Diez (10) Noches Calientes en la Riviera Mexicana/17 de abril 2011 (4.17.11 Wonder!)

I'm happy too, although having done Randi's in the past I know how disappointing it is to those who've booked with them. But we were going to stay on in Maz too based upon some very good information from a friend who's a detective and works with the DEA and another friend with family in Mazatlan. They both went into detail with me about things that have not be reported on in the press and they both had strongly suggested we stay on in Maz. I trust whatever decisions DCL makes.
I remember you telling us this a while back. I also trust whatever decisions that DCL makes and am looking forward to an extra day in CABO!:cool1:
Thanks for the tip on sand toys for the kids...I totally forgot about them.

:dance3:I've seen they'll take kids from the late seating dinner off to the clubs around 9pm... is this ALL the kids clubs or certain ages?:dance3:

I'm not sure about Flounder's (which is for infants and you pay by the hour) but I do know the regular kids clubs are usually open until 11 and sometimes midnight. On our PC cruise, for the first time ever, DCL hosted a sleepover for the kids! My oldest stayed all night and our younger one only lasted until 1am but they said it was a ton of fun. I can tell you there were times we had to literally pull our kids out of the clubs...they take good care of them with structured activities (not, "Let's watch a video for 5 hours"). :thumbsup2

Has anyone emailed Randi to let her know that DCL won't be in port on Easter? Do you think we all should email her to let her know we need to cancel?

I would...although she probably already knows. Talk about devastating a business. Tourism is about all these ports having going for them and the drug runners have to ruin it. Their economy NEEDS tourists. What a mess!

Couldn't get on the board last night for some reason. Just wondering how all of the weight loss is coming. I have lost another 2 pounds and have been noticing my pants are getting loose. I actually had to tighten my workout pants the other day they kept falling off.
I am actually looking forward to being in Cabo 2 days have never been there but have heard alot of good things about that city. Won't cry so much over Matzalan, just sorry for people like Randi.

I couldn't get on either. Great job on the weight loss!!! :cool1: I've lost 21 lbs since 9/15 and hubby has lost 27! Woo hoo! I still have a little more work to do and he's done (lucky him).

I know...I'm feeling bad for Randi.:(

Hello All...

I am so glad to find this forum. I am a first time cruiser and am so excited to join the Disney Cruising family. Just wanted to say hello!

I will be travelling with my DH (in our 30's), my two sons (ages 4 and 1), and my parents (age-late 60's).

Any recommendations for us? Anything would be appreciated! Any recommendations for our kids? Anyone out there with boys our age?

By the way, what is FE?

Welcome :cheer2: we have a very good group here and lots of DCL vets. We are cruising on DLC for the first time also. So should be fun.

Sheesh, go away for a quick weekend cruise and come back to a new itinerary for April. I heard about DCL dropping Mazatlan while onboard the cruise to nowhere this weekend, but I heard about it from a fellow cruiser, not from any of the crew. :rotfl:

I mentioned our 10 night cruise several times, and I mostly got blank stares. I think the crew is more focused on the here and now than on what's coming up... other than Alaska of course. There seems to be a lot of excitement for that. I didn't speak to anyone at Guest Services though. They might be more aware of the upcoming schedule. Maybe Kristi got more info from them. :thumbsup2

:welcome:lymommy you will love dcl.my dd is 4 and she love playing with boys.
az pirates please tell us what do you think of the wonder?did you guys have fun?

Was just reading a thread about DCL pulling out of Matzatlan and replacing it with a 2nd day at Cabo...just checked our ressies and it shows Cabo for day 8 & 9. :woohoo:

I was really disappointed to hear this. I had been looking forward to Stone Island. I wish DCL would consider another port like La Paz or Zihuatanejo, I heard those were nice. I would actually prefer PV twice over Cabo. There was more things I wanted to do in PV.

Hi All,

Booked for the 10 day MR a couple months ago and never joined the board. Was going on the Dream MV but had to back out and now my attention is on the MR.

Would like to be added to the FE list!!!

We are GTY as of now but will post room number as time draws near.

DW - Tammie
DH - Mark
DS Tyler (13)
Family Friend - Kathryn (16)

Also have other family members going in 2 other staterooms....

Welcome! I added you and your family to our FE list.

Welcome!! The FE is like a gift exchange, you place small gifts in envelopes outside of the other participants doors. Check out these links for more information and pictures:

If you are interested in joining, let me know all the names and ages of kids in each stateroom participating. I will also get cabin numbers as we get closer.

Sheila, I had a good time and enjoyed the Wonder. I also did not get much information on our 10 day. You are right, all the staff onboard are working for that cruise and really does not know anything beyond. I spoke to Guest Relations and they had no information for our cruise. They said that is all done through Shoreside, they get no information ahead of time.

I will post about my trip later today. I am off to shower, pick up son from Kindergarten, Dr's appt. for son and possible ear infection, and then a Brownie meeting after school today.

Anyone else not able to book excursions on DCL site for the first Cabo day (Easter)? It would only let me book for the second day...

Me too! I read on another thread they're trying to establish more vendors and to hang tight. I also read they're working to send a letter out. I'm sure they're scrambling right now with MR cruises getting ready to leave (or didn't one just go on Sunday, can't remember).

Just got off the phone with DCL about adding some notes to our ressie about food allergies and asked about the new port times for Cabo. This is what I was told
April 24. 6:30 am to 6pm( not sure exact last tender) than going out to sea and back in on April 25 at 6am- 3:30( not sure time of last tender)
He also said to keep in mind that this is subject to change.

I imagine they (DCL) are in a mad scramble right now. I really feel bad for those that are on the first MR cruise which left yesterday. Many of them probably didn't find out of the change to Cabo until they boarded. Even worse, if they had excursions with outside tour lines, they may not have much communication with ones they already booked in Mazatlan and now have to figure out what to do for second Cabo day. What a planning nightmare :sad2:

Serious nightmare! Those poor people, I didn't even think about those who booked on their own!! I will say, on our past cruises we've typically booked our excursions independently but after this, it does make me think twice. We had made the decision a few months back, while we'd rather have the extra $$ in our pocket, because of the volatility in MX we'd only book through DCL for this trip. Hey, we planned on paying for our kids and then they did KSF so I guess ya could we do have extra $$ in our pocket after all, lol! I'm curious to read their trip reports when they return!
