Did you do anything special for your 40th bday?

I didn't want to be 40 and was not looking forward to it. Then, on the actual day, had a truly horrible day at work and my boss said I could go home early. Instead I went shopping and had my makeup done at the Chanel counter at Macy's and got a new handbag & felt much better.

I am 10 days older than DH. Since our b-days are so close, we decided to celebrate both of our 40th bdays with a trip to Puerto Rico. The kids stayed home with my parents and DH & I had 4 days of fun in the sun! It was great. I love vacationing with my kids, but it was nice to have some grown-up time on this trip. Swimming up to the pool bar for a pina colada, relaxing and reading book after book while sitting at the pool, etc. is stuff that I love to do but can't when the little ones are with us.

I am 7 days older than DH. So, I guess he'll have some say in what we do.

After reading all these great posts... I think I want to go on a trip. Maybe Hawaii or a cruise. I would love to go on the Disney Dream, but it won't be sailing until 2011. DH probably wouldn't go for another Disney cruise anyway. He's been wanting to try Royal Caribbean.
