Did you gain weight while at Disney?

I lose at least 5 lbs before I go so that I can eat whatever I want and I always gain weight there.

up until last trip, no - never gained

but last trip during F&W - let's just say i made up for all that! :rotfl:

(guess tasting one or two items from each and every food booth at the F&W caught up to me....)

Thank you guys for your comments!

So - hopefully I'll be losing a few pounds..he he!! I do not exercise at all and don't diet but I can't pig out if that makes sense. So maybe with eating what I want on the trip and getting some exercise I'll be ok if not lose a couple!

Calorie intake vs. calorie usage.... last trip I gained about 2 to 4 pounds , but its hard to diet on a vacation , gl

I too lost weight - about 8 or 9 pounds - all that walking helps!!!:thumbsup2 And it wasn't even like I was watching what I was eating - except watching it get shoved in my face!!!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I always lose 1-2 pounds and I eat a lot while we are there. I don't lose much as I am used to the walking for exercise (around 18 miles a week), but I am glad I don't gain while there.

I usually lose 10 - 14 lbs. on a 9 to 10 night WDW vacation. However, I usually graze throughout the day, eating a table service meal every two or three days. I don't limit my food selections, except I do try to watch my sodium intake a bit.

In October, 2006, we were at WDW for 10 nights (checked in 09/30/06--last possible date!) and lost about 8 lbs. on the free DDP--with appetizer. We did try to dine earlier in the evening--between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.--even though we rarely called it a night before midnight. :)

Now if I could only maintain that weight loss at home! *LOL*

Depends on what time of year you go. We went during Sep (still hot/humid) on the DDP however with all the walking/sweating, we actually lost a pound or so.

I think you just have to give in to the fact that you probably will gain a few pounds and you just can't worry about it because you're on vacation. Two suggestions are making sure you drink water and maybe even opting for water instead of soda or alcohol. Also, try to have a piece of fruit at at least one meal.

I never have, but I never get dessert, don't eat snacks, don't drink caloric beverages and walk a lot while I'm there. That isn't to say that I don't eat a lot while I'm there (to the point of stuffing myself at buffets sometimes), but we don't do the DDP and don't have table service meals every day. Then again, my DH and kids, who DO get dessert, eat snacks, drink sugared sodas and, in DH's case, adult beverages, don't gain weight either. They all have super speedy metabolisms, though.

Glad to hear this one. I walk/jog a lot now and am hoping to at least stay even on our trip. I only drink diet beverages and water. That will stay the same on the trip. I plan on eating fruit and or yogurt for breakfast. Just hoping the walking balances out the lunch and dinners. I have spent the last year and a half losing 65 pounds, so I don't want to blow it. But I also do not plan on skipping some favorites.

It will be fun to walk around the parks weighing so much less than when I went in 2006.

I don't usually gain or lose weight, but you bet I use all the walking I do as an excuse for an extra mickey bar! :mickeybar

I'll be in Disney in exactly 19 days! :cool1:
I haven't been there in over 10 years and I was very little so I don't really remember a whole lot, especially the food. I plan to eat soooo much during this vacation. You could call me and my DBF "foodies" and we have 7 ADR's and have planned out basically what we are doing for every meal. We have researched food and dining more than anything for our vacation. I plan on gaining at least 5 pounds. :rotfl:

well...last trip even with the walking I gained 6.5 pounds....

LOL

Yes, but aren't you the guy who ate nothing but desserts at the Bistro?? :lmao: :rotfl: Loved that dining review!

I've lost 117 lbs in the last 16 months, and I'm losing an extra 5 in preparation! My body just might go into shock from all that yummy, calorific food :scared1:

Oh man I don't know how all you lucky people managed to lose weight at WDW. I guess I found it - 7 pounds in both of my last 2 trips!

I'm worried I'll gain...it will be hard to resist all of that terrific food. Plus...I love Dole Whips, frozen lemonade...

*sigh* I'll report back after my trip, but I'm expecting to come home with extra baggage.
