DIS-Functional Wonder Peeps 7/20 & 7/24, 2008 PART II

Hope Rick's hand is OK!! I know that hurts! DH spilled one of those microwaveable soups on his left hand and it made his wedding ring so hot it burned a ring around his finger! It was all pink & it peeled - NASTY...couldn't wear the ring for several weeks!

OK, so got a couple other signs made today Maybe by the time I'm all done I'll be able to zip right thru 'em?! Yeah, right! I DID figure out a couple of things today...I am SO-O glad I bought this book tho!

Just watched Extreme Makeover Home Edition. I don't normally watch it so much but it featured a family from back home tonight so I watched. I missed the first 5 min. but I don't think they went into all of the details of what was involved to build this house. There were 7 people living in a 600 SF house on top of this hill & there really wasn't even a ROAD to get to it. So they literally had to build a road to get the building supplies up there! (I know that 'cuz it's back home & it was a big to-do to get that road built.) The guy who owned the construction company who built it went to my high school. He was a year older than me (when you have 800 students in grades 7 - 12 everybody knows everybody)! Anyway, if you watch that program that's sorta where I'm from - just a muddy old coal mining sort of town!

yep...left hand..his ring finger is all swollen..he took his ring off because he saw the fingers starting to swell and was afraid that he couldn't get it off

he is in alot of pain (ha! men! try pushing a basketball out of a small hole) and i know that pain very well...as soon as you remove the ice..it hurts so bad
I put some burn cream on it that had a 'cain in it, but it stung too much and he washed it off

Okay, the bad thing is I don't remember posting that last night (OUCH) but I woke up feeling fine this morning (after a headache in the middle of the night woke me up.)
Kids spent the night at a friend's house last night, we we didn't get awakened early (well, not too early--they called at 11:00 a.m., but with losing an hour, that was early enough.)

We have a PTO meeting on Wednesday, and I have to update on what we earned on the VA Diner sales (not too bad I might add)
Most of our funding is done via the PTO at the school (our county is pretty tight when it comes to funding the schools unfortunately.)

So looks like a party at the Radisson on Saturday night. We will be coming in sometime on Friday, and will either stay at WDW that night, or we will stay somewhere on the drive down and be there Sat, or Sun. morning.

Watching it carefully I am.

It's sad to put too much into a single port. I know that Castaway Cay is the highlight of the cruise for so many people, but it should not be the entire focus of a trip.

Steve and I talked about this at great length tonight and both feel the same way. We are pretty much go with the flow kind of people. If we have to miss a port or substitute another port during a cruise oh well. It's not a huge deal and won't ruin my cruise. I certainly would be disappointed to not be able to dock at Castaway Cay, but I would not let it ruin my cruise.

I have found in life that there are many different types of people (it's what makes the world go around) and those that are minute by minute planners of their time (sorry to those of you here who may be) are the ones that tend to get their panties in a wad when a port changes (for any reason.) (or when a ride is under refurbishment during their trip to WDW, or WDW changes park hours, etc.)

Life is too short to sweat the little things. Go out and have some fun instead. Hey--you get lemons thrown at you, make some lemonade.

I would love to join you all, but I have a date with Jiko at 7:00 Pm on Saturday. I just about have my WDW plans put together, Ill post once I have it all confirmed. I think I had said it before but we will be at Epcot all day Friday (minus lunch) so if anyone is in that area then, I'd love to get together for a margarita or something.

Still trying to decide on a water park for Saturday. Any opinions on 1 over the other? Weve never done a water park.

I used to like the Fiesta Margaritas (kiwi, strawberry, mango, and lime), but I just read on the boards yesterday the kiwi is now sour apple...YUCK! So, I think I will see if they can leave that one out.
