky smily ;) )

Ok, all this celebrating has made me tired. :rotfl: :rotfl2:

No, I really need to go take DD's temp and get her in the bed. DS called earlier from his retreat and said that it was snowing ALOT!!!! He was so excited because we just don't see snow that much around here. I feel for the chaperones of those 110 teens. Don't you wish you were them? ;) NOT!!!!:rotfl: :rotfl2:

Nighty Night Peeps! Love Ya'

It is ok... she is using her other end.. and she still wants to eat.. soooo, I normally would not have taken her to the doctor, but this little healthy 11 year old died this week with flu symptoms. She was fine then a few days later she was gone.. So, I acted like the overprotective mom I can be and spent money on the emergicare and they said she has the flu.:rotfl: . That is ok, I guess we would rather be safe than sorry!!

Darn! Missed it again because I was trying to catch up! I am craving something sweet really badly!!!!

WOOOHOOOTY WINKERS!!!

We did go eat at a place called Chesterfields tonight (Melissa and Heather will know of it) I had Caesar salad and grilled tuna and loaded potato but I did not use the butter and I did not eat it all and I had fried zucchini sticks with horseradish sauce, but it was not my fault, my in-laws ordered it and I had to eat, but it is zucchini and the breading was light. And I have my bread to DH and when DH asked if I wanted to go get ice cream I said no, but if he asked right now......

Okay, so a friend of ours has started selling Fresh Air purifiers and he gave us one to try. I think it costs about $800. Anyone know about these? We left it on sanitize when we went to eat and when we returned the whole house smelled different. A very clean, crisp smell - kind of strong, but not bad.

SANDY.....I thought I quoted you but wanted to say what a sweet husband you have. He's been well trained, I can see!
FAVORITE ROMANTIC MOVIES....I must agree with all of Stacey's choices and would like to add maybe Jane Eyre, City of Angels, Dr. Zhivago, Titanic, Shakespeare in Love, When Harry Met Sally & Jerry McGuire.
That's when you find out what's REALLY important....when you put them to spending their own money! I, too, have been expected to pull a costume out of my "ear" on a moments notice on several occasions and it always gets heated! Glad everything worked out.

One time we were watching Titanic and my DS (about 4 at the time) came in and caught the end of it. You know the part where she is on the board and Jack is in the water and Rose says, "I'll never let you go, Jack." Then she pushes him into the water. My DS was very upset. "She just said she would never let him go!!!" He didn't quite get it."

Hey everyone... Im better today and can actually hold down food. HOpe everyone had a good weigh in.

Glad you feel better!

So we leave in 6 days, peeps to Disneyland!

But my 17 year old has to stay home for his Full Time job at Arbys (he's doing training) and is in college classes he can NOT miss. He WANTS to stay home, too. So the rest of us went shopping today and when we got home the microwave was on fire! :scared1:

He had put a really nice flax seed neck pillow that you microwave for 30 seconds, take it out and shake and microwave again, (repeat)for 6 minutes!!!!!! It was put in the microwave awkwardly and so the carousel would not turn. So my lovely neck warming flax seed and lavander neck pillow caught fire and totally ruined our microwave!

He was SO appologetic, but I just said, "Let's look at all the lapses in COMMON SENSE in this situation!"

P.S. His Girlfriend is out of town durring the week we're gone or I'd be dragging him to DL!!!!

:rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:

After only losing 2 of the 7 mystery pounds I GAINED this last week, I wont be eating anything deep fried!

Winkers, did you have the wedge salad when you were there? It literally looks like 1/4th cut wedge of iceburg lettuce and about 4 pieces of meat, with some other things artfully drizzled about the plate. BUT, it's raved about on every Dining Report I've read. :confused3 I betcha it's 8.95 for a hunk of iceburg lettuce!

I will be dieting with the exception of 1/2 of a planned Dole Whip!!!!
NO FUNNEL CAKES!!!! I promise!

I am sure you will be down another 2 or 3 pounds in the morning! No funnel cake! :sad1: They had lettuce wedges at O'Charley's - I thought they were bland. Just a wedge of lettuce. :confused3

I LOVE your choices as well - and what a sweet memory you and your dd forged today!!
Not exactly the term I would have used!:rotfl:

Minnie Moo  Somewhere in Time... as a matter of fact... :rolleyes1 DH and I spent our first vacation at Macinac, and then we did a second honeymoon up there for a week - w/o kids.. it was really romantic!! *memories... yep, we both love Somewhere in Time!!!

Love that movie. I would love to go stay at the Grand! I remember buying great fudge there!

Allie - Sorry about your DD! Pray she is better tomorrow.

How is Dawn?

Shannon, you feeling okay!?

Pigget must be busy today. Heather, Madison is at her friend, Laura's, house tonight. They go to church with you. When he asked how I knew you, I told him through our daycare. Sounds funny to say you met someone online. Anyone else feel that way? Kind of like online dating, but not.

We are watching Flyboys right now.

Bee - we saw Music and Lyrics last night. I loved it!

500 Pages -- WOOOOO HOOOOOTY, Winkers!!!!!

I figured I would stay away since I just got the 7,000 Woo Hooty. Don't want to be a Woo Hooty HOG!!!

