DIS Digi-Scrappers Challenge #11 (6/25 - 7/1)

Whew! I just barely made it! My mom had back surgery last Thursday. My sister had a seizure while at the hospital and injured her head. To top it off, my dog had an unexpected litter of puppies last Thursday night while I was waiting for mom to get out of surgery.

I started this layout over the weekend and had to finish it. I wanted to mix expected and unexpected elements together in this layout to convey the message.

I "made" the Mickey Ears using a leaf from Britt's Sprite kit and a Mickey head as a clipping mask.

Thanks Britt! I felt "Britt-ish" doing this layout. I've learned so much about layering from looking at your layouts. It's really fun stacking and sliding elements around. I 've been trying to alter the shadows on things to make them look like different thicknesses. Thanks for all you've taught me/us! As my kids would say ... U Rock!

Everyone did such fun, amazing layouts! This was an awesome challenge. It was fun to see so many animal encounters in one place. Sorry I haven't commented on everyone's layouts. I've looked at all of them but haven't had a chance to post but you all did a great job!

Guilty - I tried to get mine done but I was behind on housework, laundry, blah, blah, blah...

- I still can't figure out how my life is so much busier now that I don't work. My house is messier too!!!

I did take the time to look at all the layouts - I love the cute animals and characters too! Great Job Everyone and can cool challenge, Fran.

Thank you so much! I found this week that when I don't "think" too much about a layout, it turns out better.
