DISappearing Peeps...A fastpass to THIN! Part 2

Good Morning -

I want to thank all the rest of you for your nice comments about the kids...so sorry for any of you who had bifocals and unexpectingly got a view of my mug...I tried my best to minimize the long term damage to your optical networking system!

So...goal for this week...get a battery for the scale so I can be specific on my losses...and gains. My best friend just asked my DS1 and my DD to join her and her 2 DD to go to FLORIDA to SEE MICKEY in April. Gotta see if it is a possibility. Splitting the cost would be so helpful though...maybe a sweet at the Music. Plus how to explain to DS2 who is 11...that he would not be going. I hate guilt. The only reason I would not feel super bad would be because Treyner has missed on 3 trips in August with us due to Soccer and H.S. Football. So Baylor would be okay...if I made sure he had lots of activity here. It would only be for 5 days.

Okay...I will myself to lose at least 5 pound this week. It is going to happen. Must excersize...must get moving.

I have a huge goal through Tupperware this month...I know I can do it but it is stressing me out and I do not want to eat due to that stress. So I am implementing food times throughout the day so I don't hoard at night.

That song that was posted from the Broadway Play, Wicked....it says we are drawn together to leave imprints. That is so true. Sometimes what seems as the reason for a meeting, a conversation, a networking ...turns into the least expected. Sometimes what starts as something for fun...changes your life. Taking the time to join you here on the Disboards was meant as a passtime. No more...no less.

Instead it has changed me. It has helped me foccus on what matters and brought to my attention, beliefs within myself that I had forgotten. Sometimes you need someone else to point out what is worthy in yourself because we forget our value.

This is an amazing place. Wheteher you lurk, post daily or post weekly...please know you are touching someone elses life by just being here. A place where there is no judgement...no gossip...just human beings doing what they were put on this earth to do...supporting one another through comfort, advice and most important...faith.

Thanks to each of you for making an impact on my life in the short week and a half I have been a member here. I hope you come away from this experience better, stronger and more self assure that you are a part of something bigger than yourself...You Are a Part of a Family.

:wave2: Hi, Everyone!:wave2:

I would really like to join your group. It seems that everyone on this thread is so supportive and friendly and maybe that's what I need as a motivation to shape up and get healthy. A little about myself: I'm a 28 year old college student (scary :scared1: ). I hoping to make it into the nursing program this fall and currently holding a 4.0 GPA. I love scrapbooking. I take way too many photos when traveling. I walk at the local YMCA through a college program. I love flavored water (Crystal Light or Wal-Mart version). My biggest downfall: in-laws, love them dearly & get along with them better than my own family, but they love to eat out and usually they buy. :rolleyes1 Last night, Pizza Hut. Friday night, McDonalds. I'm going to do better, I promise. Now, if someone could tell me what I need to do, then I would really appreciate it. Thanks so much!

Fran

Checking in to send a big  to Melinda, hope all gets resolved and DD's wrist is OK!

aw Melinda... well good for you for sleepin in!! DD 10 here is our drama princess - she had a hermit crab as well... she doesnt take the end of their lives well either! We adopted guinea pigs from petfinders.com... well one mornin the pig was whining, and walking funny, and I saw blood in the cage, I went to bed in tears.... dh heard dd tears, and called a vet, who said bring her in.... so dh knew he wouldnt be able to survive the guilt from dd if he didnt try everything for her pet...

The vet gave dd the bad news, the pig had a tumor on her back and was suffering so they needed to put her to sleep... dd knew what this meant, and with soulful eyes asked the vet if she could stay with her pet as it crossed the Rainbow bridge, because no one should pass over alone...

dh said all of them were crying, dd was so sweet, so brave, she didnt break down until after the pig passed... and again, she soothed that pet, stroking it telling it what was happening... and mind you, I STAYED HOME - crying, but safe at home!! DH related the story, and he was in tears relating the story to me!

The vet didnt charge us a penny - mainly due to the fact that dd is one special angel!!

(and yes I'm crying just remembering!)

:grouphug: :grouphug:

Ok, this story needs to come with a tear-jerker warning! I am so sappy when it comes to animal stories!

