Same here - we Tivo everything and watch it later. Sometimes weeks later!
I don't use the satellite much though because Tivo doesn't support hi-def with satellite. I LOVE my hi-def Tivo! But I can only use it with cable. So now I have 195 cable channels, and 200 satellite channels. Just what I need.


I don't know that I've ever futzed though. Done my fair share of fanagling however.

Hummm. A few months ago we got switched (had to they said) from a regular Directv tivo to an HD one and got a new HD dish or something too. We only have 1 or 2 HD TVs tho (I think 2 of the other 3 that are on satellite are just regular old TV's - I don't know what's up with the one by the pooltable ). But anyway, we've had problems with the directv stuff ever since they put this new dish up there. Prior to that we WERE getting local channels in HD via an antenna. I don't know. It's weird. I just don't want DH to fall off the roof (esp. since we're only on an HMO now! ) He did all the cabling & wiring for the basement for the surround sound etc. and has been testing his stuff...he thinks the problem is in the stuff that comes in from the roof to where it terminates at the house. We also have cable but I don't know if we still have VCR's that work?!

Well, I heard from DCL concierge today - we're booked for parasailing on CC day 1 - July 21st. Not until 11:00 AM though. But I should still have plenty of time to get to Cookies before they close! Gotta have me some ribs baby!


I hope Chris saves me a beer or two at Heads Up!

Question about your parasailing time slot...were you able to request a time or did they just TELL YOU what time you got?! Also, can we take our beverages off the ship with us onto CC? I'm sure DH would just as soon take his Miller Lite with him if he can....and I am sure he would share with you if Chris doesn't save you anything! NOW, tell me about these ribs! Are they babyback? DH LOVES ribs! OOOOOOOO ....our anniv. is on the 25th...maybe we will splurge & get some for him! We have a "Famous Dave's" closeby but he actually prefers the ones from this "Long Horn" restaurant... I'd better start another envelope!

Best and cheapest way to get local networks in HD is via a rooftop antenna.
Second best way (on the west coast, anyway) is via cable.

A distant third place is DirecTV satellite. Reason? Their DVR's suck! Poor software, poor menu system, and major bugs.

But that's just my opinion.

Hmmm, good question. Never tried that. I kinda doubt it though. You might sneak a beer or two, or a small bottle of the Captain, but beyond that I'm sure they frown on it.

I didn't actually get to talk to her (she left me a voice mail), but I'm pretty sure we can change it to 10:00 if I push the issue... given that the peeps that are parasailing occupy not one, but BOTH cat. 1 suites.

yeah, yeah, yeah... in my little mind "now" = 4/21 I just meant that there's no penalty if we book the stuff when the date opens (now) but then we decide to cancel later. If we should decide to drop something we just have to cancel like 3 days out or something, right?! I need Sue Ellen to confirm our dinner arrangements (time) so I can decide for sure which nite to do Palo...........I am still torn on what to skip!

OK, so it's like 8:55 - just got home from swimming - looked like every light in the house is on...DH is still on the roof! I go out back and he's got cables & flashlights & ladders...I'm like "you know it's dark now, right"? (as I hear some tool of some sort slide down the roof & land in the gutter)! It's OK he says..."it's tethered". OMG. At least I didn't come home to find him lying unconscious on the patio. I'm sure the "why" behind all this will be a good bedtime story.

I have had Katy all week and she and I are working on our tans for the cruise. She is easy to entertain because all she wants to do is hang out in the pool with all the other Grandmas and Grandpas. This grandmother sits under the umbrella with my bottle of water. I would be in the pool with her if I didn't have a face full of stitches. They come out Monday, thank goodness.

I practically have to drag her out of the pool. Today we went to the mall and had pizza and came back home so she could get back in the pool. I could live all my life without the pool and the "old" people that hang out there and gossip. They never get their hair wet and they all wear their gold on their arms, neck, ears and fingers. Don't they know the water in the pool will ruin it with all the chemicals?

RJ/Beano/Cheri - Can Neil and Ryan be a part of the parasailing adventure? Ryan will go if Cassie is going. Neil...well he will go no matter what. But can they go at the same time as you or with the other peeps is the time slot full?? I cannot make ressies for 10 more days. Can we join them up through your concierge connection or do I have to wait until the 21st and call and beg someone??

Also anyone know which dinner time/rotation we will have?? I need to jump on those babysitting slots on the 21st!!

Mornin ya'll...so we got like 1/2 of our satellite channels. Got MOST of Survivor & AI - it cut out for awhile in the middle of them but we caught the beginning & ends. DH gave up & came in around 9:30. He said he switched some connections around so we could get the channels we watch most. He will try to finish up this afternoon / evening. He's supposed to go out with the boys tonight and it's supposed to rain tomorrow so he's under pressure to get it done. He is trying to save the stooopid $80 fee that Directv charges for a service call...

Ditto! If you can get others on there, we would love to join you. If not, that is totally understandable.
