Dinner on our first night

I'm wondering about dinner on our first night. I booked O'Hana's so we could watch Wishes from the Poly. But now I'm wondering if it would be better to see Wishes from the Contemporary? We could try Wave.

Any opinions on either the food or view from those restaurants?

You can't see anything from The Wave. It doesn't have windows. If you were planning to go to the 4th floor observation deck and watch the fireworks, you can do that. But the Wave is on the first floor, so you'd probably need to be done with dinner by the time the show starts, or plan to eat after the show. You'd probably need to plan to get to the deck before it fills up.

We haven't been to the Wave so can't comment on that. We love the food at O'hana but be warned - not all tables have window views so it's not always possible to watch from the restaurant. If you are planning on going down to the beach at Poly after dinner to watch Wishes (this is what we have done), just be careful to allow enough time for dinner. O'hana is the one place at WDW where we have always experiences long waits (about thirty minutes), even with ADRs every time we've gone.

Book a restaurant of your choice and when you're finished go the boat dock behind the Grand Floridian Resort. The view is outstanding.

Back in August we had dinner at Narcoosee's. The site was fantastic to see the fireworks and the electric water parade also passes right past the restaurant. Also they pipe in the music as well.