Don't buy those things! Get them outta the house! Feed them to the dog, the neighbor, anything! Unlike a party where you can take one an walk away, boxes of these kinds of things in your house are a recipe for disaster. (Little Debbie swiss rolls for me.) We're here for you, Shannon.

Remember....make good choices!!! [/B]

Thanks! I started out with a better outlook today and ready not to make those silly mistakes again! About your older DD - for lack of a better word - that really stinks! While she was taking all the blame, did anyone bother to ask where her "DF" got the alcohol that was in the bottle or are they blaming your DD for that as well? I'm sure once the shock, anger, and fear subside the truth will come out and they will realize that your DD didn't do anything wrong. Pixie dust pixiedust: for her and your younger DD's wrist! Ouch!

Happy Sunday to all!

Last night I was lying in bed reading when I remembered the story about dismom's ( I think it was dismon) jeans! Well In November 1995 I bought a pair of jeans at Coldwater Creek. The jeans cost like 60 dollars and they were having a sale wear if you bought two pair the 2nd pair was only $20. The jeans I was buying were blue denim jeans. Well I was in a hurry so I just grabbed another pair, same size, same style, but a different color (rust ~they're really pretty) Well I got home and the rust ones didn't fit!:scared1: I mean nowhere near to fitting. I couldn't even button them! So they have been sitting in my closet for 15 months and they still have the tags on them. So I popped outta bed and tried them on last night and they fit! And they are so comfortable!!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Firstly; WOOO HOOOTY on getting into the jeans! Secondly; I want in your time warp if 11/95 to present day is only 15 mos.

melinda~I hope the girls are doing ok today. I really feel for DD17, I know she was trying to help her friend but sadly, she'll probably get the blame for the outcome because she didn't alert the facilty of the situation until there was a serious issue. It's a really fine line to walk and I think she's handling it well all things considered.

I know that was a very sad night but what a touching story. As some one who's in the veterinary profession I can tell you she has a greater understanding and more compasion than some of the 'adults' I've seen in that situation.

Fran~ :welcome: You'll have a good time here and get lots of support. You can pick your own eating and exercise plan, post your meals and exercise as often or as seldom as you choose, weigh ins are on Fri, post your progress (Utahthreadmama likes it in bold, please.) Oh and one final thing, very early in the morning, just before the sun comes up is the crack of Bob.

Dawn~ What a sweet thing to say. I agree, we may never know what we say or do that has an great impact on someone else.

I've been good today. I ate a bit mor Long John Silvers than I planned on yesterday so I have to be as good as possible today. DH bought snacks for the game tonight and plans on having a grand time indulging.......... I on the other hand have to be a bit more restrained. We have a shrimp platter and I bought small bags of sunchips, and WW ice cream sandwiches. I have fruit and veggies in the house so I can snack on those too. I did forgot to get a WW pizza though so I have to make something else for dinner.

I logged 45 mins ont he TM this am. 3.1mph in my crocs. I don't ususally wear them on the TM but 1) I wasn't planning on walking that long and 2) Once I started, I wanted to see if I could do the entire hour in them. The only reason I quit was because I haven't walked in more than a week and I ran out of oomph.

I've got laundry to do so I'd better get my franny out of this chair.

And just for Sandy:
GO BEARS!!!
I am not a Colts fan so I hope to see them lose tonight!

Welcome! !

DisneyDawn-
What a nice post!

Really struggling this week!We were supposed to go to dinner last night and DH was pushing for steak house where there is no "diet" food. Well, the wait was 1 1/2 hrs so we went to local Japanese place and I got the hibachi dinner (petite filet, veggies, rice, chicken broth soup and a salad with diet coke. I did splurge and have the green tea ice cream but after 2 bites I decided it wasnt worth wasting my calories on)I think I may have sleep apnea which scares the heck out of me.But I keep waking up with a dry bloody tongue and I am sooooo tired that sitting here typing is hard. have no energy to walk and my Disney trip is fast approaching. I have so much to lose before we go so my bathing suit will fit and I will be able to enjoy the trip. Please send pixie dust;) Ooh , I didnt realize I was whining until I was done venting. Hope that it is ok. My DH does not want to hear me complain.he thinks I am happily typing away:rolleyes1

Lexmelinda-How is DD today? I hope she does not get into trouble. It sounds like she tried to help her not too smart friend.

