Hybrid, 320 direct, 100 Resale. I will probably buy direct again at some point in the future because I want enough points to give each of my daughters a direct contract and then have one for us as well, plus resale.

Very hybrid (!) Our first purchase was direct, but after our first trip, we decided we'd bought the wrong resort, so "buy where you want to stay" meant selling all our points and buying there, which meant resale since DVC wasn't selling where we wanted to stay. Then we bought direct at a new resort (this time, after we stayed there-a resort DVC was selling) and about 5-10 years later, resale at a long-standing resort. This was an off-site resort that DVC may have been selling, but our points there were resale.
All our purchases were pre-2010, so we're grandfathered in to discounts.
