AP sistas have you seen this?
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2164541

I don't have a current AP, we let them run out. I wasn't thinking about getting one, but it would save $ and the person who currently holds the AP gets a $25 gift card for each referral...
Got me thinking seriously about it.:scratchin:idea:

Happy Sunday!:sunny:

:) Good evening sistas!!

What great news about Kelly and continued prayers for Cait and Miss Anne

Alice - My ds did the practice test on line and scored English 520 and Math 530. He said he thought the SAT math was hard and he couldnt answer the questions at the end, hmm. He heard another girl say, well that prep course did me no good etc. His friends are still in the course and will take the next sat. Ds will start lifeguarding so I guess the next sat he will do will be in the fall. He heard another girl telling her friends how she cheated. I hope she realizes they dont have the same test book, hmm. He forgot his id and dh raced back home but he just made it at the end of the admission line etc.

Well my dh hasnt called so I hope he is o.k. He is suppose to go to a reception tonight etc. I did the dressing change myself. I think I used a little too much tape, but heah it workd for me and that is what counts. I am sure I will ge3t better at it as the week progresses.

It is going to be raining here for the next 6 days, gheesh!!

send some rain here (just not on the days I am at Disney, if I may ask that)... we are so dry.

Update on Cait and Miss Anne... Cait said she will probably be heading home on Wednesday or Thursday. That her mom may not make it through the week. I posted this on FB and part on myspace.... so will here too:
Please continue prayers for my friend Cait and her mom, Miss Anne. Cait needs prayers for strength... and courage... (I love you Cait! I wish I could be there in person to help with this weight you bear). Miss Anne needs prayers for peace... to know that it's okay. That Cait's husband and friends will be there for her.

Thanks so much ladies.

;) Good afternoon sistas!

Well I am getting better at the dressing changes, still using a little too much tape, but my time is getting a little less I think. I had to have ds19 put the binder on me today. I went to the grocery store. I only buy 1/2 the stuff. That takes about an hour. I am just too tired to do it all at once and tomm. I will go again to a different store. I feel pathetic. I even came home and took a nap for 1/2 hr.and told ds1 to put the frozen stuff away etc.

Well my dh said they stopped them at the border. One of his colleagues has a dual citizenship and I guess they didnt like that and questioned her. They were um, told to wait, I guess that is a better word than detained for about an hourt and they searched the whole rent a van from top to bottom. Sounds like he is having fun!!

My new neighbors have finally moved in I think and are staying on a daily basis now. They just came about 1 day a week to fix up the place before.

Hope everyone is well, Prayers for those in need. GTAGWTA

:wave:LMP...sounds like you are doing great just by getting out to the grocery store at all! :thumbsup2 I don't think you sound pathetic.....I can relate. When I was doing chemo, I often had to find what I called the "old man benches" in super WalMart. There are actually several of them scattered throughout the store, and most of the time there would be old guys sitting on them while the wives shopped - but they never minded sharing! :)

I've been keeping really busy at my mom's house since she came home with the broken hip. She is doing quite well, and can now even drive. Still has to use the walker, but can put weight on it now, so I will only need to stop by every few days or so and do whatever it is she isn't quite able to yet. :laundy:

My grandma passed away yesterday, age 94. :sad1: But she was at peace and in no pain, and you just can't really do any better than that. She was such a cool lady, and has always been my hero. Survived colon cancer twice, first time 20 years ago, the last time about five years ago when they had to remove her colon completely. She lives about 200 miles from me, and we'll be heading down Friday for the funeral. I have lots and lots of good memories.

I start puppy classes tomorrow. I'm really looking forward to seeing how my puppy reacts to the other puppies. He's 14 weeks now and growning like a weed!

How's everybody doing? Sending out hugs to everyone who needs one! :grouphug:

I have a current AP but have not received the mickey monitor they are talking about. If I get one, I will let you know.

am sorry about your Grandma... but she sounded very brave. I can see why she was your hero. prayers for your family.

Am taking mom in to get her other battery changed (for her left hand). Long day with an early start :rotfl:

:dog:~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~:dog:

Maryann- You've got a lot of chutzpah sista! I don't think you sound pathetic at all, although I have to admit I can think of times I've felt that way myself, but in hindsight I can see how much I really pushed just to do what I would normally do, live life, and that's not a bad thing...

Laurie- Thanks, I am still thinking it over. I know when I had an AP in the past the Mickey Monitor came kind of randomly. I just checked the thread and it doesn't sound like anyone has gotten it yet. :confused3I will be in FL at the beach in July, but I'll be coming from CO and we are leaving at the end of June. So let me know if you get it before then. When do you leave for your trip?

Cheryl- My condolences to you and your family. Your grandma sounds like she was a wonderful lady. I'm sure she would be so happy that you have such loving memories of what a strong impact she left on your life. You were lucky to have her. Praying you continue her legacy...

