Disapointed with Decorations

:confused3People give their opinions, you give yours. I suspect some "wish" some people would stop complaining as often as possible. But that is your right. It seems to fulfill your needs. Posting the positive fulfills other's needs.

When I see Disney going downhill in many ways, I will post the negative as well as the positive! I don't live in "la la land. As many "OTHER" people have posted the downhill of Disney so do I, as with the positive! Maybe YOU should re-read what I write.

Have a magical day! LOL

My wife, who never complains about ANYTHING, was shaking her head about the lack of lights in Epcot last night. They haven't even bothered to string those cheap white lights from the trees! Disappointing is a mild term. And the train under the tree in the America pavillion is not there.

I had to go back into the theater in America to retrieve my backpack and the CM apologized that I had to wait a little while because they were short staffed. What's up with that?

We go every year during this time and just got back. There were definitely fewer decorations. It was noticeable, whereas last year I heard the same thing but couldn't really tell.

On the other hand, we went to MVMCP on the 7th and the park was almost empty (it was freezing!) and had one of the best nights ever in the Magic Kingdom. The cast members were all so lively and happy because they had fewer people to deal with that it was just a great time.

To be fair, many of the people who "make excuses for Disney" have, on many occasions, also noted things that they do not like about Disney or are pet peeves. So ... just as you do not always post the negative, they are not always posting an excuse. None of us here reads EVERYTHING that every other person writes. Just because you're being negative here doesn't mean you're negative everywhere.

You don't like it when people give an excuse for something that you feel Disney is doing wrong. Just as others don't like it when you complain about something they don't think is a problem.

You wish people didn't make excuses for Disney. Other people wish that people didn't complain. Same thing ... different side. No one is right and no one is wrong. They're just opinions.

Nor do I.
Nor do I live in the land of the entitled or negative.
I go to Disney yearly... I don't see the the negatives people whine about here.
Do thing change? yes. But change isn't an automatice excuss to say downhill.

Personally I feel that Disney is great as ever.

But the disboards? That's going downhill with more and more people who feel entitled.

I won't aplogize for going to Disney and have a great time and NOT having a pety gripe to compain about on the boards for people to pile on about.

And who lives in the land of the entitled? Please do tell! Unbelievable! There are many on this board that see problems with Disney we report the negative and positive, the likes and dislikes. Where are you getting this entitled accusation from? Are you always this arrogant?

It seems like someone who says "we live in the land of the entitled" is missing the fact that we are Disney's customers. We are ENTITLED to getting what we feel is our money's worth. Disney does not exist out of the kindness of their heart. They exist to draw consumers. When something is unpleasant to the consumer, it is their job to voice that displeasure, and then the corporation's job to make adjustments based on that. The consumer IS entitled.

:worship::thumbsup2:worship::thumbsup2 THANK YOU LOU! Well said. We only want what Disney advertises...."The Disney Standard".

That's true. But different people find different things "unpleasant." If you really hate something at WDW and I happen to think that thing is really terrific, who is correct? If the corporation makes an adjustment based on your displeasure, that may make you happy and feeling as though you are getting your money's worth. But then I'm unhappy and complain that I'm entitled to get my money's worth too. And we're right back to where we started.

I think the sticking point in the above exchange is that each person feels that they are completely right and the other person is completely wrong. One person feels that the park is slipping and the other person feels that it is not. Both are passionate about those opinions. And instead of simply accepting each others' opinions and moving on, or having a civil discussion about the difference of opinion, they have both chosen to put a stake in the ground and call each other names.

So ... there you go.

Is there a group thrilled with the lack of decorations in the parks?
:lmao: I agree adding Christmas decorations back to the resort shouldn't make anyone feel they are not getting their money's worth as that is something added not taken away. :)
If they continue to take away the Christmas stuff then who is going to be willing to pay their outrageous hotel prices for Christmas? Especially when you can go any other time of year for considerably less money and less crowds too.:confused3

Is there a group thrilled with the lack of decorations in the parks?
:lmao: No ... I'm sure that there is no one who is "thrilled with the lack of decorations."

But I know that there are people who are thrilled with what they see when they walk into the parks. I'm in the parks every day, and every day I hear people say how amazing the decorations are on Main Street or how they were blown away by the Osborne Lights. I've even heard people who thought the decorations at Epcot were lovely and who thought the Epcot tree was really beautiful.

Now ... maybe those people are stupid and simple and just don't have a clue how terrible and disappointing the decorations are. Maybe they've never been to WDW before and have nothing to compare it to. Maybe they walked in with no expectations or are just thrilled to be on vacation. Who knows? But yes, there are people who think WDW at Christmas is really magical and think Disney is giving them exactly what they're paying for.

I don't doubt that you and others are disappointed, and I think your POV is valid and, in some cases, justified. But just because you're disappointed with what you see doesn't make the people who are not disappointed wrong.

If you are looking for Christmas decorations and spirit go visit the GrandFloridian . They the best decorations of any of the Disney hotels. A huge Christmas tree in the lobby, the gingerbread house, live holiday music, lots of poinsettias in the landscaping, etc. They are also giving out roasted chestnuts and hot apple cider.

I'm sorry I usually don't respond to TROLLS, but this is your second post attacking me. Your first one is an attack on me also. I'm reporting you to the moderator. You're not here for a discussion of like vs dislikes, you are harrassing me with your rude disgusting behavior.

We are ENTITLED to getting what we feel is our money's worth.

That's pushing it a little. The consumer is only entitled to what is being offered. We have obligations as consumers too. We should understand what we are buying. Purchasing blind is reckless.

Disney does not exist out of the kindness of their heart.

Of course they aren't. They are in the business of making money. None of this wonderful world Walt created would exist otherwise. They have, and will continue to, make decisions to improve the bottom line. Welcome to the world of capitalism and freedom of enterprise.

People need to stop complaining- just be happy!!!!!!!!:)

Life is too short to worry about the lack of Christmas decorations. You are in Disney World with your family, enjoy it, and life every moment up!!!

I was just in Disney World and was amazed by how beautiful it was. I have never seen the Epcot lights so maybe my POV would change but it was absolutely beautiful.

If you want to see characters is Holiday Spirit go to Animal Kingdom. Camp Minnie Mickey was one of my favorite places. It was sooo cute. Every character has their own tree and the main characters are dressed up in Holiday Garb!!

Hi, I have just got back to the UK after our 1st December visit to Disney, we have been many times before in other months.

I thought that the decorations in the park would have been a lot better than they actually were but just to see the Osborne Lights and to see Cinderella Castle lit up with the ice lights was worth the admission fee alone, everything else was a bonus :thumbsup2

Pete.

If you don't like what someone says just put them on ignore. Being a troll probably won't change anything.

Just got back from Epcot and was also very disappointed in the lack of decorations. Really disappointed that the large train display was gone from in front of the American Pavilion, that was one thing we really wanted to see. Ever since the large display of lights in the walkway to the back section disappeared, it's gone down hill. We did enjoy seeing that walkway of lights with the music and the Christmas show that was at the tree. It was kindof a waste to go to Epcot to see decorations because there wasn't much.
