We have never had our vacation ruined by rain, but boy did we get a lot during our trip in May/June of this year!
Day 1--MK--slight rain, one of those short afternoon showers that sent us into Philharmagic, and then it was over.
Day 2--AK--Came out of the 9 o'clock pm show of FOTLK to rainforest-y conditions: pouring rain and lightning. We bought pizza for dinner and sat outside under an umbrella. Good times, almost didn't mind not getting to ride EE one last time (we assume it would have been closed).
Day 3--DHS--Rain (more than a drizzle, less than a downpour) stopped the 9 o'clock showing of Fantasmic! right in the middle; the show was canceled. We stayed around for the 10:30 showing, which was delayed about a half hour, but it was worth it!
Day 4--Typhoon Lagoon--Rain held off until we got to that night's dining, the Polynesian Luau. Again, pouring rain and lightning. The show was delayed for a really long time while we all ate, and then when it finally resumed, the performers mostly stayed on the covered stage instead of venturing out into the open. Rain had stopped by the time we left.
Day 5--Epcot. This was a crazy day--started pouring while we were there, so we decided to take a break and go to DtD. Took the monorail to the TTA and then another to the Polynesian to get a bus. Bus did not come. Torrential rain and lightning, we were soaked and it was so much fun running from the monorail platform to the bus station. Got back on monorail, went to GF. Finally got a bus to DTD. Hid out in the World of
Disney Store until the rain had cleared up. Rest of day was beautiful.
Day 6--MK. Rain started right before the Celebrate A Dream Come True parade, so the parade was delayed about 45 minutes or so. Finally the parade came through, and right after it got to the end of the route (I was standing there, by Splash Mountain), the rain began again. Ran to Pirates of the Caribbean.
Needless to say, the rain made the trip more interesting and delayed a few things--but it was also really fun and in no way ruined our trip.
Do bring ponchos--we ended up leaving them in the hotel room and just let ourselves get soaked every day, but you might not be as crazy as us!