I finally watched Marley & Me over the weekend. I knew I would cry (I'm a crier) but jeez, it was one of those I can't breathe afterward cries! :sad1: I loved the movie though and got the book from the library. I haven't had a chance to read it, the whole family is grabbing it. Funny thing though, when I asked my kids if the movie made them want a dog, my oldest dd said no, it showed her if you get a dog and have babies your life is over!:lmao: I told her that's because you're 15 and not ready to be a mother yet so don't have sex! ::yes::Who knew Marley & Me would be a great abstinence movie.:confused3

Good afternoon sistas!!

Cheryl - So sorry to hear about your grandma, I am so glad you have such wonderful memories of her. Deepest sympathy and prayers to you and your family.

Well the nice nurse from my pcp called. She said my Vitamin D was low,. Um he ordered the test like a month a go and it always is "sitting on his desk.". Been there and done that with him before so smart me had quest send my wonderful endo a copy and she wrote me a letter LAST week and sent me a vit. d prescription. I told the nurse this. She also said my B12 was low and I should come in for a shot. I was like 300 and the normal is 250 to 1100. Hmm, why wonder I am tired. So I will be joining our dear sister Maureen with this situation soon., but at least I can get the shot in my arm and not in the butt like she has to.

2 of the ds are giving blood today. I am glad they like to do it etc.

Hope you alll have a great day, GTAGWTA.

Cheryl, sorry about grandma. Can we have another puppy picture?

LMP, you sound tough to me!

Gotta keep this short, so it'll post. GAGWTA!

Hi ladies....

another prayer request. A college friend of my mom's who is a breast cancer survivor, hasn't been feeling well. She has to have a colonoscopy next, but scans showed lungs, pancreas, liver etc was clear. She had a hysterectomy awhile back but they left the ovaries. She is thinking that she may have cancer again. She is a great lady and helped my mom a lot with the attitude of having a mastectomy saying "I dont need it to see with, hear with or eat with..." and never wore her prothesis because it was so hot and heavy... its a door stop in her closet. So along with Cait and Miss Anne... please add Miss Lee.

thanks

GAGWTA!! :cheer2:

Thanks everybody, about my Grandma. :goodvibes

Laura, I haven't seen Marley & Me. Don't think I will.....I hate sad endings! Too funny about making it into an abstinence moment! :thumbsup2

Sha, prayers, good thoughts and well wishes for Catie, Miss Ann & Miss Lee.

LMP, hope that shot helps!
Maureen, are they helping you? Haven't seen you here in awhile, how are you?

Haven't seen Linda lately either....how's it going?

Merry, I'm always ready to post a picture of Charlie! LOL, kinda like a mom with baby pictures I guess. anyway, here he is, 14 weeks old, just after going to the groomer....

I am still here! :hyper: Have been pretty strung out since this time last week, just with work, baseball, photography, committments, etc. Finally had a day to myself yesterday and wound up having to take both DD and DM up to the doctor's, nothing serious but both came home with scripts. Today after I have my coffee I have GOT to go clean kids' rooms - they are growing so fast that between clothing sizes and seasonal items, it seems like there are clothes everywhere!

Had to read back to fully catch up, though have been trying to daily. Just know that even if I don't respond, I keep everyone in my prayers who needs prayers. I think it goes without saying that all of you are always in my heart and with me in spirit. BTW, Laurie, this is great, I believe it, too:

Praying helps the person praying as much as the subject of the prayer request

In a book I read recently on a near death experience, the woman who died explained that when she was in heaven, she was shown the "clouds" opening up and many, many beams of light coming up into heaven. Those were prayers. I loved that visual.

Cheryl, I'm so sorry about your grandmother. She sounds very special. I am in WalMart once a week so I'm going to be chuckling to myself every time I see an old man bench, LOL. Your pup is beautiful - I have a Pets thread on the Photog board, would love to see you post his pic there, too. We love, love, love seeing everyone's pets!

LMP, you are a warrior. :) We had training on Swine Flu this week, also. They've even asked the public that any visitors with flu like symptoms stay out of the hospital. Kind of scary that most of the people being diagnosed right now are children, but at least there aren't too many really serious cases.

:goodvibes: to all who had good news and anniversaries!

I know we like quotes around here. I read this one this morning and liked it a lot:

"True desire in the heart for anything good is God's sure promise sent beforehand to indicate that it's yours already. ..." Denzel Washington.

(Re-watched Philadelphia last night, what a great movie. BTW, loved, loved Marley and Me and didn't find it sad at the end, really, simply because he'd had such a great life - the kind of life I wish every dog could have. OTOH, I read a horrifying story about a dog last week that's been haunting me ever since; it's things like that that I find truly sad. Laura, your DD is funny! :thumbsup2 )

I am still trying to recover from the weekend, a day at jazz fest and two days going to our soccer state cup finals. The jazz fest was great, we stayed almost until the day's end, but it was draining due to the heat. Loved being in the jazz tent with the misters going full blast and absolutely the best jazz I have been fortunate to listen to in a while (the big ole mango tea DH bought me to help me cool down did not hurt either).

