I feel I should also be a better role model for my girls, they are both perfect weight and I know they eat healthily, but it's a sad fact that weight is linked to health and I want to be healthy and well if I'm ever blessed with grandchildren!

I agree totally. I want to be fit and healthy as I approach fifty. OMG I can't believe I wrote that!!! :scared1: Hopefully, grandchildren aren't too far off (kids, are you listening???!!!:rotfl2: ) and I definitely intend to be an active and involved grandmama...

...When I met Karen for coffee just before christmas I thought to myself that it was the first time in years (since being pregnant with the girls, and who cares, then!) that I was going to meet somebody for a one-to-one that hadn't seen me first and was used to my appearance. It got me wondering what Karen would make of me on first impression.
I've realised that sadly, many people (not at all including Karen in this category) treat you differently and judge you in a certain way if your are overweight.

Awww, Joanne! Those first impressions were fab, milady! TBH I was just anxious that you might be more dressed up/groomed than me (in a 'ladies that lunch' sorta way) as I can only 'do' casual - I was mighty relieved to see you in jeans!!! :worship:

Well done everyone! Good luck for this week! :cool1:

I weighed myself yesterday and I've lost 2 pounds. I'm sort of pleased with it, though I did weigh myself mid-week and I had lost 3! I can honestly say I haven't been going hungry so I will definately continue to follow Paul Mckenna's diet.

Well done to everyone who has lost.

I am going to weigh in one day this week & take it from there. I want need to go food shopping first so I can stock up on fruit & veg.
The very best of luck, Claire!

Foolishly I jumped on the scales this morning, and I've put on a ridiculously 9lbs of drink induced weight :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Current weight ~ 10st 9lbs
Goal (asap) ~ 9st 12lbs
Goal for August holiday 9st 7lbs

My proper weigh in will be on a Friday morning, so I hope I've lost a couple of pounds by the end of the week :wizard:

You can do it, Mandy! :thumbsup2 Bet it was an enjoyable way to gain a few pounds tho'... ;) :drinking:

And good luck to all those who weigh-in later this week... :goodvibes

Well done to everybody that has lost:cool1:

I've lost 3lb which I'm more than pleased about:banana:  as I feel I've had a week where I haven't gone without anything. Once I settle I only want to lose about 1lb a week so that it's a steady long term weight loss - that would be a fantastic 26lbs by the middle of June! and I'm pleased that I'm already three down!!

Good luck for the week ahead everybody and with your weigh-ins:)

Well done everyone on your weight losses this week!

I thought id been doing really well - piorridge with skimmed milk for breakfast, couple of cups of tea with no sugar throughout the day, soup and wholemeal roll for lunch, Grilled fish or chicken and veggies and small portion of brown rice for dinner. Ive also been doing 15 mins walking a day plus a load of toning exercises (sit ups etc).

I was actually lookin forward to getting on the scales this morning thinking id have lost a couple of lbs?! :confused3

Nope nothing! not even 1lb!

Oh well Still have 14lbs to go - my deadline is in 16 weeks so id better hope i lose something next week.

Don't worry, this happens to me all the time and then other days I eat really badly and then I lose lbs! I remember reading somewhere once that you should only ever weigh yourself every two weeks, every month is better, but in 2 weeks there is a better distribution of weight loss.

Apologies to the men but I also find that once a month my weight goes awry because I get really hungry at that 'time' but know it will come off again a week later!

It will come off just don't give up.

First week and I lost 2lb. Did 3 hours and 10 mins on Wii Fit (20 mins short), but I bought Dancing Stage Hottest Party yesterday and did 531 cals loss which took over two hours. So way more exercise than I imagined.

I'm very pleased considering I have has three major slip ups this week and a few minor slip ups (eating four and five low cal bars at once...lol). Plus, after being mostly housebound/bedbound for the last few months and the associated muscle wastage, 2lb loss is great considering I must have built up some of my muscles too (which weigh more).

Only downside is I didn't get to weigh myslelf until 7pm tonight (hours after usual weigh-in) as I was so exhausted after doing the dance mat I just slept for 18 hours. I forgot the price of doing this weight loss- the negative impact that exercise has on people without a circadian sleep cycle. Mum is being really understanding though and was encouraging me on the Wii Fit as she went to her bed- I must have looked really stupid doing Wii rhythm boxing at 3am on Sunday morning.

This week I hope to have fewer slip ups; no major and hopefully no more than a couple of minor. I'm also going to not put a limit on exercise this week- just do as much as I can and enjoy it trying for more aerobic on the DDR and more toning on the Wii Fit. This may prove difficult to jump about in the middle of the night if sleeping doesn't improve, so may have to resort back to most time on Wii Fit. Hoping for maybe a 3lb loss this week.

Great news Maddie - are you still doing WW? I would be interested to know what kind of things you eat as I'm quite fussy and I know you don't necessarily eat lots of veg and stuff - how do you balance out your points?

Thanks Joh. Yeh im still doing WW and you're right about me being really fussy :rotfl2: I don't like any vegetables but i try to stick to fruit as snacks. I usually have Ready Brek with sweetener for breakfast as its only 3 points and fills me up for quite a few hours. Then i usually either take a sandwich (regular not ww bread as its too thin) with Dairylea light for lunch with a pot of grapes or sometimes Ill wrap up one jaffa cake (which i think are 1/2 point) for my daily dose of chocolate :lmao: As my lectures can be anytime between 9am and 7pm I take a tracker bar (around 2 and 1/2 points) with me each day to eat just before a lecture to save me the embarrassment of my stomach rumbling :rolleyes1 . Then for evening meals I have a plain chicken breast with rice, fish fingers and a few chips, beans, spaghetti or scrambled egg on ww toast (often with cocktail sausages or sausage rolls to make it more interesting), low fat spag bol reheated that DM makes me to keep in the freezer, or the small fresh pizzas from waitrose which I really like and are only 6 points. I tend to just rotate these meals a lot! As you can tell, Im not the best cook either. :rotfl:

In terms of puddings, jaffa cakes and mini milks i think are only 1/2 point each so are great when i fancy something sweet. Sometimes Ill have a low fat muller yoghurt which I think are 1.5 points. Then as im home at all times of day depending on my timetable I have a slice of toast (ww bread) with marmite as its only 1/2 point and satisfies my hunger for an hour or two.

This is pretty much it. I tend to eat the sames things over and over again!

Hope this gives you some ideas.

If you or anyone else have any good suggestions of low fat snacks/ plain meals I would be very interested ;) . I get bored quickly with some of my meals!

Maybe youre not eating enough, that doesn't sound like much to eat and if you eat too little your body can cling onto the fat as it thinks you are starving yourself.

I have lost 2lbs this week!! thats now a total of 10 1/2lbs in about 6wks :woohoo:
