:lmao: Just loved the Tooth Fairy stories!

Stacey, just get back on the wagon tomorrow. You can do it! I found mysef eating some extra food tonight, so I chalked up the extras as flex points. I did do a LOT of walking (for me) while shopping today, so I'm hoping the extra activity will even it out.

I resisted garlic toast at lunch today, but ate whole wheat pita chips and hummus tonight. A healthier trade-off, all things considered.

I also had some WW chocolate cake. 1 point each. WOW! Are they are dinky!!! But not too bad if I have a chocolate craving. I also got the lemon ones because I kept seeing them on Lynda's food list. Will try them tomorrow.

I'm also trying one of the Kashi Go Lean cereals. Will probably use it as a yogurt add-in instead of the sunflower seeds I used earlier this week.

I'm hoping having more tasty, safe foods in the house this week will help.

Stacey....you'll be fine! Try really hard tomarrow. Oh man, Super Bowl food is the worst! (But the "best" too!)

Gerd you loins for GOOD choice making tomarrow!
(I stole "Gerd you loins" from The Devil Wears Prada")

Aldisneygrl- my ((whispering)) pooh is fine now. No blood. My feeling is it was all the massive amounts of wood chips with nuts and twiggs I was eating that we call Pooh Muffins! I ate like 8 on thursday...:scared1: Let's just say it was a "double flusher" friday morning!. I will get it checked if my theory no longer holds true. I promise!

I'm in need of sleep. I'm really excited that Twinkie Mama is back (YAYYYY!) but I had taken 2 Tylennol PM's a little while ago and so I'll mark my place here.

Good Night you Skinny Minnie's!!!! I truly am thankful for all of you! :grouphug:

Al - he actually ended up in GA. It was right across the Alabama line on 20. I am about 1 and half hours from Mobile. Love my car. It is a black 2002 Kia Spectra in great condition.

I GOT IN THEM!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I got some jeans for Christmas 2005 that did not fit but I have never taken them back. They became the jeans I was determined to wear.A couple more weeks of hard work I will able to breathe.:goodvibes

WOOOOOHOOOOOOTY!!!

:lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I remember HS and college... laying on the bed and using a coat hanger as a "handle" to help zip my jeans... and they looked darn good too! :cool2:

WowI remember doing this too!

eeyore ! WOO HOOTY on the smaller size and now...

DITTO! from me and
WOOOHOOOOTY Harley! I am getting closer to a thousand!

Last night a big problem. DS doesnt have $400 necessary to pay the rent (he's been working 20 -30 hours often at night till 3 or 4 am) and with the Winter break, no work, he thought he had it covered... but no.. well I came here, and our bank account was depleted (books for those kids, heat, gas, phone... *sigh) dh was so stressed, it was zapping my fun!! Yes, I felt guilty, but what can you do?? Give it to God of course!!

God answered our prayers - the mail came today (dh missed the train, and was not happy, he was so stressed, Bless his heart!!) He called, my paycheck came in the mail - "OPEN IT, and put it in the bank!!" he opens it... (usually I work 3 days, and yes I took off work, so I knew it was only around $200... nope... I GOT A BONUS!! :woohoo: $400 paycheck baby!! :woohoo:

can I get an AMEN!! PTL!!

I love it when God "wows" us with just what we need, when we need it!

GUESS WHAT??? Here's a hint: I have managed to weasel a DisneyLand trip in for 20 days from now!!!!!! YAY!!!! It's a weekender, Feb 23-27th...

It'll be Riley's 7th birthday and my sister in California just had a baby at Christmas time and she INSISTS we stay in her brand new house in Riverside! No problem there!!!! So, I want to make 3 ADR's for DisneyLand and California Adventure. Do people do that? I've never ADR'd California but I really want to take my family to that Blue Bayou inside POC. Do they have LTT there? I gotta do some homework!

Oh, and we're driving! Send me all your post-surgery leftover pain meds ASAP so I will be pleasant for the drive. OR, we'll drag out the DVD players and Duct Tape. That is a boring drive through Nevada, just endless miles of Yucca and sagebrush .

