Within the next week or two we will be upgrading to a new version of our board software. If you would like to get a sneak preview of the new boards you can look at www.dreamsboards.com .

Enjoy!

Oh man, first our local grocery store is rearranging all the shelves and I can't find any things and now the boards are different!! Ugh, I don't like all this change!!!!!!!

I like the Mickey hands! Will the windows really be that small?

Will we have to re-register and lose our post count, again?

I had to look hard to find the Mickey Hands! Ok, thanks for the warning.

I noticed that there is a lot of blank blue space on the left side of the screen and I can't see the entire post unless I move the horiz bar over. Is this something that's only happening to me or is it something that can be fixed? Other than that it looks sharp!

Is the advertising panels going to carry through to where we read and post to individual threads?

thanks

The current software resizes things very intelligently on the screen as you resize the window. If you're looking at a list of titles of posts within a forum, widening the window widens just the "Thread/Thread Starter" column which reduces the amount of wrapped text in the title of the post and shows you more post listings at one time. Notice that the other columns don't resize -- this is exactly the right thing to do and is very user friendly! Conversely, if you make your window narrower, it just wraps more text for you so you will see fewer titles at one time.

The same thing happens when you are reading a particular post. As you widen the window, only the column holding the text of the post resizes so you always see the maximum amount of text and no large blank areas. Again it is very user-friendly and allows you to maximize the width of the text area of the post, reducing the number of wrapped lines of text and increasing the number of responses you see in the window without having to scroll the window. If you make the window narrow, it just wraps the lines as needed and eliminates the need for a horizontal scroll bar which is very user-friendly.

The new software doesn't do this. In fact, it doesn't seem to resize anything intelligently or otherwise. You can widen your window as much as you like -- the table of posts stays a fixed size so all you get is more blank areas to the left and right of the table. Same when you view a post -- can't resize the text area -- just get more blank space. So if your window is not wide enough you'll get a horizontal scroll bar and if you don't make your window wider, you will have to scroll the window left and right constantly to read a post. If, like me, you like to widen the window to get more post listings or more responses on the screen at one time, this will no longer work -- you'll just get lots of blank space to the left and right of the list of posts/text of the posts in your window. Not very user friendly! In fact, this will get downright frustrating!!

You will not lose posts, you will not have to re-register

Lisa the resizing issue is specific to the design of the Dreamsboards. The Disboards will behave the same as they do now in that regard!
