Thanx Kelly!!!
It will be nice seeing a lot of family today.

It will be nice seeing a lot of family today. How was the service?

So sorry to hear of the double losses you have had so recently. I am sure both your stepmother and your Dad were very proud of you you are such a wonderful giving lady. You and your family are always in my prayers!
Now don't forget, I should have been going on this Diva trip with you so I am counting on your TR so I can live it through you again.
Who knows maybe next year?
The kids are getting so big! Colton still thinks your little lady is cute hopefully someday they will get to meet. Maybe I need to look and see if they are having the pirate weekend again this year and work up a little weekend trip to Oregon.
Thanx Sherri!!
It was a very small group, mostly family....which actually made it nice & very personal for us. My brother, who's a minister, did the service....so that made it extra special...having someone that actually knew our dad to talk about him. I was able to stay composed to sing a song....one my dad loved "Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered". It was a nice way to say goodbye & remember how he was before the alzheimer's started taking his memory away.
Thanks so much for asking Kaitlin!!![]()
So glad the service went well! And I am sure your dad was smiling on you as you sang!
Thanx Bridget!!

You are a strong woman to have stood up there and sang for him! How special, that is amazing!! I love that song, I know exactly what that is, when you mentioned Linda Ronstadt, I used to have her remake albums!! I also love big band type music, got my love of older music from my parents, God rest their souls...my dad had Alzheimers too, btw. I donated some of my PFD last year to the organization, and this year I'm donating to the American Heart Association in honor of my mom. Thanks for sharing your touching experience! Bless your dad in his new journey...

thanx Kelly!!
My dad shared a love for all kinds of music, but big band & dixieland were huge for the both of us. He never got to hear me do that song before, but I knew it would have been right up his alley. It was also easier to sing a song that I hadn't done for him....no "ties", if that makes sense. Alzheimer's is so hard to watch......they just recently figured out that the person with alzheimer's doesn't lose their memories....the data is still all there....they just lose the ability to access it. I truly believe that, my visit with my dad 3 days before he passed....he didn't know who I was, but he did ask me if I knew who Laurie was......so sub-consciencously, I think he did know me.....at least, that's how I want to remember it.Hi Laurie!! the Diva trip is getting so close now!! I wish I was going but with having closed on our house last week and my hubby having moved on the 1st I really am glad I had the time so I can go to CO to spend some time with him!
I will be reading all about the trip when you get back though!
Gonna go find your WDW PTR now!!
Cute picture Laurie! I hope my kids will still love Disneyland when they are Tyler's age!!

I love the picture of Max and Tyler. What did the kids for valentines day?
