We are planning on trying the WS culinary experience, getting a snack/ very light meal from every country as we go around. So far, I've noted many people's favorites in all the countries... yet it seems to be mostly dessert/ sweet stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love my sugar! But I would be interested in knowing about other favorites that are not sweets (someone mentioned nachos in Mexico). Thanks!

Here's some (mostly) savory choices for you!

Mexico - Nachos
Norway - Rice Cream
China - Egg Roll
Germany - Pretzel
Itlay - Gelato
America - Popcorn (or Funnel Cake :goodvibes )
Japan - Kaki Gori (or Miso Soup  )
Morocco - If you've got room, you really really need to try the Shawarma Platter
France - Cheese Plate
UK - Side of Chips (with plenty of salt and vinegar)
Canada - Turkey Leg (maybe? I can never find anything here I want)

Pretzels with spicy mustard in Germany
Fish & Chips in England
Cheese Plate or some Croissants in France

:rotfl2: Being a Canadian myself, I fail to be offended by this statement! The typical Canadian food is truly not appealing (aside from the obvious Maple Syrup).
Or poutine--it's a French Canadian fast food dish: fries, gravy and cheese... nasty delight!
The Canada Pavillion was the least of my interest (obviously). Thanks a million for the suggestions!

We love the shrimp fried rice and egg rolls from China and the fish and chips from England

France has wonderful ham and cheese croissant too

Glad to be of service! I've got several Canadian friends that I met when I moved to Scotland and every time we go out drinking all they can say is how much they wish they could end the night with poutine. I still don't really understand the appeal. :confused3

Here are some more ideas:

Mexico - Nachos
China - Egg Roll
Germany - Pretzel
Itlay - Gelato
America - Popcorn
Morocco - Try the Mint Tea ( can be hot or cold )
France - just do the Champagne!

Well, since the Beaver Tail is gone from Canada - I say let's get together and lobby for Poutine! :rotfl2:

My son went to college in Canada and still can't stop talking about it!
