DIS Meet Dec 8 07

party: I'm at the beginning stages of planning Bill's Big 40th Birthday Bash (June 25th, 2009). He is a BIG Dallas Cowboys fan. So, I bought him a paver for the outside of the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, TX. Kind of like "Leave a Legacy". I am in negotiations with Bill Bates Cowboy Ranch (a former Dallas Cowboys own it) to have the party on the ranch. This is going to be a BIG shindig. :ssst: He's going to be sooooooooooo surprised. He thinks we're going to WDW or LV. When the new promo "What will you celebrate?" came out, I thought of taking him there and even hinted at it. But, he didn't seem too jazzed. Probably, because we go all the time. Maybe, I can sweet talk him into taking me for my birthday. ;)

:wave2: Hi Wendy!

Glad to hear you're doing well. party: Congratulations on the Squadron Command candidate list. Good Luck!!!!! I am sure you will be the one having to make a choice on what position to take come January.

Please give Jasmine our best. Every time Emily saw her on the DVC cruise, she cried, "There's Jasmine!" She was so excited to see someone she knew. We did bump into y'all quite a bit during the cruise. I hope we can cruise together again. :goodvibes

 Jennifer

Thanks Jennifer! Yes, 2011 sounds good for a reunion on the new ship!! I sure hope everyone's feeling better soon. :grouphug: I don't know what's worse, being sick or being the one cleaning up after everyone else! :laundy:

The beach was GREAT!!!! But my retinas were burned for a while when a couple in their 60's walked by butt-naked.

I went to the French side of the island on my first trip to St Martin. That nude beach is something else. I can still see those all those fat, sweaty, naked folks sitting on the bar stools at the beach. Yuk!!

So when is everyone else cruising???

:boat: In a few weeks we're going to Morocco and the Canary Islands on NCL. And in January we're doing a Panama Canal cruise on Princess. We're also doing Egypt in March, right now we're on RCI, but are probably "jumping ship" to NCL to save money. I'm also taking a solo cruise on Carnival over New Year's Eve! :cool1: It'll be fun to travel without child for a change. I already signed up for the Pub Crawl in Key West - something I'd never do when Jas is with me.

After that we won't be cruising again until Dec 2009 for the Oasis Inaugural. Jasmine said she was a little nervous about sailing on an inaugural voyage - given what happened to the Titanic and all. I told her I'd change it if she felt more comfortable, but said I'd just thought she'd want to be on the ship for the big party. "Party?", she said. So now she's down with the idea of the inaugural cruise!

Anyone given any more thought to Adventures by Disney? We'll probably do either China or South Africa in 2010.

Hopefully, next December, with you! We're really starting to plan. I can't book until after the first of the year, but it's looking pretty good. Jim is ready for another cruise, and by then he'll have enough vacation time saved up again! Of course, if he doesn't, I'll cruise without him this time.

I'm trying to convince my DS and DDIL that a family cruise would be nice. We'll be there so that they can get a bit of time alone while we watch the babies. My DGD thinks it's a GREAT idea. She's really missing WDW, and it's really hard not to tell her that she's going in May. I thought about telling her at Christmas, but she'll drive me crazy until then, so I'm not telling her until her birthday, which is about a week before we'll be leaving.

Did anyone do the Magens Bay Beach Break last year? We are thinking of doing it in January.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We didn't do the Disney excursion but went on our own when we did our first Eastern. It was really simple and cost so much less than Disney. We just caught a van cab at the port and the driver asked us what time we'd like to leave and met us right back there when we were ready to go. I guess they figure if they can get a return trip out of it, they might as well!

If I'm remembering correctly, there was a charge to get into the beach. Just a dollar or two per person. Some guy sharing the van/taxi only had $100 bill on him  The rest of us ended up paying the few bucks for him and his kid to get in cause the attendant couldn't make change.

The beach was beautiful, crystal clear water, but not much in the way of sea life for snorkling, etc. I've heard there's an area around there that you can swim out to for some snorkling, but we didn't do that.

Was a nice, calm, beautiful beach day. :)

Hanging out in Dallas today. :happytv: We could have gone to the game but decided to stay in and watch it instead.

I hope everyone has a great day! :grouphug:

Wishing everyone a slightly belated Happy Thanksgiving! I had computer trouble yesterday, but everything is fine again. I hope you all enjoyed!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

DLRP was cold but still fun. We didn't encounter any lines at all on Thursday or Friday, but Saturday was packed! Luckily we'd planned to do the rides the first 2 days and catch the shows on the weekend.

The Sequoia Lodge was nice, but I really hope they build a DVC there. :cool1:

Sigh..a year ago I was packing and getting ready to meet all you guys! Anyone else getting nostalgic??

We just did the "A year ago..." last night, because a year ago we were already at WDW, and hearing reports that it had snowed here at home. I also had my annual cold then, with no voice. As I recall, none of you EVER heard me speak. I couldn't talk until some time in February! Once again, I have the cold, although I'm still able to talk. But the big news is--Jim FINALLY has vacation time! He has one whole day! So next year, we'll probably be able to make that cruise!
