Just booked the hotel. Now who mentioned sampling cocktails, perhaps we should skip Primark this time and go out earlier

Nice one Claire, any plans that avoid Primark will get a big thumbs up from me (though I don't remember any pubs near to this Primark)

I do believe it was Clever Claire who suggested (insisted/demanded actually) cocktail sampling at TGIs.. Don't tell Nat but I'm crossing my fingers there isn't a PeeMark - it scared me...

Oh, this came as a bit of a surprise. I thought we had agreed that we would do Manchester this year. I have been researching possibilities ever since.

I will have to check the roster to see what my movements are that weekend. My leave is pretty much maxed out with two long cruises, but if I have the weekend off, I will have a lieu day that I will have to use by the end of August that I could use on the Friday. I can fly down standby on Flybe and I can get airline staff rates at the Novotel. Of course, I have to keep this secret from DH's family as otherwise there is not a hope in hell that I will stay at a hotel. They live near Southampton.

I think there were some southern softies (including me, I'm afraid, as I had an awful journey getting back from B'ham ) who wanted to try something closer to home, Corinna...

Plus there's an opportunity to try the 70's disco, Flares - I don't think there's one in Manchester...
