DIS Meet Dec 8 07

Well get on a waitlist for the Suite...and umm...see if you can convice him to do both!! :lmao: I have faith in you!!

:rotfl2:

Oh, I'd have NO problems doing BOTH cruises.. but, DH has the final say since it is "his" money that pays for all these cruises.. :rolleyes1

One good thing.. the WB TA our son was NOT included, but for the Christmas one, I included him. He has 2 years to decide if he wants to still spend Christmas with Mom & Dad & Disney cause he will be 20 by then eekk!! :scared1:

Coming from NJ, and our unpredictable winters, It's going to be odd to spend Christmas "at sea" in the Southern Caribbean :confused3 although having the whole day at sea would be wonderful..

Does anyone know if Santa Claus is ON the ship? or just Mrs Claus? :santa:

Hey Everyone!! We are back from WDW and we had a GREAT time, and I bought WAY too much!!!!! MNSSHP was a blast, but I think we've made up our minds that we won't be going in October anymore. It was sooooo HOT, and it was a lot more crowded than in December. French Quarter was an awesome resort to stay at. We will definately stay there again.
Robby was able to get some phenomenal pictures. As soon as we get them processed and pick out the really good ones, we will post them so you guys can see them. I'm sure you guys wouldn't want to look through 1900 pictures. :lmao:

Wendy-I'm so glad your sinus surgery went well. I hope that it isn't painful for you.

Beth-I'm glad you are feeling better!!!

Merryl-Good luck with the job interview!!! I hope that you get it!!!

Stacy-I'm still trying to talk Robby into going on that cruise!!! I don't know if I can go that long without Disney!!

I agree about October. We went in October of 2006, and Jim said he wouldn't want to go again at that time because it was so hot. Of course, he still had his foot in a cast, so that may have made a difference!

I really wish I could go this December. It's the first time in a while that we won't see the Christmas decorations, but with the babies on the way and DDIL having a tough pregnancy, I need to stay at home. Oh well, I get to go to Atlantic City for a week next month. It isn't Disney, and it isn't a vacation, but at least it's something different!

Beth

I also agree that October is too hot! We did a MNSSHP last year and it was too hot to enjoy, even in the evening. I love December, January, and February.

I'm really sad that we won't be able to see the Christmas decorations either. It was really cool to see all the halloween decorations, but the only park that was really decorated for halloween was MK, and for Christmas all the parks are decorated. I just like Christmas though.

Ok...I really need everyone's opinion on here. Robby and I are torn about moving to FL. Before vacation we had decided to stay in Arkansas since our family is here, we are making good money now, and we could go on vacation at least twice a year and be able to see more things, but now that we went down there we are wondering what we should do. We both really LOVE the Disney company and everything that we do, and we want to be a part of that. What would you guys do if you were in our situation??? We need HELP!!!!

That is a tough one. We often wish we would have joined Disney when they opened (when we were young). But because I do not have any brothers or sisters, we had to stay in Chicago to take care of my parents. They are gone now, and now we don't want to leave our children behind. So I guess, if you want to make a move, it should be while you are still young.

 IMHO only!

If we did not have only 9 years left until we retire after more than 26 years so far we would go and work for WDW. Our plan is when we retire to move to Florida and then work for WDW. At that point I can work for fun and benefits.

Also, if I knew 30 years ago what I know now I would have left to go work for WDW then.

Life is too short not to have fun while having to work for a living if you can. :laundy:

I agree with Brack.

You don't know what the future will bring. Don't put off until tomorrow what you can do today if it's at all possible. You can always go back to Arkansas if you don't like Florida, but you may not always be in a position to make the move!

Good luck with your decision!

Beth

I agree with Beth and Brack. We may have to move..and Florida is in the top five for us. I would look into what sort of jobs you would able to obtain there, and the salaries they would bring in. Look into the cost of apartments...and the cost of purchasing a house if that is the direction you would be interested in.

Then with those facts, you can decide if you would be better off in Florida, or staying where you are.

Moving isn't an easy decision. I have to say...if it wasn't for our kids, I wouldn't be hesitating about relocating.

And thanks for the good wishes about the job. I haven't heard anything .... and well at this point I will take that as a no. So...keep good thoughts, because I still need to find a job!! Thanks again guys!

I have to agree with the others. If moving to FL is something the two of you really want to do.

I was born and raised in the same town and other than a few months here and there trying to move away, I'd always lived within 10 miles of the house I grew up in. I'm really close to my family and thought there was no way I'd ever want to leave. Especially after my nephews came along... I couldn't bear the idea of missing them growing up.

But life takes you where it will and it took us 3000 miles from home. And it really hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. :) Between my family visiting me and me going home every so often, I still feel close to them. Heck, Mom and Dad travel so much, I probably wouldn't see them even if I was still living there. :rotfl:

So, from the point of view of "because our families are here," just turn the plans around. You thought you'd visit FL a couple times a year....visit Arkansas a couple times a year instead. And I'm guessing you'll have plenty of offers to have "guests" if you're living and working at the World. ;)

OMG..It is SNOWING!!! I have never seen snow this early in this part of NJ!!!

My DS and DIL are shopping at the Freehold Mall. They just called to tell me the same thing!

It's not snowing here, but I'm only two blocks from the beach.

Beth

We had snow & sleet here north of Chicago yesterday and it is early for snow here too. It was slick driving and poor visibility. Much too early. I am not ready for winter weather.

OK, it IS snowing here! Just a bit (I understand it's actually sticking out in Freehold), but it's snow nonetheless!

Beth

My DW is visiting her Mom in NC (near Durham) and yesterday they had sleet.

It seems like Oklahoma winds here in Baltimore today and it's cold. :upsidedow
