So where was I? Oh yes, I was at the beginning. That would have been close to about a year ago. Yes, I really am going back that far! Geez! So the dates were picked and planning was taking place. I was sure I didn't want to do the meet and greet this time around. Its a lot of work, and you don't really get to enjoy it as much. But with some coaxing, I was in. Then the planning really started.
It took months of PM's, emails and messages with the committee to come up with our plan of action. Plans didn't go as easy as that though. We met lots of resistence when rolling out our theme and plans. But, we decided as a committee that what we were planning was going to come out great, and we would just push forward. Before I get ahead of myself, I think it turned out very good.
So many things to do to get ready for the trip. Had to get time off cleared. That was easy. But then I changed jobs, and then it wasn't as easy. So instead of having the entire time off, I went down to one day only. One of the few drawbacks of getting that new job. Luckily, it all turned out fine.
Many hours were spent on line and researching to get the trip planned. Without everyone pitching in and helping out, I doubt it would have happened. Lucky for us there are enough ladies in the group to step up and take part. Thanks to those who made the ressies for table service, made arrangements for tours, designed shirts and lanyards, scoped out deals, checked out the schedules, planned activities and everything else. Without everyone pitching in, the trip just wouldn't happen.
Months out the trip doesn't seem real. But then as it got closer, it flew by. And a week went by like it was only a day. It was part stress, part excitement. The trip was almost here.
Next up...countdown to the trip.
