DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Hi all! I just discovered this and would like to join if I may?! I'm Jess, I'm 30 and about 7 years ago I joined WW and lost 65 lbs, so I KNOW that it can be done. Over the last 5 or so I've slowly gained back 30 of it, around 10 in the last 9 mos or so. SO - DH and I are going to Key West and Disney in 3 mos. I want to lose at least 15 lbs before we go. I started a new job a couple months ago and this office isn't nearly as bad with the snacking and eating out as my last one, so that will help. I've joined Curves and am determined to make going there 3-4 times/week a part of normal routine, and we're already eating better. Neither of us have a sweet tooth AT ALL so that's never been a problem, but I LOVE CARBS!! I'm trying very hard to eat more protein and less carbs. I really started watching myself and exercising last week and have lost 2 lbs so far, I just need to stick with it!

Wow this group is really growing, while the individuals peeps are shrinking! :welcome: Jess98ac!
 
Hi everyone!

I'm back from our Disney trip, came home to 16 degree weather :scared1: . It was overall an ok trip. Lots of good things happened, lots of bad things happened. I will write a trip report sometime soon.

I got on the scale this morning and it read 192.0, .5 lbs lighter than last week. I ate lots of dessert at Disney, but did lots of walking too. I'm going to try and get back into the eating-right-mode and try to have a weight loss for this week coming up. It will be hard because I will be traveling on business which means a) no exercise and b) usually fast food.

I was thinking about you all on my trip and am so glad that I have such a supportive group to come home to!

Glad you made it back. How is DH's back feeling? Hope everyone stayed healthy while you were there. Come on back and jump right back in! We are all in this together, and we will help you anyway you need. :hug:

Hey you DIS guys. What a great idea to do this weight-loss support thing. I haven't been on the board much in a few months because of craziness in my life. However, I'm back now & trying to get caught up EVERYWHERE ... how hard is THAT? Any way, I just found this. I must say I'm inspired. I intended to make "getting healthy" ... well, heathier, anyway ... a new year's resolution, but the the NY just flew right by & I didn't make any resolutions.

Maybe now ... with support from the likes of you all ... I can get started ... if this ship hasn't already sailed without me!

Hi Jess!:wave2: :welcome: to our group! I have done WW and lost 30 pounds TWICE! I am with you. I know the plan works, I just needed motivation. Well this group is the motivation you need. They will be there to :cheer2: you on, and give you :hug: when you don't do so well. I know because I have been at both extremes. We are glad to have you. Just weigh yourself on Friday (weigh in day). Then post your results (loss/gain) on each following Friday.


Melinda - Sending you :grouphug: for both of your DD's. My DD had to have her hamster put down when the same thing happened to her. It is a horrible feeling as a parent. For your other DD, she should be commended for trying to do what is right. I hope she doesn't get in trouble because of a "no tolerance" rule. Here is a :hug: for you too. You are having to deal with a lot right now.

Hey Newbie Minnies!!!! Welcome!

Tell us a little about yourself!

Did anyone tell you we have a little innitiation ritual we do? It's NO big deal and we ALL had to do it (feel free to check back all bazillion pages if you dont believe me) post a picture of yourself in a bikini (;) ) and post your weight and anything else we may want to know! Just Kidding. Someday some one IS going to believe us! DONT post your actual weight unless you are comfortable doing so. We do want to hear a little about yourselves. Anything you want to share especially about your weight struggles. We seem to have extremely different lives but the food struggles we share. We are bonded from pizza and oreos (double stuft) and lack of exercise etc.
 
Peeps, I lost my battle with food tonight. I did really well early on, counted my points and even though I had a few chips (4 or 5) with a bit of dip, I really stuck to my guns. DH and I got into it over halftime and I gave into emotional eating. I had a slice of pizza and about 12 steamed shrimp. DH is being a putz, screaming at the TV which is way too loud and bellyachy at me for playing a card game in the LR while he's trying to watch the game. He thinks we didn't have a right to watch and play at the same time because it interferes with his watching. I don't let him watch the games all year because of his attitude when things aren't going the way he wants. He's throwing a huge temper tantrum at the moment and decided to go to bed.

I think I'm done eating now, I have to give up a fudge pop or the WW choc cake though.

My DH just started the WORST shift at his work....6PM to 6AM. Daycare kids start arriving at 7AM...FUN keepin 3 two year olds and a 9 mo. old quiet :scared: . I'm expecting him to be very cranky tomarrow.

Welcome Fran. I love the name Francesca! In 4th gr., I had Sister Francesca, a Carmelite nun from Spain, as my history teacher. She was very kind and the name sounded very exotic to me.

)I think I may have sleep apnea which scares the heck out of me.But I keep waking up with a dry bloody tongue and I am sooooo tired that sitting here typing is hard. have no energy to walk and my Disney trip is fast approaching. I have so much to lose before we go so my bathing suit will fit and I will be able to enjoy the trip.Please send pixie dust;) Ooh , I didnt realize I was whining until I was done venting. We're here for you. Vent away. I'm sure your doctor has told you that weight loss helps the apnea. My sister has it, and even a ten lb. loss helped her. So, just keep slimming, and do the best you can.

Awesome. You must have shown some self-control, because almost everyone does a lot of walking at WDW, but very few come home with a weight loss. Great job.:thumbsup2 Just try to hang on to this victory as you travel for work.

I had to go back to the doctor today because the antibiotics aren't working and my ear is still :eek: They gave me new antibiotics, stronger ones, but not before they made me get on the scales with my jeans , sweater and sneakers on, so my weight there was exactly what it was at home pre-weight loss. I wanted to strip right there in the hall, but there were enough people suffering already:rotfl:

dwheatl my DS8 was fine earlier all of a sudden he said he was haivng trouble hearing, then about 30 min later he was in real pain,peroxide, oticane and motrin and warm salt compresses and he was still in tears...now he's asleep

what happened with you?does this sound like your "event"?

When my Dh was little his pediatrician recommended that his mom use the hairdryer near his ear and that did helo relieve the pain (just be careful not to burn the poor kid) We have used this on our kids when they've had ear aches at night when you can't get to the doctor.
 
I didnt think of that earlier, I have him sleeping on a rocksalt filled sock, if he wakes up I'lldo that

If he can sleep, let him sleep, but get him to the doctor tomorrow. That sounds very much like what happened to me, and a couple of hours later, the eardrum ruptured. It hurt so much and made me so dizzy, I was sick to my stomach and slept all day. If it ruptures, it's not permanently damaging if he gets on antibiotics so it can heal properly.

I'm sorry about your little guy. I hope he feels better soon.
 
Thanks for your advice...thats kinda the thought I had abot it too...it was just sudden onset and no relief,poor baby just cried and cried...

on other thoughts...I am going to be really good this week, minus tonight of course, and if I dont post a loss I think I am going to go have some tests run. My Dr passed away this past week so I have to find a new one and I want to get a blood work done to have my cholesterol checked, and maybe my thyroid...its not just the weight loss, its alot of things that could be something or nothing at all, fatiuge(thats being a mom) hair loss(thats being a mom& wife) but puffy eyes & eyelids, swollen fingers, joint pain(could be from working out) sleeping and waking up unrested, insomnia, changes in mentrual cycle, contipation, could be them muffins..i dunno may all be coincidence and I just need to try harder...

I want a easy button!!!
