Sha, thanks for posting. Someone at work mentioned it but I missed it.

I especially liked the guys in suits.

Great morning thing to see.

Merry, my sister and I are working on mom using a hearing aid. One day recently I lost her in Walmart. I told her where I was going but of course she did not hear. It was the trip DH asked me to buy 7 garden hoses (those things are heavy). She went off to the far end of the grocery section. It took me awhile to find her. Of course she leaves her cell phone safely turned off in her glove compartment. Next time I am going to make sure she has the thing with her and ON!

I think if it were me needing a hearing aid, I would go for it. I don't want to miss anything.

Cheryl, glad your mom is home amd I am glad to hear you are getting a break for a couple of days.

Laura, I am glad you enjoyed your date. We won't divulge your secret about sharing the wine. You two needed a special night out.

I can relate to the mother thing. I'm having "issues", too. Mine said something that upset me yesterday, but she doesn't know I heard it (actually, DD heard it and told me :guilty: ). We invite her to come out with us a lot (she lives with us), but she very rarely wants to come anywhere. But if we don't invite her, she feels hurt. She's not dependent on us persay, but she doesn't have a lot of friends she socializes with, either, by choice. People invite her, but she doesn't go. It gets frustrating sometimes. Anyway, Merry, I'm sorry about your party and especially your cat. Glad you're back, missed you.

Ann, my husband and son fly fish, too! (Ocean, most of the time, which is unusual.) My DH has been making his own flies for years, though he hasn't had a lot of time to do it lately. It's kind of funny the things you can make flies out of - any kind of animal hair (which we have plenty of), surgical tubing, foam, you name it. Enjoy! I've never tried it myself (though I'll take lots of pictures while they're fishing ;) ) but I hear it's very relaxing.

Sha, that's awesome about Celebrations! I found a link for the magazine :thumbsup2 (never knew about it) but not the article. Would really love to see it sometime. Congratulations. Will keep your friend in my prayers.

Cheryl, glad your mother's on the mend. :goodvibes

LMP, every appointment is another adventure for you, isn't it? I would imagine the food part is really difficult. I'd be having major cravings if I knew I couldn't have something. How difficult. But you are doing an impressive job hanging in and keeping your sense of humopr. Kudos to you!

Laurie, have things settled down a bit at home? I hope you're pampering yourself somehow.

Laura, you sound well. You're also doing a great job hanging in, sista. :goodvibes Glad you had a nice nite out with hubby.

Beady Lady, good to see you.

jsg, how are you doing?

Maureen, how are you?

TruBlu, how are things going with your mother?

The kids and I are on vacation this week. I'm spending a lot of time spinning my wheels, LOL. (Lots to do but not getting a lot done.) Oh well. Good news is that my son's team finally won some games this weekend, 3 out of 4! We were all exhausted! The sweetest part is that my son (whose bat was off to a slow start the first few games - he and all of the kids were nervous as this is the first time any of them have done an independent league whereas the teams they're playing have all been around for a while) got lots of hits and scored the winning run in extra innings. :woohoo: We are off to our first out of state tournament this weekend, it should be fun as we have a great group of people.

Stay well, everyone. And GAGWTA! :wizard:

:) Good morning sistas

Well I am feeling  Yest. I asked the nurse if I didnt have any side effects from shot 1, would I have them from shot 2, she said no, Wel she was WRONG!!

I feel nauseuous and sometimes have a bad stomach ache and I forced some of the dinner down last night. I can only imagine what I will feel like when they give me the pill later today. DH is calling them at 9 am as they didnt call us last night. I have some odds and ends to take care of. So I will see you in about a week, as I am afraid to be out here with the computer and the ds etc. Of course this week end its going to be beautiful and I will be stuck inside, sigh, sigh.

I am sure I will have some interesting radiation stuff to tell you later on)

GTAGWTA

Good luck, LMP, you are in my prayers. I hope you win the battle with the nausea.

Good luck with the rads.

Any chance your DH could update us about your progress?

Merry, I am sorry your plans were leaked by your mom. I can see she did not do it on purpose but did she have to put the blame on you?

I am sure the prospective parents will appreciate your efforts nonetheless. Having the kids involved is inspired.

At some point we become the parents of our parents.

I decided to go at the last moment to the monthly meeting of my BC survivor group. I am so glad i did. My sweet German friend was there and we are going to get together soon just the two of us to catch up. I also exchange contacts with another more recent survivor who is thinking of getting a team together for the Relay for life.

Another great friend.

We had such a marvelous meeting.

Mom did not go this time. I am not sure why she wasn't interested as she seemed to enjoy herself the last time immensely.

Something must be up with my brother in Costa Rica that she has yet to tell me.

More tournament soccer this weekend. It is fun but sure a lot of time in the car back and forth.

Just a few weeks of school left.