I gotta do a ticker! Here's My rough draft:

20 days till Family Fun Road Trip with Duct Tape and Percocet:

Yippeee! That sounds great! How long a drive is it? I have Lortab - made me sick! You really need to get your problem checked out before you leave! Ummm, before you start another tr, we still have one more day to go!

DizneyDawn - Your kids are gorgeous!

DizneyDawn - You family is Beautiful! Thanks for sharing with us. I have a DS (13), he could have himself a harem with all these girls. (No, not really)

DH is watching a movie in the other room, and I need to go join him. :happytv: Night Peeps! Good luck with the Super Bowl snacks tomorrow!

I finally got caught up. Is it too late to post my weight loss for this week? Down 1 lb. That puts me back at a total of 3, right where I was before Christmas. I couldn't get on yesterday because after work DH and I went to our Ground Hog Day Prom, and kicked up our heels. We put in 2 hours of booty-shaking, then today we went to DS's school and hiked around up and down the hills on campus. I love when exercise is disguised as fun!
How many calories does shivering burn? :rotfl: I hear the Iditarod (sp) people used to eat sticks of BUTTER to help keep the furnaces stoked, so that cheesecake doesn't stand a chance!:thumbsup2

When I had my cheesecake slipup last week, I came home and looked up the calories:between 700-900. A stick of butter: 960. Not very far apart. I even said to DH, that's almost like eating a stick of butter! Now I just need to borrow my next door neighbor's malamutes and get mushing!

I GOT IN THEM!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

I got some jeans for Christmas 2005 that did not fit but I have never taken them back. They became the jeans I was determined to wear.A couple more weeks of hard work I will able to breathe.:goodvibes

Hurray for you. That's definitely something to be proud of:thumbsup2

can I get a WOOO HOOTY on my 400th post!!!

Wooo Hoooty!

Dang it. We were talking about a DL trip that weekend, but then the Reno trip to see the Who came up. We'll be like two skinny ships that pass in the night.
Don't forget to get a B-day pin for Riley, so all the CMs can make a fuss. And yes, make an ADR for Blue Bayou. It books up fast.

:cheer2: for everybody. You peeps are the best!

I need to make a confession as well. I posted that I did good today but after my last little snack, I couldn't stop. I needed something sweet so I had 3 entenmann's chocolate cereal bars which are 3 pts each! Stupid, stupid :sad2: . I know that those things are a trigger food for me so I don't know why I buy them but I did. The only positive is that I wrote it down and counted the points for every bite I put in my mouth.

I'm really close to my 200th post :woohoo: ! Better make it good!

*Shannon

Up early, dh is snorin... something weird is happening, I cant get past page 396 = so thought I'd catch up with what I've been missin...

(my memory says, Hope someone figured out what was wrong with their PM box... glad it wasnt PMs botherin you!!)

MySpace, and the Dis friend list - I'm still behind the times...

The Tooth Fairy came to our house last night .... TWICE!!!!

They made me leave the light on because (1.) they were a little askeerd that a fairy would be pillaging under their pillows in the middle of the night and (2.) they wanted to catch her in the act!!!!!:rotfl2: I love that they still have magic in their lives!

After reading my first sentence above, did you think the tooth fairy left money twice on the same kid? Like, her DH didnt think she remembered and did it himself? THAT would be sooooo likely. Either that or having the Tooth Fairy plumb-forget her duties (much more likely). Or there was the time the Tooth Fairy gave the $20 in her wallet instead of the $5 because it was too dark and she's dingy. Happy kid, though!

THE SAME TF comes to our house!! :rotfl2: That is the sweetest story!! When ds was on his "last" tooth for the tooth fairy, he wrote a note "demanding" $5! I was not amused, I saved the note because I thought , someday I will be amused!! :rotfl2: Now that we're old, DS has been known to help the TF, we fall asleep -- Now the greatest ToothFairy helper is the ToothBear = I cant believe you Peeps dont have a TF Helper!! Since DS was little we have this bear (white of all colors!) that has angel wings, and a pocket, and it says ToothBear, so the kids put their lost teeth in the pocket, and sits it next to the dresser - it really helps the stealth tooth fairy out with light sleepers!! Plus our TF leaves lots of coins, the kids never know how much they'll get, they have to count!!

