The quotes are powerful... as are prayers... will be posting again later, but I have two for you that got me through nursing school (can you believe it was a year ago that I graduated???)

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

"if God brings you to it, He will bring you through it." (got this from S.C. on the boards)

Sha, love the scriptures, thank you.

All the talk about prayer reminds me to tell y'all I am going to be a Come Lord Jesus leader for the eighth graders next school year again. The day of my last meeting with my group of 6 beautiful girls and boys was the day I received the news of being diagnosed with BC (my DD18 was in 8th grade then and DD13 had just made her 1st Communion). Bittersweet memories to be sure.

Basically we meet every Wednesday for about an hour with our small group and discuss the Gospel of the upcoming Sunday. We are supplied with some wonderful materials and music that compliment the message.

What should make it easier is that there are so many parent volunteers that the overall leader is going to partner the returning leaders like me with a newbie.

Should make it easier and more fun.

DD13's school is about three blocks from my office, and Wednesday is NOT payroll processing day for the office staff so I should not have a conflict.

Laura, sorry you are dealing with the flare still. It sounds like your doc is one that will work with you. He sounds like a keeper.

Thanks for the idea. I will be talking to my co worker again today. I'll bring her all these new ideas.

My other coworker's daughter was negative for swine flu, and seems a little better.

I am waiting with baited breath to see if anyone in our little family comes down with anything before our trip. It has me a bit on edge but at least we are driving, and if we have to wait a day or two to leave we can be flexible.

Youre welcome Laurie.

When I posted that this morning, I knew I would be posting again. Thank you ladies for your prayers for Miss Anne. She passed away this morning just after 1am. Cait was leaving this morning to head home, and her mom was told that. When Cait went to bed last night, she did not take her cell phone into the room as she had been. She missed the call saying her mom was gone, which allowed her and her DH sleep they need for the 24 hr drive home to Boston. If you would now keep her and her family in prayers, and for a safe trip.... thanks

Laurie- What a powerful influence this group must be! I can see God's hand all over it!
I am claiming this for you right now...no one will be sick and you will have a magical, fun, restful holiday with your family!!!pixiedust:

The flare is not bad at all, I just see how it's getting a teensy bit worse. Yes, my GI doc is a keeper, lol. It took me twice as long to get to the hospital yesterday, and I had padded my time knowing this (huge water main break a week ago and the main road I take through the city is shut down). Anyway I made my appt. just barely on time. The nurse took me back and called him and he came right in. He said the patient scheduled before me was super late and he went down to his office to get some work done because he knew if he saw her first he would be late seeing me and he didn't want to keep one of his favorite patients waiting! :goodvibes

GAGWTA, Ladies!!

Just popping in to say I have been thinking of you all. :flower3:

Linda, go ask OBM what he bought. He is in trouble. Again.

:flower1::butterfly:daisy: Good evening ladies!!

Sha- Deepest sympathy to Cait and family and continued prayers for Mss Lee

Linda - Saw your pet thread on the CB

Laura - hope the flare stays under control

Laurie - Bet you are getting excited about your upcoming trip. I like food reviews the best, hmm, wonder why??

Elizabeth - of course I thought of you when I heard about the Cowboys thing on tv. Tornado season is in full swing I bet. Did your mom decide to buy the house?

Melissa- Hope things are going well.

Well I called about the B12 shot. I just have to show up and get it, they said I dont need an appt. but I guess I will have to pay the nice $20 co pay and I wont even be seeing the dr. gheesh!! My dh called. They didnt stop them too long at the border this time especially when they said where they worked, the dept. of *** (I never post that on the net) He will be back late tomm. night if the storms dont delay him. I heard from Alyssas mom. She is now out of ICU and in a private room, they need this to start the immuno suprresive drugs to get her ready for the transplant. Well my mothers day is ruined before it even started, and how you might ask?? Ds 2 says, oh I am working sunday from 5pm-2 am since I dont have college on Mon. I said, its mothers day!! etc et!! He said, oh, why wonder she wanted off (his co-worker). So after everything I have been through and not being able to eat the easter dinner I thought we would have a nice dinner etc. Oh well. Remind me not to get too upset, lol!! I am suppose to go to a baby shower but now I also have to drive ds3 to and from work so I dont know since I have been feeling so tired lately etc.

Well I wish you all the blessings of a wonderful mothers day, Enjoy your day doing what makes you happiest. GTAGWTA

Maryann - I am sorry your son is working on Mother's Day!
The Cowboys thing was bizarre. Those were some strong storms!
I talked with Mom today. Her recent mammo was all clear. She is buying the house. I am not happy about it, but I might as well shout at a brick for all the good it does to try to talk to her.

Wishing everyone a very happy Mother's Day!!!