I can't wait to see music and lyrics, Hugh Grant is my fav..........
I hope to see that tomorrow.

SPoppins, they do have the BEST fudge on Mackinac Island! Tourists there are called FUDGIES!!! Wish I had some now . . . but I'll have to settle for a WW giant fudge bar, I guess.

Careful, Sandy, or we'll have to start calling you Imelda! My only pair of red shoes are my Disney Crocs.

That's so cool that you have been to Mackinac Island for vacation and your second honeymoon. Someday I'd like to stay at the Grand Hotel there, but I have been too cheap so far :scared: Maybe for our 30th anniversary. We did Vegas and Disneyland for our 25th.

ETA - Allie, so sorry to hear your DD is sick. pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

I think Salmonella would have shown up sooner.

Well, y'all just can have the Grand Hotel (btw trivia note - lots of Dis'ers and Disney alohics stay at the Grand!! but for me and mine - we like to go back to the backside of the island - away from 'foot traffic' (Harley, the island doesnt allow motorized vehicles, its so amazing, and romantic...) anyway... its a 'condo' type 1 bedroom, studios, 2 bedroom areas, all for rent for the week - and its private, jucuzzis, fireplaces, grills, etc... you just need to plan to bring in food for the week... where as the Grand is 'hooty tooty' but no air conditioning in many of the rooms... many of the 'hotel rooms' on the island do not have a/c - its so far north, anyway... at the Grand, it does go back to that "time period" where people "dressed" for dinner (think that scene in Titanic - and do RENT SOMEWHERE IN TIME... I must get it on dvd, I only have it on vhs, and yes, we do have it on CD!!! ) where was I going with this memory...

ok, well, there is this "rum island punch" and a "pub crawl"... :rotfl2: as well as a Fort Macinac that's fun.. I personal get to ride a horse, while dh prefers to run around the island... we bring our bikes... its just wonderful...

Awwww, that's so romantic! Hope you get to stay at the Grand sometime.

Two of my jars were 3/4 empty! :scared1: I guess they didn't have the salmonella in them. I just bought the other jar on Monday. I threw it away even though it was brand new. Not taking any chances!:sad2:

"Choosey mothers choose JIFF" :rotfl2: that and that's what Sam's club sells!! :rotfl2: Yep, we're Jiff family!! Only because of Sam's Club!! :rotfl2: I'd better call DS and let him know he "owes" me a thank you mom!! :rotfl2:

Ok this is close, the Home page shows the outside of the condo areas, back hmmm 25 YEARS ago... it was real cheap to stay in the one bedroom suite!!

http://www.yesmichigan.com/lakebluff/default.htm

right on the same "area" there is a hotel, and a pool and the condos could use those areas...

Sandy, we have taken our bikes to the island also. But my DH had a tire blow out going down one of those big hills and hit his head one time, so he got to have a ride in one of the very few motorized vehicles on the island - the AMBULANCE! Fortunately, he is pretty hard headed, so no concussion. Just a nasty scrape on his leg. So we no longer take our bikes.

I'd really be interested in knowing the name of the place that you stayed. That sounds great. Is it near the B&B that's made out of stone? We just went up for the day this past year when my DH's cousin got married at the little church across from the Grand. We stayed overnight in Mackinaw City instead of on the island. Boo! I like staying at Mission Point Resort. But it has been ages since we stayed there.

OK Cheryl, dh and I are this close to making a road trip this summer, dropping dd off at my mom's and headin NORTH to Macinac -

btw have you eaten at winschulers? DH and I ate there after Prom one year... (yes we drove from NW IN to MI... dh is a Michigandar!! near Detroit!)

Mission Point is where we'd go to during the week for Movie Night - free.. we went to one of the countries first butterfly museums... on the island.. now they're everywhere... and we'd visit churches for their "cultural" entertainment...

ahhhh the Good ole days... those were the days my friends....

I talked so that I convinced a friend to stay at Mission Point in the late '90's, of course that was a year of the heat wave, and the Mission Point 'used" to be a University, NO A/C!!! but very quaint, and reasonable...

lots of wonderful places to stay - and stay you must - esp during the Chicago to Macinac Race!!! Pink Pony anyone? (a bar, hip hoppin!! at lleast I think its called the Pink Pony!!)

Sandy, you should visit Mackinac this summer - we could do a mini-meet for the day!

Yep, I've eaten at Win Schuler's. Both at the Stevensville one (which is no longer there) and the one in Marshall. I love the Win Shuler's Bar Cheese and melba toast chips. Haven't had that for a while :rolleyes1

Mission Point is fairly pricey these days. I always thought it would be fun to stay at the Lilac Tree hotel on the main drag. We've had lunch at the Pink Pony a couple times, out on the back deck where you can see the ferries coming into the dock.

Those condo prices didn't look too bad, compared to some of the other hotel prices. I might have to check that out. I'd probably have to pay a small fortune for the horse taxis, though. My knees can't take walking on those hills any more!

YAY Winkers!!!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOTY!!!!!

geeez, 500 pages?!!!!! We are the awsomest!!!!!