Dawn your kids are beautiful...what a great looking bunch!!!
:goodvibes I know I didnt mention it, but I agree = and what, you're in MN, and arent up at the crack of bob with HOCKEY??? Many many Hockey mornins here- ds started playin at 4yrs of age, its a disease I tell ya!! Thanks Dawn for sharin yourself with us!! and I always wear my glasses when I Dis, so I got a good look at your gorgeous mug shot!!

I will put a list together of who is going to the meet in Jan. Just pm me and let me know the following--which race you are doing, are you a cheerleader, do you need a roomate. Also let me know which days you are going. I love to organize stuff. Sorry if someone is already compiling a list.
Knew I picked the right person to needle into doing a list!! Thanks Pigget! Again, I'm hoping for a half marathon, but to tell you the truth, my shins are killing me today!! I've walked maybe 6--8 miles in the last 3 days...

:dance3: WOO HOOTY, HARLEY!!!:dance3:

Gotta go back and catch up...feel like I've missed some things.

SANDY....Love Wicked!!! DD bought the soundtrack on CD in SC this summer and we listened to it all the way home. (When we were reading the words you posted, she ran upstairs to get it and realized her hermit crab was dead. Lots of screaming/crying, mascara running. The drama that is .......13!?! Calgon, take me away!)

I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return

SO TRUE!!!

Just wanted to read those words again!! Mornin Melinda~~ :cutie:

Now I hope this posts beyond pg 325!!

Last night I was lying in bed reading when I remembered the story about dismom's ( I think it was dismon) jeans! Well In November 1995 I bought a pair of jeans at Coldwater Creek. The jeans cost like 60 dollars and they were having a sale wear if you bought two pair the 2nd pair was only $20. The jeans I was buying were blue denim jeans. Well I was in a hurry so I just grabbed another pair, same size, same style, but a different color (rust ~they're really pretty) Well I got home and the rust ones didn't fit!:scared1: I mean nowhere near to fitting. I couldn't even button them! So they have been sitting in my closet for 15 months and they still have the tags on them. So I popped outta bed and tried them on last night and they fit! And they are so comfortable!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Does this mean no one has posted since wonders last night?? :confused3

WHERE IS EVERYBODY?

The superbowl doesnt start for another 12 hours!!

GO BEARS

:yay: :yay: :yay: HAPPY SUPER BOWL DAY, PEEPS!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: MAKE GOOD CHOICES...
I didn't wake up til 7:00 am this morning! I KNOW!!! Most of you that know me know I'm usually posting by 5:30 every morning. (This would be a "lie-in day" for me, Jo!)

Well, last night was bad. After the tragic death of Travis, the hermit crab, I took DD13 to her first boy/girl party. Half way through the party, the parents called. DD had fallen on the ice/snow and injured her wrist. DH picked her up....sobbing, crying, ice packs...we'll see how it looks today as we think it's just a sprain. But tears all evening....for missing out on the party. :sad2:

Even worse, DD17 went to a big fancy school dance that she's been looking forward to for months. Bought the dress right after Christmas. (Now there's NO drama with this kid...I mean none.) Came home crying at midnight. Story: Her boyfriend was out of town so she took one of her girlfriends with her. They met up with some other girls for dinner and then headed out to the dance...DD driving. DF pulls some liquor out of her purse. DD didn't know what it was. It was in a water bottle.

DF asked DD if she could drink and DD said she prefered not but the silly girl drank it anyway so DD spent the entire evening babysitting DF who could hardly stand. Then DF gets pale, adults are called, she pukes, passes out, the ambulance is called, and her parents are called. DD has to answer a lot of questions from chaperones and EMTs. The lights were turned on...dance ended...whole school knows why. DF is taken to the ambulance to have her stomach pumped.

DD is absolutely horrified. She feels powerless in the situation althought there seem to be many who were looking to her for answers and blame. She's a good kid...no drinking, no smoking, no drugs....just blessed to have her....honestly. The chaperone who went to the car with DD to retrieve DF stuff was a mom from church who questioned DD pretty well and had a very sarcastic tone according to DD. DD feels guilty and humiliated by association. She was still crying when she went up to her room.

