So, the meet and greet party is over, the clean up is done, and everyone is heading back to their rooms because we have an early and full day planned for tomorrow. The five of us make our way to our room on the fifth floor of building 1. We get in and even though we had all talked about our plans to get organized and get to bed right away, that didn't happen. What actually happened is how we got our name Calcutta.
A lot of the ladies thought we were a little off for trying to fit as many people as we possibly could into our room. We saw it as being fiscally wise and also, the more the merrier. Plus, we liked the whole cheer camp feel of having lots of girls in one room. Not to mention it really made James happy to think about us having LPF's every night.
Instead of going to bed that first night we all spent time chillin and talking. While doing this we all sort of started working on little projects and such. Actually, it was arts and crafts central. Amy Okra Sue was working on the tshirt iron ons for quite a few. She even brought her own iron with her. A few of the rest of us were working on bracelets and necklaces that we had gotten in our bags from our roomies.
With that many bodies in the room and us all moving about it got a little stuffy and hot in there. There was a lot of potential for it to be really miserable. Thankfully, we cranked the air. But without that, it would have been hot and humid in there.
With all that, we knew we were Calcutta. Overcrowded, hot and humid, doing arts and crafts on trinkets.....yep, we were our own little thrid world country up there on the fifth floor. The name suited us well.
I know there might be some out there who think we were being clicquish (is that a word) and exclusive. Totally not the case. We totally would have tried to stick more people in our room and would have been more than happy to put them to work in the sweat shop with the rest.
Next up.....shut up already and go to bed!!
