Sorry guys, we have had to cancel our cruise for personal reasons. I hope you all have a fabulous time!
Sorry to hear that
I want to do the same thing. We can book on 1/17 our Palo. I am hoping to call earlier in the week to see if they have our schedule yet.
We are starting to loose our FE group. I am wondering if more people will join our board as it gets closer? I think we might lose some more people as final payment approaches. Just booked our
travel insurance yesterday. First time we have gotten travel insurance. There were so many companies and choices I was not sure where to start. I went with Travel Guard because they had kids free with the parents. I am hoping not to use them.
We need someone in our group who's at concierge level so they can request the dining info. Come on, doesn't anyone want to upgrade for us?
Kristi, from previous cruise meet threads I would bet that we lose a few more folks by Dec 17, and then we'll get a whole bunch of new people in January and February. But even if there are only a few of us, we will have loads of fun with the FE exchange!
Sandy, I got our
trip insurance through Travel Guard. They had kids free and I was actually surprised at how inexpensive it was. We went with the Gold plan and it was $149 for the 5 of us. I rounded up our trip cost and then divided it by 5, so we were each covered equally. I got that advice from this board. We can cancel for illness or loss of job. Now that I think about it, I don't know if it covers illness or death of a family member not traveling. Well, no one is allowed to get sick or die before we go.
Welcome Virdis!! Thanks for the information.
I also checked out Travel Guard Gold and it definitely covers you if you have to cancel due to serious illness or death of any of the travelers or close family members not traveling. Not that you ever want to use it but it's good it's there!
A reminder to any USAA members out there: they offer travel insurance too and for us it's been the cheapest we found. (Kids are also covered for free.) For non-USAA members, try insuremytrip.com. Great place to get quotes and compare a lot of different policies.
Bought our plane tickets last night!

Got a great deal from Seattle to LA on Alaska.

Getting those tickets makes the trip seem more real, doesn't it? Congrats on getting a good deal - airfare can be ridiculous these days.
Welcome, virdis - to the cruise and to the DIS boards!
