Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

All we have booked so far is the pirate excision in PV.
I read in cabo most beaches are public and it's very easy to get around at the end of the marina.
One article I read said you can get a water taxi/boat at the marina over to the beach. Anyone done this or read about it?
I 'm hoping that the next few mnths will see more post on the boards about MR excisions.

Yep, that's what we did. You take a tender from the ship to the dock and you can get a water taxi from there that will take you to the beaches. We paid a little extra and got a water tour of the area. I felt very safe in Cabo.

The only excursion we booked was Manzanillo: Karmina. We plan on doing PV and Cabo on our own. Considering Krystal resort in PV. Anyone else planning on walking there?

We're local & passholders, so we can meet in the park most anytime. :earboy2:Melanie (my2mickeykids) how about you?
Sorry to say, I did NOT see Johnny Depp on Monday when we were both in the park all day. pirate:

Thank you for the invite but we are going to be eating in the park on Friday night at Cafe Orleans. Must get my Mickey beignet fix! :thumbsup2 Ohh man what I wouldn't do to see Johnny Depp!

Got to have the Monte Cristo there, too. Same as the Blue Bayou, less money. You MUST try the beignets at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney. Served piping hot, covered in powdered sugar. :worship:Whoever is in the parks before the cruise, lets try to get a quick 'Hello' in. :wave2:

In Cabo we've just gone to the beach and hang out in front of "The Office". It's a restaurant/bar and all you have to do is get a few drinks and you get lounge chairs and an umbrella...we watch the kids play in the shores of the ocean with a beautiful view of the ship in the background. We also usually rent a jet ski and my husband takes the boys out right from the beach shore! I recommend it and it only costs you the cost of the drinks and whatever else you buy (or jet ski rental). Very relaxing.
Thanks Lisa! I just talked to Jason and this is what we decided to do. I can't see paying so much $ (I think it was $85 per adult and $65 per child) to visit the beach.:confused3

Was just reading a thread about DCL pulling out of Matzatlan and replacing it with a 2nd day at Cabo...just checked our ressies and it shows Cabo for day 8 & 9. :woohoo:

While I understand that they have to put safety first, I'm not too happy with the change. Randi's in Mazatlan is our favorite excursion.:(

My Cabo excursion is missing from our reservation now too. They're probably trying to rearrange and add things over the 2 days. I wonder if we'll stay overnight or go back to sea at night?

Hi All,

Booked for the 10 day MR a couple months ago and never joined the board. Was going on the Dream MV but had to back out and now my attention is on the MR.

Would like to be added to the FE list!!!

We are GTY as of now but will post room number as time draws near.

Glad you joined us. There are a few military on the ship. My husband is Ret. from the Marine Corp. Welcome we have a good group here. There is also a website set up, just don't know how to show that.

We are also reserved for Randi's Happy Horses, and are really looking forward to it. I'll be disappointed if we miss it. Is there also a horse adventure in Cabo? Feel bad that Randi will lose so much business.

Just checked my ressies and it still shows Mazatlan.

It looks like we have indeed have a change. At first I did not think so either. If you log on to DCL website and retrieve your reserverations, then and go to "My Cruise Plans", scroll down to "Confirmed Reservations" section and you will notice that Day 8 & Day 9 are both in Cabo. I don't think they have updated the rest of DCL site yet with the changes.

From what I have researched tonight, this all has come about due to a shooting of a Canadian tourist in Mazatlan. See link below (Warning: It contains graphic picture of aftermath of shooting)

http://www.canada.com/news/shot+after+being+caught+Mexican+drug+crossfire/4128937/story.html

While I know many may be dissappointed at the change, I think DCL is doing the right thing in protecting passengers from the possibilty of violence. :surfweb: -Virdis

Arg, your're right. Have to start re-planning. Still looking to do horseback riding on the beach, but the DCL port adventure in Cabo is for ages 12+. I 'll look into PV and might have to switch Pirates Adventure from PV to Cabo. No time to have to re-plan it all!

Yes, it is changed on ours as well. I personally am excited. We were going to stay on the boat in Mazatlan anyway and felt like we didn't get enough time in Cabo so for our family this works great!

If you have kids, pack a few sand toys and a shovel too (if you have the room). ;)

I'm happy too, although having done Randi's in the past I know how disappointing it is to those who've booked with them. But we were going to stay on in Maz too based upon some very good information from a friend who's a detective and works with the DEA and another friend with family in Mazatlan. They both went into detail with me about things that have not be reported on in the press and they both had strongly suggested we stay on in Maz. I trust whatever decisions DCL makes.

Wow. I'm surprised that we didn't get some sort of notice from Disney that one of the ports have been changed. Cabo is the best port on the itinerary anyway and we had the shortest time there, so this will give us more time.

:welcome: Welcome! I've added your family to the roll call on our website (see my signature for a link). If you'd like to send me a photo, I'll upload to the website too. Send it to my email: travelbee1871@yahoo.com

We reserved Randi's Happy Horses too, but I agreed with PP - better safe than sorry.

We have a timeshare in Cabo and used to go every year before we got hooked on the Disney cruises. The tender boat pretty much drops you off where the water taxis are. I think they charge pp and will take you to Medano Beach or Lover's beach (near the arches). Shopping and great restaurants are all within a 5 minute walk. The mall with high end shops is a bit further but we have walked it before. We've done horseback riding in Cabo before too and they will take you on the beach and get a great photo with the arches in the background. Although the route there isn't the most scenic. In the past our concierge arranged the horseback riding but there are many "tours" company right at the marina.

Thank you so much for the info about cabo. I was disappointed how short of time we have there and am glad that it looks like will get another day there:yay:
My family was also going to stay on the boat in Matzalan so now this does work out great and will give us 2 beach days:cloud9:

Also if anyone does find any horse back riding that allows young kids (7 yr old) please let me know. the outside shore excursions were either 10/12 yr olds.

I wonder if the port taxes are the same price in Matzlan as they are in cabo :confused3 Maybe will get a refund?(one can only hope)

i just saw the changes in the itenerary now.i`m a litte sad but better safe then sorry.welcome all new cruisers.
