Our family has booked a trip to Disney during the last week of October 2010. I really wanted to have dinner at Le Cellier, but we were not able to get an ADR to work into our schedule. My question is whether there is any point in waiting and continuing to try to book a reservation (hoping for a cancellation) or is there no point?

NEVER give up hope! What I would do is make a reservation for some other place at that time but relentlessly call Disney Reservations just in case. The closer you get to your date, the more likely you might be to getting something. You might want to think about doing a lunch or going for a really early dinner. We ate at 4:55 but by the time we actually got seated and were eating, it was closer to 5:00. Good Luck.

Try walk up. Our trip April 2010, we walked up...were told a 20 minute wait for party of 3, and only ended up waiting 10 minutes. My 2 cents is that many people make ADR's that no-show.

I'd have to say that it sounds like you got insanely lucky. Most people can never score a walk up at Le Cellier.

To the OP - keep trying! What have you got to lose?

Keep trying. I know we were originally scheduled to go to WDW Sept 25th-Oct 3rd. I had two reservations for Le Cellier (lunch and dinner). We decided we'd rather be there for the entire Food & Wine Festival, so moved our trip to mid Oct. I canceled both Le Cellier ADRs (as well as 'Ohana, Chef Mickey's, and a Mama Melrose Fantasmic pkg, along with several other usually hard to get ADRs). We were on the DxDDP, so had alot of really good ADRs. Hopefully a fellow DISer got lucky and got them.

Don't give up! Keep checking on line whenever you can - as many times a day as you want. There's still plenty of time between now and the end of October. People change their plans all the time so you never know when something might show up.

It helps if you are flexible. Check for various dates and times during the days you'll be there. Maybe an earlier or later dinner time than you had originally hoped for, or perhaps lunch instead of dinner.

Some people have said walk ups have a better chance if they are at Le Cellier right at opening, but it looks like you'll be there during free dining so that will impact your chances. I'd rather do everything I can to try and snag an ADR.

I wanted Le Cellier for July 28th and couldn't get it when I booked our reservations at 180 days out. So I just kept checking that date and about a two weeks ago, I put in Le Cellier and I got a time of 7:30 p.m. So I booked the date and time...... Don't give up, it worked out for us:)

It's definitely worth it to keep trying. When I first made my ADRs I couldn't get Le Cellier or 'Ohana. I just started planning our August 7th trip four weeks ago. I was late in planning so I wasn't actually expecting to get in either of them. But I kept checking back and in the past week I got lucky with getting ressies for both places. :goodvibes

Good luck!

Keep Checking, I check at least once a day , when I orginally made my ADR's the only available ressie for Le Cellier was 8:15 pm which would mean we be eating during Illuminations so some days later I changed to one I found for 4:05pm , then decided that was too early for dinner so switched to a lunch ressie instead, then just a few days ago I was able to snag a 5:30 pm for dinner which is perfect :)

Never give up!

Just keep trying...I am going 1st week of Sept and tried for Le Cellier at my 180 day window and nothing...I have continued to try and finally got a reservation for dinner on Sept 8th. I found the easiest way to search online is pick the restaurant you want, then pick lunch or dinner and the date. That way you don't have to look for the 2 hr window many times...the system will search the entire lunch or dinner window.

Last year, we decided last minute to go to Le Cellier and called dining the night before and was able to get a lunch ressie. So you never know ;)

Thanks everyone! it sounds like there is chance we could still get something. As someone said, what do I have to lose (other than a few minutes on the phone.)
