Let me start this story by saying that I am a Social Worker and therefore I overreact to everything.
I have a friend with a 16 year old son that has been giving her a hard time. Who knew teenagers did this?

She took it over the top and decided that normal discipline techniques did not work and would threaten to kill herself.

The teenager called me and I called her and she confirmed the story. I called the police. Note to everyone: I will call the police if needed. The police of course did nothing. Very long story short after 18 hours of stress and worrying about her she came to her senses and told me what was going on. There was lots of yelling about how she is never to do that again.
What was she thinking?!?
I would have called the police too. So I don't think you overreacted at all.
Then an hour later...my DS thought it would be fun to play on the monkey bars at my DD school as we were picking her up. 2 minutes before she was released he fell off the monkey bars and was stopped by his forehead.

Rushed him to the nurses off and they called 911. He had a little ride in an ambulance to the ER and has star treatment. He has 6 stitches in his forehead but should be healthy in a few days. I as a mother freaked out but kept it together for my son.
I hope your DS is better soon! What a stressful day. I hope today is a much calmer one for you.
I would like a break from all the excitement. I should take an unscheduled trip to WDW.
