Digital Membership Cards?

My son??

This is for my husband :) - my son is setting up/downloading cards on my phone for me. (He and my other son happen to be DVC members too). My son happens to be on my friend list too - but I want my husband to have his own Membership Card on his own phone so if he golfs, "IF", he can use the discount. We are always together = this is why, it's annoying me but might as well do it for the future.

So, yes, my husband is on my friends and family list on my MDE. Is my husband supposed to have anything on his page on MDE?

Does the profile entry for your husband on your Family & Friends list on the MDE website include to Plans manage by me notation (see image below for example)?

If it does, you need to click "Update", then "Share Planning with {name} and then enter the email your husband used to create his MDE account.

No, he used my phone and added my card and my husbands to my wallet - iPhone. If my husband decides to golf, I was going to just give him my phone but His card on my phone shows only name and ID - no affiliation. I am all set.

My son tried to do the same with my husbands phone. He is just doing it for us. He did mine with no issues.

I will see him again (I babysit my grandson) one more time before we leave for WDW. Not sure what else to try - except call again and stay on hold for another hour

Yes, I see that. My apologies. I should have been more clear about my son using "his" phone - meaning using my husband's phone. Have had quiet a few posts the last page or two. Just getting frustrated with it all.

I just went to my MDE. Yes, it showed plans managed by me. I updated and entered his birth date - was not there. I also added his email address. I see he needs to accept. I went to his email and accepted. Signed on to his MDE and it says "congratulations, you are now connected to Anna". I see all my family and friends on the list and all of our plans.

As soon as my husband comes back, I will look at the DVC Digital Membership video and see if I can add his Membership card myself to his phone (now that I updated his MDE). Hopefully this will do the trick. If I can't/doing something wrong, I will have to wait until I see my son.

No, they aren't all like that. I got my own MDE Digital Wallet card set up in about 5 minutes, and got DW and DS set up with their own sign in credentials via chat in about 30 minutes total (including wait time), then they each set up their own phones (they are Android, I am IOS). BTW, DW is 62 and had no problems setting up her own phone. (although she and DS set their phones up concurrently so there may have been some coaching that I didn't catch).

Also, all digital cards are showing the correct DVC Y/ND designations.

No clue if my son did this. I doubt I did anything. How would I know if it's linked? What am I looking for? and if not, what do I do?

You have no idea how helpful you are. I am going to go and look at the video myself right now too while I have a moment.

You can check by logging on to MDE (again) as your husband. Navigate to his profile (click his name at the top) and then Memberships & Passes. If linked, it will say Disney Vacation Club Member and display his Club ID below it.

If not linked, you will need to call MS and select the web help option (IIRC: 1 then 6 on phone menu) and they can provide the Club ID and one-time activation code necessary to link DVC to MDE. If chat is available on the member website, they can provide that information also.

I was able to get the member number and activation code for DW and DS via chat back in December, although others have stated they were unable to do this. Worth a try.

I dit it!!! I dit it!!! Finally !!!

Looked at video. Did not know my dh's google email/account. Had it sent to dh's email. Did not know his password/ some activation codes and done.

Card is good/right affiliation.

Really really thankful for all the help and patience!!!!! (both retired here/we don't do 1/4 of the things our phones are capable of doing - same thing goes for the computer/laptop).

65 pages of Disney IT fail... How sad, but not unexpected.

Now be fair, there may be a page or 2 of it being correct!! Seriously, though, the issue was discovered almost two months ago...how the heck is it either not fixed, or they haven't simply found a way to eliminate the white member identification on the website, and add a DVC Y to the temporary blue card, and call it a day until they figure out this MM stuff....
 
I'll add one more, the sign up for the Grand Floridian Villa Sweepstakes wouldn't let me enter in the "_" (underscore) for my email address......... so any one with a "-" or "_" can't enter. >:(

IME w/ Disney tech problems we get the first post reporting the problem, followed by a flurry of others reporting they have the same problem, then the it’s fixed or here’s the work around reports & the thread dies.
Instead we have almost zero reports of ND changing to Y and we are now learning that the ND virus appears to be spreading to new direct owners. The getting worse not better aspect is, well, unique.
 
Another brand new direct purchaser and it’s showing ND on our card too. Most CM’s honoured the discount while we were there, apart from one in world of disney. Hoping it’ll be sorted by the time we get back in October!

Glad to hear most folks honored it! Hopefully knowledge about the bug is spreading
 
Hi - old "grandfathered" owners back from a recent trip. Can report that most places took the screenshot of Temp Blue card, some even took the DVC ND on the MM app. We did receive some push back from a CM at the Contemporary Gift shop that made it seem like we were not allowed to get the discount and that she would do this 'favor' to us, this one time, but overall most CM gave us the discount with no issues.

After being back for a few weeks, i tried the 'fix' posted earlier in this thread again....and ours still say DVC ND. :-(
