I am glad I found this. I am doing weight watchers online. I know that weight watchers allows you to eat what you want, but I am going to try for a healther lifestyle. I have lost 10 pounds already on my own, but I want an extra push so that I can go to Disney healthy, happier (but then again, who won't be happy to be at Disney!) and slimmer. Keep me in your prayers.

I though this would be a great time to introduce the 'WISH Challenge'.

I've been working on the Carbohydrate Addicts Diet since 1/30 and just now found this board. I have lost 5 pounds since the 30th and that includes me having been off the diet all of last week when I was in Mexico. But I was working hard there, 10 of us went with an organization and poured 16 concrete floors in houses where people just had dirt floors before.

So, count me in too!!!

Welcome everyone :)

Please feel free to grab the DIS WISH Clipart in the post at the top of the board. Please PM me if you need help placing it in your signature. :)

Good Luck!!

Okay, I am stepping up to the plate. I am going to accept the challange.

The plan I am going to use is well, not really a plan. I just plan to eat sensibly, limit the junk, excercise and increase my water/fluid intake.

My first goal is 10 lbs by Easter (for our Disneyland trip).

I am half afraid to say it but that is only 1/10th of what I need to loose.

Hi disneychrista! I'm inspired and joining too! I also, after my first 10 pounds, will have only lost about 1/10th what I will need to, but am excited to learn I'm not the only one!

Is it too late to take the challenge if I've I've already lost 21 pounds? I have a goal of 40, which would take me to my college weight. The diet? I call it the Disney diet. My wife said if I lost 40 pounds, I could go to Disney in June. Seems to be working.

How? Despite gaining much weight over the years, I've always managed to keep working out, mostly jogging on a tread. but age (just turned 40) and weight (went over the 40#+ overweight mark), was killing my knees. The diet is the Atkins Diet. A controversial beast, for sure. But if anyone wants opinions from a lifelong failure at low fat dieting, I'm getting sold on this one.

Do do I get my 20# icon? If not, I'll just lose another 20! And why? Lighter load=more energy=more park time in June!

Good luck everyone!

Pat

Good luck Pat, and congratulations on your success! Please visit us often. You will be very inspirational! I think we all have tried the Disney diet once or twice. It does work! Must be MAGIC! My problem is the post Disney rebound. Guess I'll just have to keep planning cruises. ;)

Nice to have you along.

Tracy

I'D LIKE TO JOIN TOO. WE'RE NOT CRUISING UNTIL 2004 BUT WOULD LIKE TO LOSE 50 FOR THIS SUMMER. ALSO HAVE KNEE PROBLEMS AND KNOW LOOSING WEIGHT WOULD REALLY HELP. THANKS FOR THE ENCOURAGEMENT. :p

I would like to take the challenge. I would like to loose some weight before the summer, and I fell upon this thread. Everyone seems very supportive of everyone else. I will be following WW and walking. I will be visiting here quite often, so let the challenge begin:)

Is it too late for me to join you guys?

I'm trying to incorporate more healthy eating and exercize in my life. (have some health issues:rolleyes: ). I hope to lose some weight along the way! We are going on a dis cruise in August, so want to be in good physical condition, ( all that walking, ok, and eating;) )

WELCOME to the gang! Be sure to check out the instructions at the top of the page and grab a WISH clippie for your signature. You can then earn new clippies as you lose in 5 pound increments while taking the WISH challenge. Sorry, but losses prior to starting the challenge don't count toward the clippies. BUT, to get credit for your accomplishment prior to the challenge, feel free to note it in your signature. Check back often!

:D

:( I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET MY DIS WISH RIBBON. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!:smooth:

I started dieting the second week of Jan. The plan was to cut calories intake period. My daily intake prior to the diet was 2,500 to 3,000. Now, I'm on 1,000 or less. For lunch, I will have either Lean Cusine or Healthy Choice (around 300 calories), then for dinner, I eat a large chinese chicken salad with half of the dressing provided.

The first three weeks yield awesome results. I have 15 pounds. However, the following three weeks yield a big fat 0 (at least I did not regain any). I have 7 more pounds before I can fit in my tux (need it for our March 29th Magic).

Exercise was an option I have choose to skip for the time being. I know I wouldn't keep up.

Wish me luck!!!

Yes, I would like to take the challenge also. I have about 60 lbs. to lose and plan to make better food choices and walk as my initial exercise effort. I have a lot of weight loss literature such as WW an Lifesteps (a program from a local hospital) By becoming informed and acting sensibly, I hope to meet my goal. Consider me IN!

Welcome to the newcomers. You'll find this board friendly and full of support and advice. Everyone is doing things their own way-some Atkins, some Weight Watchers, some Hellyer, some on their own. To get your WISH member banner, you need to check out the post "Get your clipart here". Click on the right banner, and then add that URL to your signature. And, it doesn't count in our limits! :D One clippie per sig, though, if I read the new limits correctly.

Sink, that's what I am doing too, but I figure when my body, says. "Whoa, lady! Time to get moving, that's when I'll add the beginnings of the treadmill walk. Hope that works for me!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome!

I've been out for my walk and am lookin forward to checking in with you guys on a regular basis.

COUNT ME IN!!!

My daughter lost 12 pounds in the last 3 weeks. She has a five month old son and her goal is a size 8 before we leave July 12.

I started walking two weeks ago on a stationary walker and I can tell in my pants it has helped but I really want to lose 50 pds.

It will be nice to have someone to share with.

Thanks,

Kathy

I'd love to join you guys! I started WW at home on 1/1 (New Year's resolution) and did great for the first month (lost 10 pounds!) I slacked off a bit after that and decided I should really start going to meetings to keep myself motivated and honest with the weigh-ins. I'm now down a total of 16 pounds!!

My WW weigh-in is Monday, so I will start with that weight here. We are heading to Disney on May 2 and I need to fit into my summer clothes (and bathing suit ugh) by then!!!

Take care!

Amy

I'm so glad to see more newcomers to the WISH board. I know we will all be successfull with the encouragement and good thoughts of our fellow WISH challengers.

Welcome everyone!

Katholyn

I am not going to do any real diet. Thats now what I want to do. I want to change and become more healthy in general. I want to walk more often, use my Walk Away The Pounds tapes more. Don't get me wrong, I want to lose weight. I just want to get healthier with it. :)