Maybe I will get to sleep late on Sunday. Right now I am waiting for the Band bus to get back from Six Flags so I can go get DS. I am usually asleep at this time of night! :rotfl:

~~~***GAGWTA sistas***~~~

Elizabeth- I'm glad to hear your mom had a clear mamm.! I know you are concerned about her getting in over her head with the house. I hope it works out...it's a great time to buy. I know what you mean about waiting up to pick up kids...mine have more of a social life than I do anymore, lol!

Maryann- I know you are disappointed. I hope you all can have a nice brunch tomorrow instead. I am praying for Alyssa...

Thinking of those of you who have lost your mom...
:grouphug:

I too am sorry your mother's day plans were torpedoed, Maryann. Kids this age sre so very self-centered. Hope the shot gives you a boost.

Saying another prayer for Alyssa and her family.

Sha, please extend my sympathies to Miss Anne's family.

Elizabeth, yippee for a clear mammo for your mom!!

Thinking of Maureen, I am sure tomorrow will be a difficult one. How are you feeling, by the way.

Thanks everyone for all the ideas. I think my co worker was going to try and book something yesterday. Her husband is a bit difficult on this, he is a bit on the frugal side. My biggest concern is that they would commit on a house or a condo and then be out the money if he changes his mind. They already changed the dates.

I sent her a long email with all kinds of ideas to share with her husband. I have to fade in to the background now. I think I am coming off as a little too enthusiastic.

Two count em two college students moving back in out of the dorm/apartment today. DH left early after taking out the middle and back seats out of the van and is armed with a handtruck, lots of boxes and garbage bags and a cooler with water. He would not let me go, oh darn.

DD19 is bound and determined to keep her job near her college so she will only be home for 3 weeks, then back down to live with a combination of places.

I am not comfortable with it all but I do want to encourage her to continue working. She says she is much more focused when working and juggling classes, boyfriend, sorority etc. She needs to be challened to be an effective planner.

I am reserving judgement until I see the rest of her grades.

GAGWTA and happy mother's day. I am in the midst of making a bog pot of crawfish ettoufee for a dinner at my New Orleans friend's house tonight (yes we are going back down there tonight).

Tomorrow is dinner at our house with fillet mignon.

My sister and her husband are down in Sandestin celebrating her husband's retirement from Shell after more than 30 years employment. He is a little younger than me. No kids=early retirement.

I love the look of the beach down there (they send me pictures from her DH's iphone). Looks so relaxing. It is the calm before the storm when school ends down there.

GAGWTA all!

Forgot to mention, DH and I went to see the new Star Trek movie last night.

All I can say is that I was prepared to be disappointed but it was the most fun I have had at a movie in years.

I was a faithful viewer of the original series, and DH and I saw each of the moview.

It brought back many memories, especially of the original series.

So for those of a certain age, you will love the subtle references to the original. It also stands alone quite well. It sets itself up for many sequels ala Pirates of the Caribbean.

GAGWTA!! :goodvibes

Happy Mother's Day! :flower3:
LMP, sorry your plans didn't work out.
Nothing really out of the ordinary going on at our house, have to take married DD back to the airport (2 hours each way) so that will take most of the day. DD20 is working.

We just got back from my grandma's funeral. Seen lots of relatives I haven't seen in years. Why is it that that only seems to happen at weddings or funerals? Everything was very nice, and very simple, lots of talking, laughing, and sharing memories - it was really a very nice couple of days. We even took the puppy with us, he did great at the hotel! Of course, with all those people to give him attention, he was quite happy.

Linda, oh my gosh, the pictures on your pet thread are so good! :worship: LOL, I'm just usually happy if I manage to get a picture and everybody has their eyes open. You guys are totally out of my league!

Snappy, thanks for the Star Trek review! I'm thinking that's something that DH and I would like to see.

I'm doing well. One Mother's Day celebration down. We saw MIL tonight. My mom is tomorrow afternoon and my brother and family are coming by.

13 days of rain in the past 14. Enough!

Prayers and good thoughts for all of you. Happy Mother's Day.

Happy Mother's Day! Thinking of you all today and hoping whatever the circumstance that you know you are loved!:rose:

Cheryl- I'm glad Charlie got to go along. I bet he helped in so many ways.

Linda- Thanks for posting the pet picture thread. I'm reading Marley & Me now. Gosh he is so like the black lab we used to have. Our neighbors across the street own a Weimaraner and they are such good owners. Our neighbors next door own a yellow lab and never walk her. The wife bought her for the boys (very young at the time, right before we moved here) and she's just in the house or the small backyard...unless she escapes. It's so sad...:sad2:

Laurie- I know what you mean about not wanting to overwhelm people with Disney planning tips. It's hard not to get caught up in the magic! You've given them lots to choose from...I'm sure they really appreciate the effort.
I'm curious, what job your oldest dd has that she is doing that commute...
I have heard the same consensus among other parents about kids and time management.

Melissa- I know what you mean about the rain! We are finally drying out...I think.
:grouphug:

Happy Mother's Day to all my sistas and friends here. Love you guys. :flower3:

We have a double header out of state today. As Team Mom, have planned a fun day of grilling for the families and special gifts for the Moms (think photos ;) ). Weather is just about perfect. Looking forward to a nice day.

GAGWTA

Happy Mother's Day to all who it applies to. Prayers for those who are missing theirs today and know that they are smiling down on you today (and everyday)

:grouphug:Happy Mothers' Day! Hope you hear, feel or see your loved ones.

Happy Mother's Day everyone. Its such a bittersweet day for me, and I am kind of depressed. My kids and hubby and I went out to our favorite little boca diner for breakfast right near the beach. It was really nice and layed back. Tonight we are meeting my dad for dinner. It will be best to be together.

My dad is having surgery on Thursday now that he has great doctors (he got rid of his managed care plan and hired a VIP doctor and got a great medicare supplement so he can have the best). Manged medicare programs here in South Florida are THE WORST because there are so many old people and they really do try to hustle you out of the hospital too early, plus the great doctors don't take patients from those programs. The VIP doctor thing is a real big deal around here, you pay a fixed fee per year and the doctor only takes 300 patients into his practice, you get an appointment same day, a yearly detailed physical, call backs 24/7 year round within 30 minutes, etc. I wish I could do that. For my dad its so worth it because it means someone is managing his care well now that my mom is not here to do it. And you can't take your money with ya, so I'm glad hes putting it to good use!:worship:

Laurie, thanks for the thoughts! You are such a great person and I can't wait to see you again in October!

Linda, I finished the book you sent me and it has made an immense impact on me. It brought me great comfort about my mom. I miss her so much! Thanks from the bottom of my heart!

Happy Mom's Day to everyone, thanks for all your kind words and posts. I hope everyone has a healthy and glorious day.:grouphug:
