Direct Purchase Extra Points?

Thanks for all the help with this. In the end I chose to go with a Sept UY for the direct RIV contract. My BCV resale has a March UY and passed ROFR. I know everybody recommends a single UY but I thought a lot about it and decided the 2 contracts being 6 months apart will work to my benefit in some regards. Mostly due to the fact that they will most often be used for 2 different trips per year. Also, the resale points are no good at the RIV and the RIV points won't be needed most years at BCV where we have enough points for a 1 Bedroom for a week. I'm sure there will be a trip or 2 I wish they were same UY but in the end this made the most sense for us! Thanks again!

I saw this rule on the DVC site and if it's true someone buying direct this month would need to make their use year at least as far away as August to do that right? Or is that not true and you could buy this month (March) with a UY of say June, then bank the 2021 points immediately? Looking to buy direct this month or next and had no idea this was a thing!

When purchased direct late in their UY, DVC will allow the buyer to bank those points after the banking deadline. It’s only for direct buyers and only for the newly-purchased points.

Just FYI. There is no May UY. The UYs are Feb, March, April, June, Aug, Sept, Oct, and Dec.
