We have two boys (3 and 6 they will eat in the clubs one night while we hopefully get to check out Palo's. My question is do they help the little ones (3-4) with getting their food? Is the food on low tables for them. I think I read it is a buffet. He is a quiet little guy and I don't think he would ask for help. My 6 yr. old would be fine...since they are in the same room if they don't help the little ones to get their plates could my older son help his brother? Or do the 5-7 yr. old eat at a different time and/or place? Thanks in advance!

They will help. It is buffet, but the kids club counselor will ask them "do you want this?" "do you want that?" and give them all of the choices. Dd (9) said they made her group always answer "yes, please" or "no, thank you" for each food offered. That's great.....not only do they provide great entertainment but also manners training! :)

They won't force your kids to eat a "healthy" meal though. My dd said all she ate for lunch was pickles and jello. :rolleyes:

The club takes their kids to Topsiders for their meals. They have kids food set up on one side of the buffet and all of the club counselors are there to help the kids with their meals. They do the meals at a set time for each individual age group so it is very controlled and well done. If you don't feel comfortable with them going with the club you could always get room service or pizza, etc and feed them while the kids from the club are eating with the club and take them back in time to get to Palo.

Make sure you tell the counselors you are going to Palo. They don't page you as easily so that you can have that little bit of time to yourselves.

Thanks for the great info. I feel a lot more informed and comfortable that someone will help my youngest.

Will the 5-7 age group eat at the same time as the 3-4?

That I don't know.....

Checking www.castawayclub.com, the Navigators from the 8/28 cruise show the following:

on Nassau day the 3-4's at from 5:30-6, but on CC day they ate from 6-6:30
on Nassau day the 5-7's at from 5:45-6:30, but on CC day they ate from 6:15-6:45

So there is some overlap, but looks like they get the 3-4's started first, then when they are seated and eating, the 5-7's come in.

Guess you'll have to just check Navigators when you get onboard, but really, I think the counselors will do fine helping your youngest. After all, they do that all the time. :) Relax and enjoy Palo.
::yes::

Every time I saw the kid's club counselors on the cruise this summer, the kids looked very happy, even during mealtimes. GO FOR IT!!

mine were in 3-4 and 5-7 and we peeked in one day at lunch at Topsiders - they were both in there but sitting with their own groups so I think the idea of one group going in, getting settled, and then the other comes is is what happens.

My DS wasn't trhilled with the food choices (he is *very* picky); he wanted the pb&js available at dinner, but they don't do peanut butter in the clubs due to allergy issues. DD was happy; they had noodles (pasta/red sauce) or mac-n-cheese and other stuff she liked

This year on Palo night we'll probably order room service so they can eat at the kid's clubs if they want, but they won't be starving if they dont!

My dd does complain that she can't get what she wants to drink. The girl drinks white milk for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. All they have for meals with the clubs is fruit punch. I asked when I registered her this last time if there was ANY way she could get milk and they said "NO"

Must be an allergy thing. Guess dd will have to eat with us once in awhile. :) She did tell me today that she asked for water instead and they gave her that. :)
