Dis Mom's Club?

E3yore-
Your daughter looks so happy! It sure sounds like you've been on a roller coaster lately.

My DD was flower girl for a wedding earlier this year and she still talks about it all the time.

She loved being a flower girl. I have rose petals all over the house. I am just happy they are silk.

E3yore, I'm so sorry about your MIL. I lost my dad 4 months ago and I know how difficult it was to explain things to the kids. My DS (age 2) spent the next month calling for my dad everytime he saw a "grandpa looking" man. It was definitely hard.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful week.

My family has had a very long emotional roller coaster week. My MIL passed away last Thursday from a long illness and we were all able to say our goodbyes within hours of her death but it is still a sad time. :littleangel: We had the funeral on Wednesday and my kids have the ability to ask questions that I have no answer for when it comes to this topic.

Then her Grandson was married on Saturday and my DD was the flower girl. She was so cute and had a great time on the dance floor. It was hard to get her up on Sunday to check out of the hotel.

Eeyore, so sorry to hear about your MIL. Your daughter looks so pretty. Love her dress!

Morning DisMoms!

I had a very productive weekend. We are "destashing" and I am finally getting to the nitty gritty. :scared1:
Right now DS4 & DD4 share a room and DS10 has his own. I thought the boys could share a room for a while but DH is totally against this. I understand and he is probably right, but I think everyone should learn to share a room at some point.... but that's another topic...
Anyway.. we are moving DS10 to the basement and I am giving up my Scrapbook/Sewing/Paperwork/Schoolwork area....and I need to find homes for my stuff. It's painful!! :headache: At one point we talked about adding on to the house! :lmao:
I've had to decide what I really want/need and get rid of the rest. It's a good thing, and I am feeling better about it. Especially when I brought another load over to my friend's house and she was so excited to get all of my hand-me-downs! It's win-win...but I still wish DS10 could share with DS4 and I could keep my space!! :rolleyes1

We've had a busy weekend. We got an offer on our house. :cool1: Now, we just have to get through the inspection and all that, so that we can schedule the closing.

Our new home is coming along nicely and it should be completed in December. :woohoo:

Of course, some things have come up with DH's work and there is a possibility that we may have to move up north which complicates everything. So, I'm just trying to take everything dad by day.

Needless to say, I am not looking forward to all of the packing.

Let me start this story by saying that I am a Social Worker and therefore I overreact to everything.

I have a friend with a 16 year old son that has been giving her a hard time. Who knew teenagers did this? :confused3 She took it over the top and decided that normal discipline techniques did not work and would threaten to kill herself.:scared1: The teenager called me and I called her and she confirmed the story. I called the police. Note to everyone: I will call the police if needed. The police of course did nothing. Very long story short after 18 hours of stress and worrying about her she came to her senses and told me what was going on. There was lots of yelling about how she is never to do that again.

Then an hour later...my DS thought it would be fun to play on the monkey bars at my DD school as we were picking her up. 2 minutes before she was released he fell off the monkey bars and was stopped by his forehead. :sad1: Rushed him to the nurses off and they called 911. He had a little ride in an ambulance to the ER and has star treatment. He has 6 stitches in his forehead but should be healthy in a few days. I as a mother freaked out but kept it together for my son.

I would like a break from all the excitement. I should take an unscheduled trip to WDW.

:scared1:What was she thinking?!? :confused3 I would have called the police too. So I don't think you overreacted at all.

I hope your DS is better soon! What a stressful day. I hope today is a much calmer one for you.

Do it! Mickey will make all your stress go away!

We are having unseasonably beautiful weather here... like in the 80's!! :thumbsup2

And it's been a long week because last Sun. DH & DS10 were riding a 4-wheeler-thing and DS10 (driving) hit a tree, which fractured DH kneecap. He is not typically a tough guy and I found myself telling him to "Suck it up" more than once. :scared: (I AM sorry)

So, since he's been home bored all week and the weather is so awesome, last night I get the crazy idea to invite a few friends over for a cook-out.
We now have 26 people coming over and I just thought it up last night!! I ran to the grocery store for more hamburger supplies and DH is peeling apples for pies for the dessert.
The kids & I started raking the leaves into a "worlds most ginormous leaf pile" and I pulled all the outdoor toys back out of the shed.

