Digital Membership Cards?

I did speak to my sales representative about the issue. Based on his reaction I am not the only new member this has happened to. I will try calling the IT team when I have time.
That's going to be a real headache for new VGF2 owners when it goes on sale to the general public next month. I hope that DVC is paying their IT department huge incentives to fix this blunder in a timely fashion.

Yeah, I wouldn't be pleased if I spent all that money on a direct sale and had to potentially deal with onsite issues. Silver lining - maybe since it's so widespread now it'll actually get fixed?
 
Small point of interest: my digital card was showing "DVC" (no 'Y' or 'ND'). This had been consistent for weeks. Yesterday I called member services for a different reason. Immediately before the call, my card was still showing "DVC" only. Immediately after, it started (and continues) to show "DVC ND". Not exactly an improvement, since I have a grandfathered contract that should be eligible for discounts, but something about the CM accessing the profile must have triggered the update.

Probably doesn't really help anyone, but just FYI for that minority of people who are reporting the "DVC" only label. If you want to roll the dice, try calling member services and have them access your profile. Maybe you'll get a 'Y'. Or maybe not.
 

Wouldn't she have to be there to do that though as she would have to show matching ID? His card might be in the wallet but if he doesn't have any accounts set up then it wouldn't show the DVC Y for him to get the discount on his own.
Can’t she just share his pass to him like it lets you? It has an option to share card. I sent my hubs and his card this way on ios…. Not sure if that will work for them though.

53 days & counting…not that I’m keeping track or anything.
Since this is now affecting shiny brand new direct owners rather than just second class citizen ‘grandfathered’ resale owners such as myself perhaps they’ll expend some effort training front line CMs at the parks that the temporary 1 mo. blue cards are approved for discounts/activating APs/MM entry until the wallet IT debacle is fixed. It will never get fixed, we’ll all use temporary 1 mo. blue cards in perpetuity & memory of the ill fated foray into digital wallets will fade like a bad dream.

No because the shared card doesn't share the code needed.

Unfortunately we are in the same boat as you, brand new direct Riviera owners (300 points) and our membership cards show “ND”. When we first set it up, our cards used to show “Y” but something has changed recently and now they show “ND”.

I would try to contact our guide, but we got a lovely card in the mail today saying our guide is no longer serving in that role. Wonderful.
 
New DVC member here. Bought 375 Riviera points direct. Just did orientation call and got MDE connected to my DVC account. Noticed blue card has affiliation: DVC ND. Orientation CM tried a few steps to correct but no luck. Next trip isn’t until thanksgiving week so not too worried about it but thought I would share.

Ouch! The only positive to take from this is that the system was not set up to shut out resale buyers who are eligible if it’s not even letting new direct get the correct info,

Now it makes me wonder if the messing around they are trying to do to fix it is making it worse not better.

I say scrap it, get rid of the white identification card, and just offer those eligible with the temporary blue card from the website.

The temp ID card we have to print out or take a screen shot of? I guess that would work, but I would really prefer to simply swipe my phone or magic band. Has a magic band ever connected to the blue card?

No, MB do not Apply the discount.

now you don’t swipe the MM pass. You show it, with ID, and then pay however you want.

So, you are not getting away with pulling anything up except for mobile check outs which apply automatically.

That is why they have kept the temporary blue card because things are not working

GM - back again. I had to step away and take a breather. Was really annoyed/fed up. It should not take up this much time. Sorry. Tech smart/savy or not -

I left off where I set up a dvcmember log on for DH and set up MDE.

Next day, my son set up google pay on his phone - (Android?) - he then tried to proceed with setting up the card on the phone like he did with mine but with no success.

Does he need to have reservation linked to MDE? (I could not link. It said confirmation already linked to me). It said to call. This should not be needed anyway to set up Membership card.
Does he need to have AP linked to his MDE? How do we link his AP? This should not be needed also. One can have a Membership card without any existing reservations/tickets.

It says his name ...".........".Plans and tickets = but nothing else on the page after that.

My son??

This is for my husband :) - my son is setting up/downloading cards on my phone for me. (He and my other son happen to be DVC members too). My son happens to be on my friend list too - but I want my husband to have his own Membership Card on his own phone so if he golfs, "IF", he can use the discount. We are always together = this is why, it's annoying me but might as well do it for the future.

So, yes, my husband is on my friends and family list on my MDE. Is my husband supposed to have anything on his page on MDE?

Sorry if I am confusing this more :tilt:
