Dining disappointments?

I forgot to add California Grill.
My father swears we will never go back..

We arrived at 6:50-6:55ish for our 7:10 ADR, we had a CM (it seemed as if she was new) checking us in once we got there. We waited for the elevator and we were sent in. We were seated at the area of tables slightly off to your right when you walk in. We had a nice waitress, and she had another waiter alongside, I assume he was training?:confused3. At the time it was quiet, and very peaceful. As soon as we got our appetizers we saw a large group being escorted into the small event room to your right as you walk in. Occasionally our waitress would come by and ask us if we needed refills. Until she DISAPPEARED!:scared1: turns out she decided to hang in the reception of a young couple in the small event room. HER assistant who seemed to be an in-training waiter was the ONLY ONE serving us!!!!!! We called the manager over, and he was very respectable. He understood how we felt and comped dessert. We were very disappointed in the service.

Also, do you know how to save your reservation you're supposed to give your credit card number? Well, when we checked in, the woman at the front did not account for us being at our ADR. We were charged for an absence fee of 5 people, along with the already 200$ meal we paid for that night. It took us three months to dispute this charge.

My biggest disappointment was Boatwright's for breakfast. I'd heard so many good things about the sweet potato pancakes and was looking forward to trying them. I'm sorry I did--they were a gooey, undercooked mess. I didn't much like the restaurant itself, either. Way too loud and it seemed like you had to go up and down steps to get anywhere.

Marakesh was a disappointment. My meal was surprisingly bland for food from a region known for delicious spices! We won't go back again. :sad2:

of the 7 restaurants we ate at for dinner last June, we're only not going back to 2 of them on our next trip

Cap'N Jacks in Downtown Disney
Tutto Italia

Cap'n Jacks seemed like a good idea for seafood. The service was fine and the food was really good, but we live in Maryland and can have really good seafood anytime lol.

Same with Tutto Italia... the service & food was really good but nothing you can't get at any good italian restaurant, and we just happen to have a realllllly good italian restaurant in our town.

OURS TOO! We have always loved CHH. The fish was very hard and the chicken too breaded and hard. Our trip was in Sept.

You know, the odd thing was, we tried to go there I think at about 5 p.m. one night for dinner, my father and I, and the guy told us that they were closed! Um, hello? I looked at the guy and said, "Excuse me?"

We were there 10/19-25. I was really looking forward to CHH too. Poo. But we went to Cosmic Ray's and found the godsend that was cheese to go with the fries. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ooh and I forgot the 3rd we're not going back to... Wolfgang Puck in DTD. MAJOR disappointment. The food, and the service - I felt like we were being looked down on because we had the disney dining plan - they rushed us out of there!

The worst meal we had was at Garden Grill in Sept.08'.The veggies and potatoes were pretty good, but the catfish was terrible-it was extremely peppery!!!;the waitress was not very friendly, and it showed by the service we got:rolleyes1

If you ever return, ask for Victor. He is amazing!!

Our one and only COMPLETE dining dissapointment in all of our trips..was Yak & Yeti. :sad2:
Everything about it was terrible. The service and especially the food. It is the one and only place in all of the World that we will never give a second try. Our entire family unanimously voted 'never going back there!'

I know it's Park food so I can overlook not that great but I will never ever ever go to Cape Mays Clam bake i think that is what it was called, it was so bad I talked to the manager and paid childrens price but trust me I didn't even eat as much as a 3 yr old, that was just gross

Worst dining experience ever - Pepper Market. :sad2:

I have to agree on this one. We tried it on our last trip after hearing raves about it here on the Dis...well, disgusting would be an understatement and way overpriced. Never again will we go there and we warned all our friends that do Disney to stay far away from this place.

CRT Breakfast is second in line for us for a very disappointing and overhyped meal. Service was lousy, we couldn't get coffee refills or more food...the princesses are cute, but not worth the aggravation in trying to secure an ADR or the experience that followed.

San Angel - we've tried it 3 times and agree food and service were not good. It smells really great, but isn't, won't try it again.

Boatwrights - WILL NEVER GO AGAIN. Was just awful food, price and service.

Cape May - used to love this place, now is just OK, not what it used to be. Was disappointed on last visit in March, so probably won't try again for a while.

We're trying alot of new places this time so am hopeful we will find a new favorite.

For me, it was Raglan Road, last year. First, it was so noisy we truly couldn't hear each other talk. Then the food wasn't great - my fish and chips were barely lukewarm, and the breading on the fish was soggy. Yuck!

I hope no one wants to kill me for this, but I had a terrible experience at Crystal Palace. The waitress was just atrocious: she never cleared our plates, came to see how the food was, or got us refills. And we could not find her anywhere!

The food was nothing great to me either. I have eaten here in the past before and while it has never been one of my top restaurants, I usually enjoy it much more.

One tip, never do a 9:30pm reservation at CP. While there were about 10 other parties seated the same time as us, they still removed half the buffet about 10 minutes after we got there and by the time we were eating dessert, half the stuff was gone. Very disappointing. I will not be back.

Youre entire posting scares me! One thing I can not stand is dirty dishes on the table. I always make a pile of the plates and put the silverware on top and leave them at the edge of the table. My tip goes down if they are not taken away.

#2 scare...Our ressies this year are for 9:30 :scared1:

I was dissapointed with Tutto. All the restaurants in world showcase, to me, are pretty authentic. Tutto is Americanized Italian, in my opinion. In Italy, pasta is a table staple, like rolls/butter to an American, Rice and Beans to Latinos etc... Tuttos meals are pasta.

Maybe I have been spoiled living so close to Bostons North End...Best Italian in the states!

Tusker House at lunch. The dessert section wasn't bad though.

hollywood and vine is absolutely the worst...there is nothing that even comes close..the food there is brutual as is the service, so yourself a favor and never go there

Ours was lunch at the Garden Grill- gross food- lousy service- only thing that made it worth anything is the characters but overall gross

San Angel for lunch. Was there in late 2007, ate Mexican food that was only a few notches above Taco Bell. Went in the bathroom and ended up throwing up 20 minutes later. I love the atmosphere there. If only the food matched the rest of the place. I don't know how they manage to make such crummy Mexican.

I am very grateful for this thread. I planned a "last minute" trip - as in 40 days out - and all of the "popular" restaurants were ADR'd out. I had not considered that with the expansion of the DDP that restaurants would find a way to make their profit. This reinforces my plan of this trip to either do CS or eat off property.

There was a time when you could count on consistent service and food quality from Disney restaurants.

Try to snag the Turf Club. Top quality food and usually a walk in.:)
