Different Compensation other than Golf

I am disappointed in the compensation we as PAP holders and the people that have the & More tickets are getting. A round of golf at a 9 hole WALKING course.

What about the people who do not golf? Luckily my family does but A round of golf to me doesn't quite cut.

So, if you don't golf you get.........nothing.

At least give a credit towards accommodations or food. Something everyone that is going to WDW can use. The money still stays at Disney.

What do you think?

On Disney's site it states that in compensation for no longer being able to go to PI people with PAP and & More tickets will get a 9 hole round of golf.

So for all the times we could go to AC you get 1 round of 9 hole golf.

Pleasure Island is closing all clubs on September 27.

If you had a PAP or a Water Park and More option on your ticket, then one of your entitlements will vanish.

WDW is replacing the PI entitlement with the aforementioned (or after mentioned because I don't know where this post will end up) round of golf.

Pleasure Island is closing all clubs on September 27.

:faint: Even the Adventurers Club?? I only just discovered it!
What are they going to do with all that space? Any idea?

PLEASURE ISLAND NIGHTCLUBS CLOSING

SEPTEMBER 28, 2008

After close to 20 years in operation, Disney's Pleasure Island is undergoing a major overhaul, including the closure of the Adventurer's Club, Comedy Warehouse, 8 Traxx, Mannequins and BET Sound Stage.

While details are scant, the redesigned Pleasure Island will be a mix of new dining and shopping venues.

Pleasure Island Annual Passholders can request a pro-rated refund.

The Pleasure Island nightclub entry option on both Premium Annual Passes and Water Park Fun & More passes will no longer be offered after September 28. Starting on June 28, a round of golf on the nine-hole Oak Trail Golf Course will become a ticket enhancement for both of these passes.

So if you don't golf, then get a refund.

You can only get a refund on Pleasure Island AP.

Now since you can still use the plus options for the waterparks, I don't expect Disney to give you anything else.

(But I expect lots of whining on here..... and I bet some folks who complain never even went to PI LOL!)

This doesn't have any effect on the Disney Quest admission included on the waterpark fun and more pass, does it??

How about this. In exchange for Disney making the extremely stupid move of closing the clubs at P.I. all the premium passholders get automatic fastpass rights at all rides and attractions?

Single day PI = approx $22
One round Oak Trail = approx $38

The PAP previously included unlimited admission to PI.

Now, I understand that OT is a bigger value BUT offering a single round as a replacement for an entire year of admission

While I am very happy about the option as we've been talking about a family outing on this course for some time, I do NOT think a single round is equitable compensation.

Like the above post, my husband and I would like to try this course. My two boys love to golf and since they are 7 and 4, 9 holes is about all they (and my DH and I) can take. So we can at least take advantage of this.

I just don't think it is fair for those who do not golf. They really get the short end of the stick.

My husband and I loved to escape to PI when we had the chance to go without the kids. It will be missed by us. And for how many times we went and would have gone this isn't much of a comp to us still.

In my opinion, there is a lot of things that would be minor for Disney to give away, but would make a world of difference to us that love going. Something everyone could take advantage of.

My family is very unhappy with the golf "compensation" for the PI clubs closing. We would not have purchased three PAPs if we knew Adventurer's Club was closng - we go there a couple of times each trip and were planning on visiting often during our November trip. One round of golf vs unlimited admission to the clubs. Give me a break - I'll have to read the fine print on the pass, but I assume it says Disney is not responsible for closing of attractions...

I guess we're in good shape then... we didn't go to PI nor do we golf! I"m still happy then!!!!:cool1: :yay:

Unfortunately that is exactly what the fine print on all tickets says..

However, do we know for a fact that the PAP holder is only eligible for ONE round of golf? Or is it -- unlimited - based on tee time availability???

I'm glad I'll be there two weeks before PI closes so I can at least use my Water Park & More for it while there.

I wish they would have made the switch to a choice of the golf course they did OR one round at one of the miniature golf courses for the Water Parks and More. We definitely would have used our Plus admissions for the mini golf.

Not complaining though. We will just use it for the Water Parks or DQ.

That was my general way of thinking. I know Disney likes to squeeze every penny they can out of you; but it hardly seems fair to let WP&M tickets be used more than once on it (in that I assume you could use all of your options on golf if you so desired) and only allow PAP holders one round of golf, period. :confused3
