Dis husband swap

SleepyatDVC, I hadn't considered the "running in packs" theory. Dang! Well, I think I can be mean enough to scare that right out of them. I can be quite the commando when it comes to household chores! I won't tell my husband about the thought that the guys might want to watch sports or golf while they're here. He might actually pine to come home if he knows that kinda fun might be happening. Hhmmm, my swapped husband slips away to play with the boys...that could really mess things up!

The chance of me serving while they watch the game...slim.;)

Wow! You ladies are clean. As a male I always feel like I am in the minority here. I always feel like I'm chatting with all the wives on this board (I try to get my wife on here, but she lets me do all the planning then she just reaps the rewards of all my reading/posting (of course she loves every minute of the vacation so it is worth it)), and this thread is only proving my point. Because, if these were male majority boards before the end of page one this would have taken a "nasty" turn.

nicknamy1996, no need for a nasty turn, it's all in fun. The fact that there is no nasty turn just goes to proof you Dis guys have a great sense of humor.

Now back to business. You sound like a valuable Disney companion. Is there anything your wife needs done. I think we could find some takers for you in the swap!!!!

fabulous, Please list your qualifications. No need to be modest, we want to be sure we have good fits. (Your a great sport:D ) Does your wardrobe cover formal or just casual?

I'm replying to this thread, but just to let you know I'd never swap my hubby..I prob wouldn't get him back!! Of course he's a lot older (we both are), than most of the posters, so I have that going in my favor...you young 'uns prob would want someone younger.

My hubby loves Disney, and is willing (and wanting) to go whenever I suggest another trip (we go about 4 times a year). He encourages me to buy any souvenir I want..and if I put the item down, he's apt to get it without my knowledge. He insists I work hard at home the rest of the year, so we always eat out at Disney. He retired early when GE had a good buy out offer (he was 53) a few years ago, and that gives us more time to travel (we actually do ocasionally go someplace other than Disney).

When it comes to home chores, if he doesn't get them done, we hire someone. He packs and ships all my eBay items, and helps with my small home business, whenever possible.
He loves taking the grandkids to Disney and attending all their concerts, etc.

His sense of humor is pretty well known on the boards..check out this old thread. For those who don't know..he's the person "caught" on film. He pool hopped just so I could get those pics!

FatCow, WOW you are in the swap. Great qualifications! Some of us might like to do Disney abroad and I think you would be the pick! (I actually have a girlfriend that might take you on a permanent basis!!)

DmRick, Your husband sounds awesome. We have some great guys here. If he has a few weeks free I'm sure we'd have takers. No need to hire out those household chores, I think we can get someone in there to take care of them for you.
My husband isn't a spring chicken either. He's nearing the 40 mark. We've been married 15 years and I think 40 will be fantastic!

meh... keep me for as long as you'd like. Got nothing better to do here anyway :p

My hubby, the excellent Disny companion, is medium height, a little thick around the middle(let's just say he loves those Disney icecream bars:hyper: ) blonde hair beautiful blue eyes and very fun to be around. Be sure to eat a couple of energy bars each day to keep up with him because he won't stop. He could give the energizer bunny a run for his money. He is booked with his family for June 6-18. Then after that I need a week to recover! The chores I'm needing done are painting(inside & out), new kitchen floor laid, and a few touchup deck repairs. Anyone meet those qualifications?:rotfl:

I'll add mine to the swap as well. He's a handy guy, can fix a computer/network in a NY minute, loves thrill rides, and can make you laugh. If you like omelettes, he is the cook for you! He is also wonderful with kids.. he has the talent of being able to transport sleeping child from carseat out of car to the house, in the house, in the crib, and jacket off, WITHOUT WAKING THE BABY!

I could never do that!

OK ladies, does this mean that you all are up for "wife swapping"?

If so, I need one that won't claim to be allergic to all known household cleaners. She'd need to be able to wash dress shirts without having lord knows what bleed all over them, and ironing them after would be a must. Oh yeah, one with a good strong back, you know, that isn't too weak for vaccuuming, dusting or mopping...let's see, any other chores I'm tired of doing? Oh yeah, maybe willing to wash the cars once in a while and of course don't forget the lawn mowing.

With those things out of the way, I'd have more free time to be able to go to Disney more myself.

I think I have a willing DH for the swap, 6/16-6/30. Doesn't understand why DD and I want to go to WDW multiple times a year, not happy in crowds. Well educated (PhD in biophysics), well mannered (you can take him anywhere!), well spoken. LIKES to clean the bathroom, take out the trash, do laundry and vacuum (OK, maybe I exposed a character flaw here...!) Also really loves to do yard work, mowing, Mr. Fix-it type stuff around the house. Not much talent around the stove (although he makes a mean lasagne), but happy to do dishes. Hoping to find a Disney-content swap who will take DD on Space, Splash, Big Thunder and tea cups, preferably with an AP (after all, I'm willing to feed and house him...airfare may be debatable, will SW give refunds?)

I'll put my DH in for the swap. He vacuums, does laundry, takes care of the dogs, AND has dinner on the table when I get home from work!!!!!

After seeing how many qualified applicants are out there I'll be changing my plans. My best friend (who doesn't have a DH)and her children will be traveling with us. We had planned on sharing my DH, but I think I'll just reserve her one of her own. The weeks are Aug. 7-21.

OKay shoppie and leebee your on the list! Shoppie, I'm having a difficult time training our new puppy. Maybe your DH can help with that!

I'm sure he'd love to help. The only problem is he gives our dog's anything they want. If you don't mind that - he's all yours!

Perhaps I should offer myself in the swap. shoppie and leebee, I do all of those chores at my house and could use a break. Seems like either of your DH's could fill in for me nicely. BTW, shoppie, I have to give my dog insulin shots twice a day, is your DH up to that?

I come with my own AP, live a driveable distance from WDW so I could meet you there (no airfare needed), I love WDW as much or more than my wife, and observe good bathroom etiquette (I close the seat and the lid).

Only thing is I don't do well on the "thrill" rides so couldn't do Space Mountain, Mission Space, Aerosmiths R-n-Roller Coaster, etc. I can, however, handle Goofy's Barnstormer! LOL

My DH has six sisters, so he never leaves the seat up.
Insisted that we buy into DVC-- loves Disney even more than I do. Lets me hang out on these boards while he putters around the house. Said yes to an extra trip this year-- Aug 21-27. Will do all laundry and clean up. Grew up in an apartment so he LOVES doing yard work. Writes excellent poetry and love letters (English teacher). Makes me coffee every morning-- and I leave the house at 6.
Come to think of it, I just might hang onto him-- but I could really use a finish carpenter for a few weeks if anyone has one to spare!

Minnie's Mate, If you don't mind holding shopping bags and cheering as your "swap" family plummets down splash mountain I think your in. Your location is excellent. We wouldn't need a "sitter" for you between familys. I'd keep the insulin thing as an arrival surprise for your swap.

Looks like a Disney summer for you!!!::MickeyMo

:rotfl: ROTL!!!!!! You guys are too funny!

My DH unfortunately would not qualify for an exchange. He's a little on the spoiled side. But this thread gave me the giggles that I needed today. ::yes:: :p
