I have only done longer cruises but have decided to do a 4 night on the Magic out of NY. On 4 night cruises is the dining rotation usually 1231?

actually that makes more sense with debarkation breakfast being in the same dining room as the last dinner, you would be in the first dining room a lot with a 1231

The rotation can be anything, it is never something like 1231 or 1223 or like that, is it is, than everyone would be in the dinning at the same time, if it was 1231, half the boat would be in the dinning room each night while the others would be empty

The numbers just indicate A dining room - the 1st you visit, the 2nd you visit, or the 3rd you visit.

On the Magic, for example, 1231 could be ACLA, CLAC, or LACL. 1223 could be ACCL, CLLA, or LAAC. 1/6 of the ship will be in each dining room at each rotation.

It's just easier on here to use the numbers - meaning the 1st MDR, 2nd MDR, or 3rd MDR you are in.

Ergo the rotation CAN be 1231 or 1223 (or other variations).

Actually, it did used to be 1233 on the 4 night cruises. But, for just the reason you mention, people complaining about being in the same dining room for 2 nights in a row, and then debarkation breakfast. So DCL changed it to 1223.

The repeated dining room on the 4 night cruises is typically night 3, for pirate night.

Thanks! This makes sense!

You truly know everything!

How can one look up what the rotations are for the longer cruises (we are booked on a 10-night one next August)? I'm thinking we would like to go to Palo one night, but don't want to miss something like the Animation night at Animator's Palate. Do we just book something and then hope for the best; and if it's not to our liking change it on the ship if possible? I've never booked a longer cruise before and really have no idea if this is something I need to look into.
