At some time in the future we will be going to Disney with DWs sister's family. I am thinking WAY ahead. This is the plan I have as of right now. There is much time for revision, so some opinions would be welcome.

We will be staying offsite. I have never stayed at a Disney resort, although I am considering that for the next trip that DW & I take together, but there is NO WAY to convince SIL that it is necessary to spend that much.

There are no children in the party. Characters are not a priority. Touring the parks is.

DW & I have breakfast in the room and get to the parks at rope drop. A frig is necessary, because I have drinkable yogurt as my breakfast. My stomach is happier that way. Also, dinner should not be TOO late for the same reason.

Arrival Day

We get to Orlando in mid afternoon. We will not go to a park that day. Everything else is up in the air.

Epcot Day

lunch--Sunshine Season

dinner--eat around the world--Cantina de San Angel, Kringla Bakeri, Sommerfest, Yakitori, Tangierine, Boulangerie, Yorkshire Fish & Chips--snacks from several of these

DW & I have eaten at Sunshine Season, Electric Umbrella, Marrakesh, and Biergarten, and snacked at Boulangerie and Yorkshire Fish & Chips. We will need to eat something during the Future World touring. DW suggested the snacking around the world.

Studios Day

lunch--Backlot Express or ABC Commissary

dinner--50s Prime Time Cafe or Hollywood & Vine

DW & I have eaten at 50s Prime Time and Hollywood & Vine and enjoyed both. I dont think we will have time for such a long lunch, especially after they add the new Toy Story Mania ride. We know nothing about counter service at Studios. I personally am leaning toward 50s Prime Time for dinner, but planning to poll the group, H&V would not be a disappointment

Magic Kingdom Day

lunch--Pecos Bill's ?

dinner--Cosmic Ray's

DW & I ate at Pinocchio Village and Cosmic Rays. Pinocchio was disappointing. We liked Cosmic Rays. I expect us to be near Frontierland/Adventureland around lunch time.

Animal Kingdom Day

lunch--Flame Tree Barbeque

dinner--Boma?

DW & I ate at Flame Tree and enjoyed it alot. We are NOT interested in Rainforest Cafe--we can eat there at home. I have never eaten at ANY of the resorts before.

Free Day

???

Departure Day

Magic of Disney store in DTD

On the arrival, free, and departure days eating is totally unplanned. We may go to Cirque if the inlaws are interested. DW & I went last time and enjoyed it. We tried to walk around West Side afterward, but it was raining hard, so we just left and did not eat. We went to DTD on our departure day to go to the Disney store. Lunch on departure day might be a possibility this time. We have never been to Pleasure Island or Boardwalk. I am interested in suggestions for non park activities for these three days, restaurants for these three days, and comments on my eating suggestions for the other days. Your opinions are appreciated. I know I enjoy giving mine from time to time.;)

If you fancy trying something unusual that night why not go down to Ragland Road in Downtown Disney and enjoy so fun Irish dancing and music. It's a nice bar and restaurant.

Good idea. Depending on when you decide to go (i.e. if in Sept-Nov) you could be lucky to catch Food & Wine Festival in swing in which case you can get loads of small snack size samples from various different countries. This is a fantastic time to go when not taking kids as they have free culinary demonstations and beer and wine tasting going on.

Studios Day
lunch--Backlot Express or ABC Commissary
dinner--50s Prime Time Cafe or Hollywood & Vine
Backlot is fantastic. Remember Hollywood&Vine is a Character Buffett and its Playhouse Disney Characters so probably not really suited to the party you are going to while Prime Time is.

Magic Kingdom Day

dinner--Cosmic Ray's
Have you tried Columbia Harbour House? It's a great CS restaurant near the Haunted Mansion that does sandwiches and chilli. They do some great food and this way you aren't having the same food twice. Have a look at the menu you might see something you like.

Animal Kingdom Day
lunch--Flame Tree Barbeque
dinner--Boma?
Definately worth going to Boma's. Its really nice and unusual. Definately worth a go! You can either drive over to AKL and park there (you get 2 hours parking) or get the bus from AK over but be warned buses to AK stop 2 hours after park close. Oh and this way you can show your SIL around the Animal Kingdom Lodge and see the animals over there.

What about going to a resort for example the Yacht and Beach Club and get something to eat there. If you like Ice-Cream the Yacht & Beach Club have Beaches & Cream which does amazing sundaes. Or you might want to go back to a park. Personally I would recommend EPCOT as I find this has the most for adults. Especially if you choose to go in F&W as mentioned as there is so much to see and do! Then you could go to DTD for Cirque maybe.

Sounds good.

Thank you for your suggestions Sarah. I will suggest Ragland Road to the group. I was not familiar with DTD options.

I appreciate the confirmation of the Backlot idea. I was definately leaning toward Prime Time.

I wish I had realized CHH was CS. I thought it was TS. It sounds much better than Pinocchio.

I was very apprehensive about the Boma idea. I really think I want it now.
I know so little about the resorts. Beaches & Cream sounds nice. Is there much to do at the Boardwalk. Ive read a little about that. Is it like a smaller DTD?

Most things at the Boardwalk are only open at night. Jellyrolls is fantastic its like a piano bar with dueling pianists and a good old fashion sing song. I love it there.
It is basically a small DTD with less things to do but its nice to walk around at night. Also you can get to the Beach club Yacht clun and the Swan & Dolphin by walking which is nice
