Dining Reservations and Family

I love doing it when we have plenty of notice. This year we jumped in about 60 days out for Thanksgiving week with free dining! NO way was I getting much, but I managed to book adrs for all 7 days. DH has the nerve to ask why we have some ressies at 2:30?? I feel like leaving him out of the ressies altogether!! I got us in at Chef le France, Coral Reef, WCC, Crystal Palace, O'Hana, and H&V so I thought I did pretty good:rolleyes:

The bad. Just got back from taking the in-laws and an aunt (aunt was a first timer). Stayed at Pop Century and specifically the 50s building since they all remembered that decade the best. I was volunteered to plan the whole thing. You know "we'll just do whatever you think is best for us". But that's another story.

I made a lunch reservation at 50s Prime Time. Good theming, prices aren't that out of the world. No one got it. The aunt complained about prices and how the server was doing the airplane thing to two other guests. The mother-in-law just wanted to get out of there and go to the next attraction. My father-in-law loved his food but thought it was too busy of a place. The "funny" thing is that none of them could ever agree on when and where to eat counter service so this should have been a relief. Oh well.

The good. My husband will let me make reservations for the two of us anywhere I want as long as it doesn't break the bank. He just wants to know when and where. I just told him I liked the look of the new Nine Dragons menu and he said "we should try that one of these times". He doesn't care. And because of that, we've eaten in just about every Disney restaurant we could afford at the time.

I feel everyones pain. I'm planning a trip for 11 in 21 days and I have done everything except get the tickets and now that is a mess. We are DVC members and invited our good friends and thier 5 kids to come with us and we are using our points to get thier room and ours. I made reseservation in March for OKW 2 2BR and then airline tickets for all of us, then all the dinning reservation, our one night stay at Nickelodeon and car rentals. Myself and 2 kids have AP so our friends said they would get the ticket for my DH. Sounded good seeing we are saving them a lot on a room. Problem is he hasn't gotten tickets yet. He has numerous friends that work at WDW and claims he will be able to get us tickets but has not heard from most. I finally went and just purchased a pass for my husband and figure if it is not used this trip we will being going again and can use it then. I gave up on our friend getting passes and he will just have to figure it out. I know that he is trying to save a few $ becasue there is 7 of them but come on we leave in 21 days. His wife who is only going because I am planning everything is just irrate with him. As my husbands says he will spend all this time trying to save a buck or 2 and end up spend more when he has to buy the tickets at the gate. Thanks for listen to me vent I just needed to get it off my chest.

Question: Does anyone feel unappreciated in making the dining reservation for their family. I have been talking to other Disney Mom's who take on the task...same reply. Now with the 180 day out we are set pretty much by that time set, my family actually questioned where we were eating and making sure we have dining, we are less than 40 days out. My reply was I asked your opinion back in May....done. Just wondering if anyone else feels this way.

I'm an unappreciated planner too. I made all the plans for our last trip including dining based on input from DH and the kids.

Then we get there and DH is complaining about having to be somewhere for a dinner or lunch reservation. He was the one who wanted to eat TS and then suddenly doesn't.

Ha - he found out it wasn't a good idea to complain about it since he had got me excited about eating at several TS places we'd never done before cause we were going whether he wanted to or not.

So in the future I will go back to only making 1 or 2 per trip and he'll probably complain about that not being enough.

I just can't win when it comes to eating plus I hardly ever get to eat something I like at CS since the family will only eat burgers and nuggets. Nuggets and burgers the whole time we are there.
