My friend made all of his dining reservations online several months ago. He recently had to replace his old credit card with a new credit card. How does this impact his ADR's made with his old credit card? Does he need to do anything?
Yea, He will only get charged if he doesn't show up. But that brings up an interesting point, if he doesn't show up, how can they actually charge him if that card is no longer in use?
There are certain circumstances a credit card can be charged even it it replaced or expired. This would be one. When you put in the card number for the reservation you authorized to be charged if you don't cancel. That authorization still stands and the charge will still show up under your new card.

As long as your friend didn't completely cancel the account and only got a new card with a new number because of a security breach or lost card for example, the bank/cc company will be able to reconcile the new card number to the account.
Thanks for the info! They have a new card due to a security breach. However, what if they did cancel the card for whatever reason. This must happen from time to time, since a lot can happen in 6 months. Would those ADR's still be valid?
