Did you do anything special for your 40th bday?

Went to Disneyland with my family! OK actually we spent the majority of the actual day in California Adventure (our fave). :)

DisneyCP2002, there seems to be a missing letter in the text under your vacation ticker...:3dglasses

:scared1: I will be 40 in April!!!!! We planned a trip to Disney!:lovestruc My DS will be 11 on the 26 and I will be 40 on the 27!:lovestruc Anyway, my DH is not the planner surprise kind of guy, if you know what I mean.;)

I decided we would go to Epcot that day and dine at the Coral Reef. I am going to order a cake as well! My DH is a wonderful guy just not into thinking ahead!;) I will also go to pick a pearl and make a purchase! I did this for Mother's day and I love my choice! The day before DS wants O'Hanna for breakfast then what? It will be his day! Maybe a cake too!:wizard:

Enjoy your b-day!!!:wizard:

Had friends over for cake, I think, but what was special was hubby sent me (at work) 40 roses. Everyone at work came by to see them (including our college president) and to wish me happy birthday. It was really wonderful. The roses were AMAZING!

For my 30th, I did get a tattoo. :lmao:

For my 40th, my DH took me to WDW. We stayed at the Swan and since my birthday is in November, the food and wine festival was going on. On my actual birthday, DH asked what restaurant I wanted to eat in. The Steelers were playing the Packers on Sunday night football, so at my request we spent it at the ESPN club cheering my Steelers on.

DH did tell the waitress and she brought out a cupcake with a candle. The table of men in front of us sang me Happy Birthday. And yep the Steelers won! :thumbsup2

I went to Disney for my 40th birthday. Didn't want a party or anything like that, I just wanted to be in my fave place! I didn't think we would be able to go; DD is in college so pretty much what used to be our "fun" money is now our tuition money, but DH quit smoking on my 39th birthday. I started saving the $40 per week he used to spend on butts towards a trip to Disney and I was able to plan a budget trip for the 5 of us to be in Disney for my 40th:woohoo:

We did a Disney Magic Cruise! My 40th was a month away from our 10th anniversary, so instead of having party we went with our best friends on the cruise. Best time ever!

New Years birthdays(Jan 2) stink when you work in the accounting dept. Ten years ago we were required to work because they needed to have the firms profit & loss right away.

Now that I could take the day off I didn't even realize my 50th in 2 months would land on the weekend but it's expensive to go to Disney at that time.

We were on vacation at my favorite beach, Anna Maria Island. I took a long walk on the beach in the morning, spent the day lying in the sun at the beach and by the pool, went out to dinner, ate too much. Went to the beach for the sunset and watched the clouds roll in, ran back to the hotel and got drenched. Went to bed early....It was a heavenly day.......DH let me do whatever I wanted and he took care of the kids needs all day.

For #41 we were at Disney. Went to the MK, dd went to the BBB, had ressies at the CP for lunch and it was closed!?! so we ended up at The Plaza and the Mayor sang Happy Birthday to me.

I'm glad my birthday is in June...I like to be on vacation for my birthday.

I am 10 days older than DH. Since our b-days are so close, we decided to celebrate both of our 40th bdays with a trip to Puerto Rico. The kids stayed home with my parents and DH & I had 4 days of fun in the sun! It was great. I love vacationing with my kids, but it was nice to have some grown-up time on this trip. Swimming up to the pool bar for a pina colada, relaxing and reading book after book while sitting at the pool, etc. is stuff that I love to do but can't when the little ones are with us.

I didn't do anything for mine--40 is no big deal in my book--its the 50th birthday that I am looking forward to having a party for! It will be a combo birthday/retirement party for me! My 50th birthday will be in 3 years in April, then 2 months later June 1st I retire!!! Going to have a retirement birthday party!!! Yea!!!! Certainly not dreading my 50th!!!

On my fortieth, I also wanted to get a tattoo but let DH talk me out of it. I wanted a small mickey head above the inside of my right ankle. I am about to turn 45 and determined to get one this year. I wish like heck that I had gotten it at 40. If you really want one, do it. We only go around life once, KWIM?

2 more years for me until the big 4-0!! I want to do something fun and Disney related of course.
These are the ideas (btw I plan to start saving now)
--Buy more DVC pts
0r--Go to Vero Beach
or--Disney Dream cruise
--or return to DL
* I know these are really "shooting for something"....but I figure if I am still healthy and all is well, I need to go for it and live life to the fullest!! I promised myself this summer .... no regrets!:lovestruc

Probably not really what you have in mind, but DH and I spent the night at a bed and breakfast on Mackinaw Island. We got up early and went for a bicycle ride and it was strange seeing Main Street completely devoid of people, except for one street cleaner. Then we rode around the island as the sun came up. It was great!

I quit smoking, of course I was sick as a dog for the week before and after my birthday, so it was really easy to quit :rotfl: I was so miserable I didn't even notice the withdrawl.

Other than that I went out to eat with family one night and family and friends to a local casino for dinner and fun.

Ps: I already have two tattoos that I got earlier (one in late 20's and one in my 30's) but I think a small celebratory tat is fine, expecially if YOU want one.

In May 2007 we went to Hawaii to celebrate 4 things, our youngest son turning 16 (April), our oldest graduating high school (May), my husband turning 40 (during the trip) and my oldest turning 18. We stayed on the beach in Maui. We went to a laua on my husband's birthday and had a blast. Maui is such a beautiful place. I want to go back in a few years.

In Feb 2009 we went to Florida for my 40th. My brother in law gave me a week of his timeshare to stay in a nice condo with my husband, mom, brother, and sister. We had a great time. My husband baught me a tiara to wear to DW on the big day. I had not been to Disney since I was a kid, and man has it changed!!!

We loved it so much, that me and my husband went back for a week in July and stayed at the Coronado Springs. WONDERFUL!

Looking forward to the AK next June.

Hope you have a great day!

Oh and the tattoo....I did that in the 30's, but my mother, who is a sweet soft spoken little lady, got a toe tattoo on her 60th! It matches mine and my sisters!

Just got back from turning 40 at WDW. It was great! Food and Wine Festival offered many chances to celebrate - and I got my phone call from Goofy. We did splurge and stay at Beach Club for the occasion, and DH gav me the gift of not looking at his crackberry even once the entire day.:cloud9:

Happy Birthday - 40 is Fabulous!

My DH said he would take me anywhere in the world I wanted to go -- so I went to Disney World!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And as luck would have it, I got to ride in the front car of the monorail for the first time on my 40th!

Mine is in a few weeks. We went to WDW for my 35th and money is tight this year. I already had my Girl's Getaway for the year and already have my birthday gift from DH.

DH will most likely either take me out to eat or will cook anything that I want.

I want a huge something for my 50th! Probably a cruise. We will see where we are and what my interests are 10 years from now!

My girlfriend at the time took me on a trip to the Grand Canyon. She said she had to find a destination that was older than me.