Don't think she will have the option to spend time with DF again anytime soon. I know her mom (teacher) and dad (seminary professor) and she will be lucky if she gets to go to senior prom next year. :sad2:

Thanks for listening.

She swallowed it, and we found it two days later in her poop. I got it out and cleaned it up and it is in her baby book. :rotfl: :rotfl2:
I found the shiniest penny in DD17's diaper when she was about 2. Those digestive juices had it looking newly minted. My mom asked me if I saved it?!? NO!!! You're a better mom than me, Allie! Loved the tooth fairy story. Our tooth fairy (DH!) has missed us a few times too. We had some splainin to do!!! Good save, BTW!
CONFESSION TIME
Stacey.....the way I look at it...my goal is to try to eat healthy. Bad, yummy foods are gonna come your way. It doesn't hurt to have one as long as you don't go overboard. So don't beat yourself up and have some super bowl treats....just be good the rest of the week!
I also had some WW chocolate cake. 1 point each. WOW! Are they are dinky!!! But not too bad if I have a chocolate craving.
Cheryl.......I eat real chocolate....hershey kisses. I actually bought a bag of "special dark" kisses at the grocery store the other day. I don't think I've ever actually bought chocolate for myself before. Anyway, they are about 25 calories each and I'd rather have real chocolate any day over a choclate dessert.
I had 3 entenmann's chocolate cereal bars which are 3 pts each! Stupid, stupid :sad2: .
Don't buy those things! Get them outta the house! Feed them to the dog, the neighbor, anything! Unlike a party where you can take one an walk away, boxes of these kinds of things in your house are a recipe for disaster. (Little Debbie swiss rolls for me.) We're here for you, Shannon.

Remember....make good choices!!! Nebo has now posted the Bear's 10 commandents over on his TR. Go have a look!

Have a blessed Super Bowl Sunday!!!

So I popped outta bed and tried them on last night and they fit! And they are so comfortable!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
:yay: :yay: :yay: YAY, PIXIE!!! What a great feeling! Rust jeans?? Sound cute!!! Way to go, ya big loser! ;)
WHERE IS EVERYBODY?

The superbowl doesnt start for another 12 hours!!

GO BEARS
Good morning, Sandy! Sorry I slept in. ;) Hope you're having fun in Chicago. I need to go up for a visit as my niece is at University of Chicago. Only 5 hour drive for us.

aw Melinda... well good for you for sleepin in!! DD 10 here is our drama princess - she had a hermit crab as well... she doesnt take the end of their lives well either! We adopted guinea pigs from petfinders.com... well one mornin the pig was whining, and walking funny, and I saw blood in the cage, I went to bed in tears.... dh heard dd tears, and called a vet, who said bring her in.... so dh knew he wouldnt be able to survive the guilt from dd if he didnt try everything for her pet...

The vet gave dd the bad news, the pig had a tumor on her back and was suffering so they needed to put her to sleep... dd knew what this meant, and with soulful eyes asked the vet if she could stay with her pet as it crossed the Rainbow bridge, because no one should pass over alone...

dh said all of them were crying, dd was so sweet, so brave, she didnt break down until after the pig passed... and again, she soothed that pet, stroking it telling it what was happening... and mind you, I STAYED HOME - crying, but safe at home!! DH related the story, and he was in tears relating the story to me!

The vet didnt charge us a penny - mainly due to the fact that dd is one special angel!!

(and yes I'm crying just remembering!)

as for your other DD... you probably should call the school on Monday to make sure she doesnt get suspended by association, I would look at the school's handbook and be prepared!! I would advise your dd to make sure she is clear that she not only didnt know her friend was bringing the alcohol but she told her friend NO... she is guilty of being kind, and a child... dont let them accuse your dd unjustly!!

:grouphug: :grouphug:

:yay: :yay: :yay: YAY, PIXIE!!! What a great feeling! Rust jeans?? Sound cute!!! Way to go, ya big loser! ;)

WOOHOOTY indeed!! Also, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Coldwater Creek - they have awesome sales, online too.. I cant wait to fit in their cute stuff - they have some 1X and 2X but not nearly enough!!

Good morning, Sandy! Sorry I slept in. ;) Hope you're having fun in Chicago. I need to go up for a visit as my niece is at University of Chicago. Only 5 hour drive for us.

