DIS Meet Dec 8 07

I think Robby and I are going on another Disney Cruise!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! I was talking him into doing the 4 days get 3 free at WDW in January, but since we are going to Alaska with his family in May, he won't have enough time to take another vacation until August. So we are thinking of doing the December 12-19 western. Anyone else on here thinking of doing that one?? I think you should!!! We need to have another dis meet!!!

That's great! There are lots of deals out there for December. You might also want to consider trying Royal Caribbean, they have some awesome rates (as low as $499pp per person!) and are a great line! We LOVED our cruises on Navigator of the Seas and Independence of the Seas last summer. I was tempted by a 10 night on Navigator of the Seas over Christmas AND New Years that started at $999 per person. And the single price was only $1400! But I don't want to take that amount of leave, so I'm looking at a Carnival cruise over New Years for $700 for a single! Jas will be with her Dad for the holidays, so I figured this'd be a great chance to get away for some "me" time!!

We are acually doing one of the Royal Caribbean Alaska cruises in May. We are excited to see a different ship. What I would REALLY like to do is to take one of Royal Caribbean's cruises around the Mediterranean. They aren't that bad at all, and there is one that goes to Rome, Greece, and Egypt that I would LOVE to do!!!

Hopefully there'll still be some places when we're ready to book! I would love to take the whole family on that cruise, but we want to wait until after the babies are born to make sure that everything's just fine. I think that would be a great First Christmas present for them. Might as well start them out early, right?

The babies are coming along nicely. They're each a bit over 3 pounds now, and developing well. DDIL is having a tough time, but that will be over as soon as they're born! She's miserable--she can't drive, she can't go anywhere without her wheelchair, she can't sleep, all that good stuff. I figure after all of this is over and the babies are old enough, we'll all deserve a cruise! It might even be a first birthday present for them if they come early, if not, it will surely be a first Christmas!

Hey guys! Wow...look at you guys just talking about cruisin!! We are actually booked (dummy dates) the week before that one in 2009! We have to move them in 2010, but didn't find anything we wanted that we could afford!! I keep on checking to see if they dropped the rates for this coming Dec...but they did for Florida Residents..not as much for us other folks!

Right now we are supposed to go in August on a Western with the kids. We are trying to figure out something to do this Xmas. The kids are off from the 23 - Jan 4!! DH wants to get us outta the house...too bad that is an expensive time of the year!!

Beth...sorry DDIL is having such a hard pregnancy. I was on bedrest for my first one for the first trimester...it's hard not being able to get around. But of course it is worth it in the end. My end turns 25 tomorrow . I am feeling old these days!! Hey...he has actually been looking at rings!! He figures he will pop the question on their 7th anniversary, which is in April!! Now I really feel old!!

The idea of cruising next December was just too good to pass up. By then poor Jim will be DESPERATE for a vacation! He still doesn't have enough time off to go anywhere. He's going to try to get to WDW in May with me when I go to the Teddy Bear and Doll Weekend. I'm planning to take my Granddaughter as her birthday present, but I really want to surprise her. That will be SO hard!

DDIL is doing a bit better now. The doctor was able to find something which is helping with her pain from the pelvis, and she's able to get up and around a bit each day, which is good since she needs to exercise a bit. The doctor told them this week that, if things go according to plan, they will get two "last minute tax deductions" for 2008. Maybe that means for our anniversary, which is Dec. 30! She really wants to wait until after Christmas if she can possibly make it.

We're off to Martinsburg, WV tomorrow for Sunday meetings. On Thursdsay (early!) we'll head off to Dallas. I don't know how far we'll get with JoJo riding along. Hotels that allow pets are getting more available but it is still not easy.

We are booked on a Wonder "family" cruise on November 29, 2009. Bill and I are taking the kids, my Mom and nephew on the cruise. I don't know if we can swing the money for everyone to take the December 12th Magic cruise. We're footing the bill for my Mom and nephew too. For my Mom, it's a cruise she never got to take with my step-Dad. For my nephew, the cruise and WDW trip are his High School Graduation present from us. I can try and talk someone into it. We'll see. Keep you posted!

Sorry we'll miss you in Dallas. We head out for Orlando on Saturday afternoon. Normally, we head out in the morning. But, the kids have their football/cheerleading awards ceremony on Saturday too. They worked so hard all season long. We didn't want them to miss it. So, now we have to drive all night in order to make our Sunday check-in at Port Orleans. Have a great visit with your son and bring some warm clothing. It is getting colder and colder here. I finally got to use the fireplace last night.

Glad to see everyone's still cruising!

Jasmine's Dad moved here last week, so I've had the last couple weekends free. But I'll have her over Thanksgiving, and we're going to make another trip down to Disneyland Paris. That was a great time to go last year.

Since Jas will be with her Dad over the Christmas holidays, I booked a super cheap Carnival cruise over New Years to the Caribbean! Only $731 total for a single room for 6 nights!

I also made the Squadron Command candidate list, so I'm waiting to see if I get my own squadron next summer. I know that a couple Wing Commanders are considering me in their candidates for a Communications Squadron Commander. But I was also contacted by a Colonel who's hiring Recruiting Squadron Commanders. It sounds challenging and fun, so I put my name in the hat for that also. Hopefully I'll hear something by early January.

In the meantime, I STILL need to finish unpacking from all of our trips last summer.

I'm so bummed..... there's only been 15 posts on our DIS Meet page for our Western Cruise between May and Now. And 2 or 3 of those are OURS!!!! If only other people would book..... maybe others that I know would make it fun..... and not so lonely.......