It was so hot I could not stomach a beer until 4 ish when we could be outside in the nice breeze in the shade.

DD13's team was awesome Saturday, keeping the eventual winners on the ropes throughout the game, through two overtime periods but lost in the penalty kick shoot out.

We were all whipped, and the girls just could not go much on the final game Sunday but still played well.

Less than two weeks now until our WDW trip. Yea!!

Swine flu has struck here, the Catholic grammer school just down the road is closed. One of my co workers has a daughter in DD13's school and she was extremely sick yesterday, should get swabbed today.

She is an 8th grader and their exams are this week, graduation next week. I feel so bad for her.

I am waiting to hear when our school will close.

I read that the CDC does not recommend the schools closing. What the heck?

Cheryl, love the cute puppy picture. Glad your mom is on the mend after her surgery. I am sorry about your grandmother.

Sha, I still have Cait and Miss Anne in my thoughts and prayers.

Great visual, Linda about the beams of light representing prayers.

Speaking of beams, anyone going to see the Star Trek remake?

Laura your Marley and me story was priceless. Goes to show the value of watching movies WITH our kiddos.

I have a co worker who told me yesterday her family wants to go to Disney late June. I think they would like to stay in one room. They are a family of 5, kids are oh say 15, 13, and 11.

Any ideas where they would be comfortable? I was thinking the All star music suites, or an offsite condo.

I was thinking of hooking them up with my Bonnet Creek source, or trying to rent from a DVC owner.

Any other ideas?

By the way, my co worker is 39 and a 5 year BC survivor as well, and also has very limited sight. She handles her job wonderfully using the devices we have in our demonstration center.

I really want to try and give her ideas. I thought I would give her the mousesavers website.

Thanks,
Laurie

There may not be a lot of options for your friend, Laurie. With the 4/3 deal and other specials, things have been busy. I tried to help a friend last week look at some stuff for that time, too. The Swan/Dolphin have some specials going on - I believe they have some suites. Besides mousesavers, give her allearsnet, too.

I understand what you mean. DS started divisional games Sunday and they did very well, finally, as they got off to kind of a slow start this year. ;) Won their first game on slaughter rule. Second game went into several extra innings and could have gone either way, but other team scored winning run at the end, we were so close! (DS was about two feet shy of hitting what would have been a game winning GS :headache: boy that would have been sweet.)

Hi, Girls!!!:)

I'm hoping someone can help here. I already posted this on the resort board for discounts and codes.

A friend is leaving for WDW Sunday. She is purchasing APs. If I can get her one of those Mickey Monitor referral cards before she leaves she can save $$$$. (And you will get a $25 gift card for each AP she purchases!)

If you can help, please pm me ASAP!!!!:)

TC:cool1:

Hi Laurie - I tried to pm you but I think your pm box is full. I have some info for your co-worker about a private home to rent for a very reasonable amount of money. It is 15 minutes from WDW. I will resend it when you let me know it will go through.

To All of You: I'm sorry I haven't posted lately. I've been busy with our new grand daughter and enjoying every minute of it. I also had my 5th year check-up and so far so good!

I have not forgotten any of you and I send hugs to all of you who are in treatment, recovering and fighting the good fight. Happy Mother's Day to all of you - "Life affords no greater responsibility, no greater privilege, than the raising of the next generation."

Mellissa- :wave2:Post when you can. I know it's a busy time for everyone with kids wrapping up school...especially for your senior!:cheer2:

Linda- Hey sista, good to see you! Ditto what I said to Melissa!

I meant to comment on this too...there is so much that can be said about prayer, but this always feels like a personal renewing...God is good!

Love, love, love this one!

Laurie-I hope your co worker's dd is ok and can make it to graduation.
Has your other co worker who is planning the Disney trip been there before? I think with 3 kids that age they def. need a 2nd bathroom so I would look at condo/villas rather than hotel rooms. If she wants to stay onsite the suites and All Star Music would probably be the cheapest. Bonnet Creek would be very convenient. I got a good deal last Sept. through Skyauction at Cypress Pointe Grand Villas. I think it comes up quite often on the UK travel sites I sent you, about $60-80/nt. It's in Lake Buena Vista, just up the road from Downtown Disney, easy drive to the parks. Very clean, nice and roomy. I recall they had a huge tv, hubby enjoyed watching football on.

I had a really good visit with my GI doc yesterday. I am still in a minor flare. We are trying something else along with my other meds. I was concerned that especially while I am away this summer about being sick. He agrees that now is not the time for surgery and if something comes up we will just keep putting bandaids on it so to speak.