I thought I was going crazy Melinda - sorry your sleep in wasnt for better reasons!!

AND if you come up this way, I sure hope you'll give me a heads up so we can do a mini meet - Macy's on State Street has a good fast food type place on their 7th floor!! Salads, Mexican, Asian Bowl... COME ON UP!! (or over, or down...!!! lol )

PS if any peeps want the spider luv - just snag 'em by right clicking on the pic, save it to your computer... then upload it over at photobucket, then you can put it in your siggy lines too!!

Not that I"m trying to get to 5,000 or anything... :rolleyes1

UTM and other peeps that have asked - get thee some dried plums (otherwise known as prunes!!) you will go go go!! TRUST ME!!

When I first went back to work when DS was 2, I worked in a daycare infant room, and didnt realize that the Jewish faith believes in fasting, and cleaning everything during high Holy Days.. and that included the babies... prunes... cleaned them right out!! Talk about diaper changes!! :rotfl2:

and from then on, when I had babies... that first time... :rolleyes1 (mind you my babies were all 10# plus, all delivered naturally with the grace of God!!) Thanks to Prunes, it was no problem!!

UUURRRGGGG, this just makes me crazy. I feel so badly for you DD. There she was trying to do the right thing and everyone seems to really want to implicate her. SImilar thing happened to me in high school, so I'm really feeling for her. Why can't people just accept that teeneagers have choices to make and sometimes they make the wrong choice all on their own. Not every kid is doing the same thing as her friends. Ok, rant over. ((HUG)) for you and your DD.

SO a whole lot of Peeps are getting back into their skinny clothes? Way to go! I had to break out the FAT jeans, myself. Stacey's not alone - we had a King Cake at work Fri. and let's just say I kept up the search for that baby all day. :sad2: I' like to say I'll make up for it today, but know that won't happen. My throat's killing me, glands are swollen, and pulled something in my back lifting DS to see a fish at the Aquarium yesterday. I'll work on eating better today, and get back on the exercise wagon tomorrow, I promise! Thanks for supporting me even when I fall :grouphug:

Wooooo hoooooty

WHEN THE HECK DID I HIT 1000 POSTS???!!!

WOOOO HOOOTY!!!!

Probably over on that FOCKER board.. that was hilarious.. I was lurking there awhile ago!!!

Melinda- so sorry about your daughter. Hopefully, others will see that it was not her fault. Unfortunately sometimes people rush to judgement!

Oh and I forgot who asked where Grumpy was going in South Dakota- He is going to Sioux Falls Today!!

Melinda- WOW what a 24 hours! GOd BLess! SO sorry to hear about DD night. One of the older girls in our neighborhood did something similarily and it really frightened some of the kids in the neighborhood. WE lived behind a park and all the other kids forze as to hwat to do, thankfully my sister heard all the racket and called and stayed with the girl and also had many ?s to answer, and wasn't even there she just heard the screaming from our backyard. Oddly enough her family was a bit miffed at my sister for getting an ambulance. You would think they would have been thankful it could have been very different. It seems appearances were more important.

Hopefully it will give her family a wake up call and get the poor thing some help. I think your daughter had a hard role to play by being the accountable one for the evening and that was very brave of her to stand and take al the questions. I pray the other kids see how GLAMOURUS it looked! Hopefully it will prevent or give second thought to one other teen.

I will keep you and DD in my prayers as well as your entire family. What a reminder of good parenting the fact that she could TALK about all the events of last night! What a reminder of how trust and faith in a parent is so important in these "life moments". That is a blessing! Hang in there you are making a difference!!

Sandy are you home now?? Now about the spiders...... it is the one creature that will set this girl screaming!!! All my life it has been a great sourse of entertainment of those near and dear...my spider aversion!!!! Even DS buddies get in on the action!!!

Now tihs is coming from the Irish Catholic girl Sandy, brakfst of my childhhod champion, prunes, 1 tbsp of cod liver oil totally yucky!!! In winter always had some good warm oatmeal...mind you my touches to the healthy oatmeal were butter sugar and some milk ontop!!! I think I toook all the heart healthy value out of it!!!
