Dining Reservation question

May 2017 we are returning to the World. We have opted for Deluxe dining this trip. We want to bring our 6 year old nephew with us this trip, but I'm not sure we will know 100% by November (our 180 day mark). If I book our reservation for party of 5, and he ends up not coming, will I still be able to keep those ressies, or will I have to redo all of them. With Deluxe dining, obviously we need to make a lot, and I fear a lot won't be available if/when we are told he can/can't come. So I am hoping someone can tell me the protocol for this situation. Thanks!

There is no penalty if you book for 5 and show up with 4, so I would book everything for 5. If he ends up not being able to join you, you can rebook any reservations that you can to potentially free up a seat for someone else, but I would just keep any that I wasn't able to revise.

Make the reservations for the maximum number of people who might be there because it is always easier to show up with less or reduce the number later. It is much harder to try and add someone later because often there are no more reservations available so then you run the risk of someone in your group not being seated and having to find elsewhere to eat.

It is always better to have booked for too many people, than book for less than what you need! I would book all adrs for 5 people and just keep them as is. There is no penalty at all if 4 show up.