Feels like I've been on an emotional rollercoaster reading all of this morning's posts.

 to Melinda and her DD. BTW, I have been eating real chocolate and have been trying to do it sparingly, but that got me into BIG trouble last weekend! So I thought I'd try some of the other options out there. DH loves chocolate cake, so it will give him something chocolatey and snacky to have around this week. Don't think I'll buy them again though . . .

:thumbsup2 to mousehouselover on the jeans and princessv on the Woo Hooty!

Fran, glad you joined the party: Welcome!!! You will LOVE it here!

Eeyore, I have to say that I'm not a spider fan either, but your siggie spiders are pretty cute.

I will be watching the Superbowl for the commercials and halftime. It's not a big event for us. Most likely we'll watch something else on a DVD and TiVo it so we can zip through it to see the commercials! Sacrilege, I know!!!

GO COLTS!!!!

getting geared up to go watch some football...made some Redneck Caviar, and some skinny poppers, but the cheese melted out of them and they look pretty gross, my DS8 looks at DH and whispers "what IS that?" so I dont guess those will get eaten...

sexy Lexy - so sorry to hear about your DD doing the right thing and getting the shaft...seems like that happens to good folks all the time..

so I am really tired for some reason and gonna go take a nap...later

I only have a minute, it took me a long time to catch up but I have to say....
GO COLTS!!

Melinda,:grouphug: to both DDs and keep us updated.

Pixiedust, congrats on fitting in the pants!!:cool1:

Welcome:cheer2: Fran..can we call you that?

I love all ya'll :goodvibes and I want to stay and:surfweb: but I have to get my food ready to take to the superbowl party.:happytv:

BTW,thanks for all the :cheer2: about me fitting in the pants.Harley and Dragonfly will agree with me when I say my hard part is coming up.I can lose weight but have NEVER maintained it.I am determined to do it when I get done losing this time.

Hi everyone!

I'm back from our Disney trip, came home to 16 degree weather :scared1: . It was overall an ok trip. Lots of good things happened, lots of bad things happened. I will write a trip report sometime soon.

I got on the scale this morning and it read 192.0, .5 lbs lighter than last week. I ate lots of dessert at Disney, but did lots of walking too. I'm going to try and get back into the eating-right-mode and try to have a weight loss for this week coming up. It will be hard because I will be traveling on business which means a) no exercise and b) usually fast food.

I was thinking about you all on my trip and am so glad that I have such a supportive group to come home to!

Hey you DIS guys. What a great idea to do this weight-loss support thing. I haven't been on the board much in a few months because of craziness in my life. However, I'm back now & trying to get caught up EVERYWHERE ... how hard is THAT? Any way, I just found this. I must say I'm inspired. I intended to make "getting healthy" ... well, heathier, anyway ... a new year's resolution, but the the NY just flew right by & I didn't make any resolutions.

Maybe now ... with support from the likes of you all ... I can get started ... if this ship hasn't already sailed without me!

Howdy---On this lovely game day. About to head out. Sending  to all who need it and :welcome: Fran.

Remember I am trying to compile a list of who all wants to go to the meet in Jan. Let me know even if you are still not sure. Let me know what days you will be there, if your running or walking, and if you wold like to share a room with someone. Just PM me the info.

Have a great game day!!

Hi all! I just discovered this and would like to join if I may?! I'm Jess, I'm 30 and about 7 years ago I joined WW and lost 65 lbs, so I KNOW that it can be done. Over the last 5 or so I've slowly gained back 30 of it, around 10 in the last 9 mos or so. SO - DH and I are going to Key West and Disney in 3 mos. I want to lose at least 15 lbs before we go. I started a new job a couple months ago and this office isn't nearly as bad with the snacking and eating out as my last one, so that will help. I've joined Curves and am determined to make going there 3-4 times/week a part of normal routine, and we're already eating better. Neither of us have a sweet tooth AT ALL so that's never been a problem, but I LOVE CARBS!! I'm trying very hard to eat more protein and less carbs. I really started watching myself and exercising last week and have lost 2 lbs so far, I just need to stick with it!