I am rescheduled to see my surgeon, the doc who has been following me since 2004, if he is not detained again. I was so appreciative that they called me last week so that I did not spend hours in the waiting room.

GAGWTA!!!

Thinking of you LMP. Hope you feel better soon.

Turns out some others were also wanting to do a shower, so I'm handing it over to them. I'll just jump in and help if it's on a day that I can. If not, I'll contribute to the costs and send my gift. I'm going to tell the couple that two groups of us were planning a shower for the same guests and we decided to go together. They'll understand. It actually takes the planning off of me since I have a graduation coming up. So all is well. Mom is forgiven and she's no longer mad at me either. I'm blessed that we have such a good relationship.

I have a sore muscle in my lower back. Must have pulled something. And I have a knot in my opposite shoulder. I'm sort of a basket case today. Don't feel like doing very much, at all. But at least I'm not sick.

:beach:~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~:beach:

Maryann- I'm sorry you aren't feeling well. I know some of these treatments can be cumulative. I hope they can give you something else to help the nausea.

Just popping in for a quick hello. I've been laying low... was getting worse, but I *think* today is better. Hot weather is coming!:beach: I really want to go out for a walk...
:grouphug:

Afternoon Ladies

LMP hope you are feeling better today.

MP glad you and your mom are good again... and that is nice that the about the shower. How is your back and shoulder today?

Laurabelle... hope you feel better too!

Laurie- how nice to meet up with an old friend... I so want to get things going for the RfL at WDW! Maybe I will have someone with me????

Linda, there is no link to the article. I fixed the link to the magazine. I hope to get a scan sometime to have to email a couple people I know won't get the magazine.

My laptop had crashed last week, and spent last night in Orlando with a friend fixing it. Couldnt save anything, and I have things to fix and upload... all my main (good photos) were on external drive. I am pretty sure the ones I had on the photo file were ones I will be okay missing (though I worry about the ones that were of George... I am sure I had back ups!). Maybe this will get my laptop synced with my printer/scanner again and I can get something else scanned that I promised awhile back.

Mom is to have her battery changed out (another but for the other hand) for the first time on May 5th. Just before we go to WDW for Mother's Day weekend. My sister is going so this should be good.

Ooohh, very interesting, Sha.

Maybe I'll be bringing someone with me?

Now I am dying of curiosity.

Merry, I am glad things are smoothed over with your mom. You handled it well, I gotta say.

I have been demoted to once a year visits with the surgeon. I can stop the Tamoxifen when my current bottle of pills is depleted. No further drugs as the doc thinks I got all the protection I need to avoid a second cancer in the other breast from 5 years on the Tamoxifen.

I am not sure if I will have to continue with the chest xrays and blood work. He just wants to see me around the time I get my mammogram next year.

My insurance is supposed to cover mammograms each year instead of just going towards the deductible/ It seems they don't the diagnostic ones aren't reated this way though. What is up with that?

Yay for yearly visits. Don't ask me about the insurance. I never think insurance makes sense. And you reminded me that I got the "call to set up your mammogram" letter this week. Gotta schedule that.

Hope anyone not feeling well, starts feeling better. Lots of stuff going around.

I wonder how LMP feels today?

My back is maybe a teensy bit better. DH just worked on my sore shoulder and my side hasn't been spasming as much. Maybe I'm on the road to recovery.

Boy am I glad tomorrow is Friday. Not sure why exactly. It's going to be a busy weekend. DD has her OU vocal audition on Saturday and on Sunday we're driving to Tulsa for our niece's confirmation. Just seems like it's been a long week.

Heah sistas, guess who???

Its too hard to type with rubber gloves on, so here is the short version, 150 is the normal rad dose, i got extra 25 for lymph node spread plus extra 25 for agressive columnar cell variant, so 200 total. StAYed in hosp. overnight, had nausea twice and they gave me compazine, ds took me for blood test today. I am still feeling nauseous so took more meds, oh the joys of iingestable radiation.:sick:

So glad you posted, LMP.

I am thinking you are home then.

Hang in there, sista, and we will continue praying.

Good to hear from you LMP. Keep checking in when you're able.

DD's vocal audition for college is tomorrow. Please think of her. She's a little nervous.

We've got a lot our our agenda this weekend. My list just keeps getting longer. I'd love to get my hair cut amid all the other chaos. We'll see.

Thinking of you all. And I'm loving the fact that I can actually respond to things again. It was terrible to read about all of you and have to sit here mute. :rotfl: Just ask my family....I don't do mute very well.

Oops, another tag worthy comment!!!

Glad the nausea has subsided a bit.

Sometimes I ponder about whether there might just be a book in the wings from all of our musings on this thread.

You could be a major contributor!!!

I hope it is nice and sunny where you are.

GAGWTA! it is so nice outside, I do believe I will go and sit in the shade! I hope the weather is fine where-ever you are!:hippie:
