HAPPY SUPER BOWL DAY, PEEPS!!!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: MAKE GOOD CHOICES...
I didn't wake up til 7:00 am this morning!

I KNOW!!! Most of you that know me know I'm usually posting by 5:30 every morning. (This would be a "lie-in day" for me, Jo!)
Well, last night was bad. After the tragic death of Travis, the hermit crab, I took DD13 to her first boy/girl party. Half way through the party, the parents called. DD had fallen on the ice/snow and injured her wrist. DH picked her up....sobbing, crying, ice packs...we'll see how it looks today as we think it's just a sprain. But tears all evening....for missing out on the party.
Even worse, DD17 went to a big fancy school dance that she's been looking forward to for months. Bought the dress right after Christmas. (Now there's NO drama with this kid...I mean none.) Came home crying at midnight. Story: Her boyfriend was out of town so she took one of her girlfriends with her. They met up with some other girls for dinner and then headed out to the dance...DD driving. DF pulls some liquor out of her purse. DD didn't know what it was. It was in a water bottle.
DF asked DD if she could drink and DD said she prefered not but the silly girl drank it anyway so DD spent the entire evening babysitting DF who could hardly stand. Then DF gets pale, adults are called, she pukes, passes out, the ambulance is called, and her parents are called. DD has to answer a lot of questions from chaperones and EMTs. The lights were turned on...dance ended...whole school knows why. DF is taken to the ambulance to have her stomach pumped.
DD is absolutely horrified. She feels powerless in the situation althought there seem to be many who were looking to her for answers and blame. She's a good kid...no drinking, no smoking, no drugs....just blessed to have her....honestly. The chaperone who went to the car with DD to retrieve DF stuff was a mom from church who questioned DD pretty well and had a very sarcastic tone according to DD. DD feels guilty and humiliated by association. She was still crying when she went up to her room.
Don't think she will have the option to spend time with DF again anytime soon. I know her mom (teacher) and dad (seminary professor) and she will be lucky if she gets to go to senior prom next year.
Thanks for listening.
She swallowed it, and we found it two days later in her poop. I got it out and cleaned it up and it is in her baby book.
I found the shiniest penny in DD17's diaper when she was about 2. Those digestive juices had it looking newly minted. My mom asked me if I saved it?!?

NO!!! You're a better mom than me, Allie! Loved the tooth fairy story. Our tooth fairy (DH!) has missed us a few times too. We had some splainin to do!!! Good save, BTW!
Stacey.....the way I look at it...my goal is to try to eat healthy. Bad, yummy foods are gonna come your way. It doesn't hurt to have one as long as you don't go overboard. So don't beat yourself up and have some super bowl treats....just be good the rest of the week!
I also had some WW chocolate cake. 1 point each. WOW! Are they are dinky!!! But not too bad if I have a chocolate craving.
Cheryl.......I eat real chocolate....hershey kisses. I actually bought a bag of "special dark" kisses at the grocery store the other day. I don't think I've ever actually bought chocolate for myself before. Anyway, they are about 25 calories each and I'd rather have real chocolate any day over a choclate dessert.
I had 3 entenmann's chocolate cereal bars which are 3 pts each! Stupid, stupid

.
Don't buy those things! Get them outta the house! Feed them to the dog, the neighbor, anything! Unlike a party where you can take one an walk away, boxes of these kinds of things in your house are a recipe for disaster. (Little Debbie swiss rolls for me.) We're here for you, Shannon.
Remember....make good choices!!! Nebo has now posted the Bear's 10 commandents over on his TR.

Go have a look!
Have a blessed Super Bowl Sunday!!!