So, have any of you done spur-of-the-moment parties and how did they turn out???????????:cool1:

SO, I feel like a little kid who just got scolded. So I came back her to the "mom's room" to sulk. :sad2:
I got an infraction! :confused3 I'm so innocent:eek:
!!
I posted on a thread this morning about bad words, and I typed something I thought was acceptable instead of the word... well...I know now that it doesn't cut it!!:sad2:
I should know not to get involved with grown-up conversation!!! What was I thinking???? Besides that, it was bugging me that a thread about kids using bad words was on the Budget board. Now it's off to Time Out!

Ohh, my over achieving - straight A - never gets in trouble - self needs to watch her busy fingers!! :rolleyes1

Any other DIsMom's ever get scolded by a Mod????

Hey Ladies!

So, did any of you apply for the Disney's Moms club? How did you guys do, anyone make it to the next round? I applied, but didn't make it. :sad1:

Oh well, at least I get to go visit Mickey in 45 days! I am so excited and can't wait. My parents are flying in from Portland, OR to meet us there. This will be their FIRST trip to Disney World and their first "vacation" with the grand kids! They've gone to the beach with us for a day or so when we lived in OR, but never on a real vacation! I have been planning and planning. I'm making shirts and trying to figure out how to convince my stepdad that he has to wear them. :rotfl: He's not the "matching shirt type." I've told my mom not to pack him shirts, so he has to wear them. :lmao:

Well, I hope you all have a great week and wonderful weekend!

Hi, I'm a "Disney" mom. I'm 40 and have a 33 year old hubby who I'm desperately in live with. We have 12 yo dd and 7 yo ds! My husband loves Disney, but hates hearing me talk about it 24/7! My daughter LOVES Disney and has been there 3 times already. My son is a Disney souvenir (i know: TMI) and he's been twice. Our next trip will be 10/11 at POR and we are so EXCITED. Never done the "Food & Wine".....

I haven't been scolded but one of my threads got deleted. No matter what I say it ticks someone off. :rolleyes1

I applied for Disney moms too and didn't make it. :sad2:

Well, I'm glad to see that my rejection puts me in good company. :lmao: Better luck next year to all of us!

Hi, I'd like to join!

My name is Jen. I'm married to a most wonderful man :lovestruc and have a beautiful baby boy with him. He's only 9 mos. old and currently trying to keyboard smash.

Me and DH have been to Disney (got engaged there in 2008). We want to plan a trip back but the baby's still young, yet. Can't wait to take my cutie cutestuff to the World for the first time. We were planning a trip for next year, but it's moved up since we are going on a cruise and to Scotland next year (husband is Scottish).

Hi everyone :woohoo:

Hi, Nice to meet you. Scottish cruise seems AWESOME!! Which cruise line do you use for this? Oh, and Your son will have a better time at Disney when he's about a year old (brought mine when he was 14 months, and he loved it!)

Welcome to both of you! :grouphug:

May I join?
I'm the crazy mother of 4 yo triplets and married to a not so lover of Disney husband. He, however, will do anything for his wife and kids therefor let us go this fall alone and we will go back next spring as a family. My DDs are Disney freaks. wonder where they got that from:rolleyes1

Thanks for the welcomes!

Actually we are going to Scotland in the beginning of the year and then to a cruise at the end of the year to the caribbean, or mexico (haven't decided yet). I wish there was a Scottish cruise though :)

Welcome!! I have 4 yo old twins. I always think triplets would be way harder since I only have 2 hands. A friend has 11 yo triplets and another friend has 2 yo twin girls and 2 month old twins. So yeah, I had it easy.

I have been thinking if I could do Disney alone with the kids. Last trip I took them to DHS for a day and it went great. But I don't know if I could do a whole trip! I think I especially need help for the airplane!!

Anyway, welcome!!

Hi Moms! We returned Monday from our trip to Disney! And let me just say what an awesome time we had. The weather was mid-80s, blue skies and sunny the whole time. This was a trip my husband won at work, so we got to stay at the GF. What a treat that was. Our room faced MK so we saw fireworks from our room every night and watched the castle turn colors all night long! It was such a special trip. The boys got to dance with Mickey in one of the parades and a CM at one of the stores got a Toy Story book that they bought autographed by the Toy Story gang. That was SO incredible, I couldn't believe it! The MNSSHP was really fun and we got tons of candy! The lines weren't that bad all week. Couldn't have been a better trip. Well, maybe it could have it'd have been another 7 days or so! Ah, but never look a gift horse in the mouth, right! I've only been twice, but I think I left a little piece of my heart with Mickey! Oh how I love that place!
