I was just wondering for anyone who has used Ding if you are able to buy more than a couple of tickets at a time. I signed up for Ding about two weeks ago so I would be familiar with it for our trip in February. I have seen so far two Dings from MHT to MCO for $71. Great price for me. We will have 9-10 people going on this trip though and I am hoping if I get a good Ding price I can snag all the tickets at once. I had this problem last time with Southwest sale price and only being able to put in three tickets at a time because if I put in more people the price jumped up. Anyone been able to buy this many tickets from Ding without any problems? Thanks!

I was wondering the same thing a couple of weeks ago. :) Southwest Airlines has a new program that you install on your desktop. Every day (or so it seems) different special sales are released and you are sent an instant message type of notification. They also have the Click N Save specials and sales but these are sent by e-mail and are often sold out when I go to their website to check. With Ding you are given notification of the sale much quicker and then have a limited amount of time to book at that particular price but a better chance at getting it IMO. So far from what I have seen the prices can be very good. HTH. :sunny:

I was one of numerous people waiting for SWA to release tickets for October. I got 7 tickets for my trip @ $79+ tx each way, $184 roundtrip each from Manchester, NH to MCO. I booked them the day that SWA released the dates on their internet special rate. I booked each leg of the trip seperately so I could take advantage of any DING fares/sale fares that are released. That way, I may be able to save on at least one leg of the trip IF 7 fares become available. Don't forget, you have to cancel your booked airfare and rebook at the cheaper sale rate........although I have done this in the past, I still get nervous about it. My bottom line budget was $1200 for airfare and I got it for $1227, so I am looking good. But I won't mind getting a cheaper rate and a credit toward future flights. So far, DING has offered $71+ one way from MHT to MCO or return......not much of a saving there. The best I have done in the past was going from $79+ to $45+, that was great!!. ..... but who knows with the price of fuel these days. My plans are for locking in at what you can afford and see if you can get a sale fare later. Heaven forbid prices go up, I won't be going at all then. SWA is great for this, because they DON'T charge you a fee for changing your flights.

I love DING.....usually get about 3 a day......good luck

Oh yes, just to check things out, I did put in a request for 7 tickets on a DING fare and had not problems with that number of people. Hope, this helps.

Thank you! northwds ~ Are you saying I should book one-way tickets MHT to MCO and then one-way tickets back? I never think of that. Just automatically put in round-trip. Another of my problems could also be solved with this. We usually end up flying at the end of the month and when the new SW schedule opens up I sometimes can't book the return trip. I usually wait for them to release more dates to get both flights at once and then have a harder time finding a sale. Have you done that before? Booked the first half of the flight and then later the second half when their schedule opens up? Maybe that is why I never get great prices like everyone else seems to.

Also if a better fare comes out and you decided to cancel do you have to cancel first or do you rebook and then cancel? I am just afraid if I cancel I may lose my seats somehow all together. Can this be done on the phone? Thanks for your help.

I just booked a flight today through DING and I was able to book it for our entire party of eight. Once you click on your dates of travel it sends you to the regular southwest reservation page but it shows the discount fare only available through ding for the departing and return flights, it was no different than booking regular airfare. By the way I purchased airfare today from Chicago to Orlando for $115.00 round trip for Oct 20-Oct 25.

Did anyone else have an absurd amout of popups after installing Ding? I removed Ding and NO more popups!

I have not experienced any increase in pop-ups although I do have virus protection and pop-up blockers installed on my computer.
